“Maybe not, but this one has our genes.” The female hisses. You nod to answer her question. "Do you wish to...become, a Siren?" she asks. You nod again. "You have come to the right place...I am the Siren Queen." she stops pacing and looks you dead in the eyes. "Come with me."

"MY FATHER IS GONE!!" she bellows. "HE'S BEEN DEAD FOR YEARS." she takes a deep breath to compose herself. "Sirens are the only hope to carry on his legacy of protecting his kingdom."
"Terrans were the ones who destroyed the kingdom in the first place." Atlantis chides, walking a circle around you. "But...you're right. We must trust them." he grabs your talons. "Follow us."[/i]

There was no need for Siren Protectors, and the Terrans wouldn't hunt for fish to eat. They were friends, keeping their belongings out of the water to keep the Atlantians happy.
But that all changed, when the Terrans broke their promise.
They started to hunt in the oceans, pollute the water by throwing their armour that couldn't be repaired, failed science experiments, rotten food, and even cursed items into the water. The Atlantians didn't know what to do at first. All they could do was watch. Their kind wasn't trained in battle, and they were too passive as a people to defend themselves.
Just before this began, the King and Queen had laid a nest together, with two eggs inside. When these eggs hatched, a two princes were born. Though they were twins, they were very different. The first twin carried a genetic abnormality that would impact his descendants til the end of time, and was a brave, courageous dragon. His kingdom was his first priority, and he swore to his parents that he'd protect it with his life. The second was as passive as the others. He wanted peace, but was unaware of how to obtain it.
Years passed, and the second brother moved away from the kingdom to escape the worsening conditions of the water. The first remained, and took over the kingdom for his parents. He married a beautiful dragoness, and they laid a nest together. But to their dismay, there was only [b]one[/b] egg. They were distraught; their kingdom would only have one heir to their throne...
The dragonet that hatched was named Cascade.
The Atlantians were a peaceful, happy species, and a ritual they had was to sing together every full moon. However, the King told his daughter that she must never, ever sing. She asked him why, but he simply shook his head and told her it would endanger the dragons around her. Princess Cascade trusted her father deeply, so she did as he asked.
On her 18th birthday, she broke her promise to her father, singing softly under her breath during the ritual. The dragons surrounding her stopped what they were doing, and suddenly swam to the surface and drowned themselves (as they couldn't breathe air.) Cascade clamped her talons over her mouth and turned around as her father looked at her disappointedly.
"I'm sorry father." she'd said, but he pushed her aside. He went to his advisors and told them that they must train Cascade to use her power to defend the kingdom.
Now, the Sirens are a Holy Guard that protect the Oceans, wherever they live, whatever flight they are from. Each Siren has their own story, but they all stick together as one, powerful family.

These are the most dangerous Sirens aside from Lagoon Monsters. When they sing, any non-Siren dragon is hypnotized into drowning themselves. Royals very rarely use their voices for evil, and if they do they are punished as it is a war crime. They only use this power to protect the oceans and the dragons that live there.

Lore: Lagoon Monsters don't live in the ocean like most other kinds of Sirens, and instead they live in swamps, marshes, and lagoons. Their skin drips and oozes a strange goo that no dragon can identify. Scientists are trying to figure out if there's a solid muscle mass somewhere underneath all the sludge, but all their previous experiments have been inconclusive. Lagoon Monsters are placid, but if you anger them they are a force to be reckoned with. They're strong, fast, and heavy. They grow to be up to 10x bigger than the average land dragon. You can befriend one by offering them...mud?

Lore: The dragons classified as "Siren Royalty" are a bloodline and gene species. To be registered as a Royal Siren, a dragon should be a descendant of Cascade and Atlantis, but Royal Variant Sirens do exist, they just don't have the abilities that the rulers' kin do. These are the most dangerous Sirens aside from Lagoon Monsters. When they sing, any non-Siren dragon is hypnotized into drowning themselves. Royals very rarely use their voices for evil, and if they do they are punished as it is a war crime. They only use this power to protect the oceans and the dragons that live there.

Lore: The Great Beasts were only the second Siren variation to emerge, first being Royalty. These massive creatures can live happily in both saltwater and freshwater biomes. They are the gentlest of the Siren variations, spending their time playing with sea-life and exploring the waters. They only become hostile when angered, but even then, they just sit on you. They're not the brightest but they are the kindest. To have a Great Beast as a friend is a very good thing.
