It really does depend on the look or the lore you're going for, but it can look pretty nice.

Gembond isn't my favorite gene, it can definitely look a bit... disease-ish. Dependent on the breed, though - I think it often looks quite pretty on skydancers, it accents the wing shape so nicely. This is my only perma with it though:
