What about these designs here?
His first two are still basic, her tert is Scales but I feel like he has to have iridescent primary to really look "fiery"- feel free to change my mind though!

This gal currently has Laced/Freckle/Crackle, but I'm thinking about replacing the tert with stained for a cleaner look, or giving her glimmer. Thoughts? I'm open to seeing new combos but I just bought Laced for her before planning so if we can keep it that would be nice. Not required though.

Yeah, the terts aren't my favorite honestly? But gosh I love the female's primary and secondary colors so much I'm not sure I want to give it up. Finding gen 1s that meet all my requirements is a tough ask

Archivists, before I even attempt designs I want to know what you think about these little faes? Could they work or do I need to replace them completely with better colors?

ScalyMaiden I'm not much of a fan of either of their terts, color-wise. Peacock can be nice but the lavender doesn't feel fitting. Spines is a meh gene to me personally.

ScalyMaiden Oh trust me, I know those pains, and I'm not one to skip on a gen 1 I like because of the teriary either! It's always worth working around if you like them enough! Not to mention the right outfit can really bring all three colors together too.

I want to redo him too with some better genes, but all I've got is ripple/metallic/gembond. I don't want both him and his mate to have the same primary.
They're not particularly to my tastes; I prefer more coal greys, bright oranges, and autumn browns, and those genes are definitely not my favorite either (they can be beautiful to me, but only under special circumstances). But to each their own; my sole opinion doesn't define the immense and indescribable beauty of the Fire Flight. :3

I love Smoke for Wind dragons because of its wispy look.
These dragons remind me of my flight's page header whenever I look at them. They'd look perfect on the exalt pillar if I ever decided to exalt them.

Other genes that can be used: Butterfly and Lace/Smirch(it gives a water like effect) prefer to have this together to help cover the more brighter orange bits
Stained is your friend here if you have no other ideas. Or wing only accents/skincents

ScalyMaiden I actually quite like how they both look! Only problem is both of them have a bit of a weird wing color but you might be able to get that to work in some way :P
