Well, this boy is really the only one with this issue(?)
His coloring is garnet, cream and dirt. And honestly, the cream on its own was pretty terrible so we just slapped a stained on there and that fixed everything
He’s gorgeous...
(my progen kind of has this problem as well but ice/platinum/storm isn’t even that bad plus i just gave her a capsule gene and then covered her in apparel so nobody would notice XD)

I thought 'OHMYGOSH A GREYSCALE BABY'
And then I thought 'Oh man, please have a decent tert'
And while her tert isn't THAT bad, there were next to no genes that looked okay. My options were basically Stained and Spines, and I went with Spines because it's cheaper.

silver and sunshine looked adorable in basic but could not for the life of me make this progen work until ghost came out and worked his lore to make him a fossil.

This is Carlin. And for a long time I struggled with the perfect tert until Runes. And it looks stunning on him. So I applied it and never looked back and he remains one of my favorites to this day because of it. The blue glow on his red-orange color scheme makes it pop that much more.

I bought this boy because of his primal eyes and wondered how to make the brick tert work. Luckily firefly, for all its faults, ended up reflecting the colours in his earth primal eyes. I'm happy with the outcome for now, but he really needs Bee.

Combined with avocado it's just no go. So I make it work by keeping him all basic. He is a kind of hardened fighter, no frills, dusty, ready for battle. I like him so much this way and it has become so much a part of my understanding of him, it is probable I will never gene him. I actually think it was a lucky accident his tert was so bad as I might have gened him early on, probably in some fairly horrific way, and he would not have evolved as the derg he is.
