@Viviwren Hi, I’m here to register the first two Jinling Empire crows, a magpie and an effluvial Two brothers, closer than blood. A prince foreign even within his own lands, and an ill, travel-weary scholar. Old friends, with their paths of fate converging once more. Yet, their natures couldn’t be more different. Wuchang was an exceedingly gentle soul with a tender heart that couldn’t help but lament the impermanence of the world. Wu Qing, on the other hand faced the world with the same coldness and ruthlessness he had been born into with little sympathy for the woes of others. Though so different, their deep sincerity and constant companionship could not be more true. I had a chat with a good friend of mine who was born and raised (and still lives) in Japan. I really dig the subspecies and love the looks and aesthetic, but I was curious what his opinion was on The Discourse about it and his verdict is: not racist at all lol, what little actually is legitimately based on folklore is not presented disrespectfully and Japan is a SUPER open culture anyway. so yeah! go off yall, you're a-okay :) i wanted to share just in case anyone was worried about that sort of thing. to reiterate, he's not japanese-american, he's japanese-japanese. born and raised and still lives there ;)

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement towards all. In regards to the topic, I'm a bit out of the loop so please regard this as a general sentiment on not just this subject but writing as a whole, and for anyone who happens upon this. The subspecies itself isn't specific to any one culture in its current and final form as a template, though there are certainly a lot of user clans that draw a variety of cultural inspirations in their worldbuilding.

I think a grain of salt and a margin of compassion goes a long way in assessing people's intentions and the context of a situation. Likewise, I believe it takes a lot of courage for users to build and put forth their own world--more so to plan it step by step aloud within a community. I hope for everyone to continue to write freely wherever they choose to start from to begin their research, as it's a wonderful creative outlet as well as a great way to broaden one's horizons. Getting started feels like the most difficult part! Grab what inspires you to begin your journey even if it starts from shallower depths, no route is perfect and there will be stumbles and shortcomings that may not look good when stressed under a lens, but is part of the process--and part of being human, to develop and refine towards something better.

I'm very sad to consider the idea of writings disappearing or developing a fear of being attacked when ultimately, people's intentions are often good or a little misunderstood. Asking a few questions does a lot to help clarify. I hope in the face of any problems that people sincerely reach out to each other to find a mutual understanding and opportunity to share both of their views over the desire to punish or pass a hasty judgment. It's easy to forget that people are human on the other side of the screen, and that a clear distinction between good and bad is often difficult to discern.

With that said, if anyone is being harassed or pressed, I do encourage the use of the block and/or report feature, as there is also no reason to be left uncomfortable nor made to choose sides when FR is a place where you're meant to have fun and have a brief reprieve from daily stressors. Keep writing!

To think he stayed in his Effluvial form all that time up until he mourned her, his darker feathers now matching the occasion over a celebratory red. The historical drama setting is perfect, I must know more about what happens in the future and what sort of fate awaits him! Wu Qing's lore is also very well thought out. The reason for his lantern apparel not just a cosmetic choice but granting him what little sight he has left. Does Wu Qing know about Wuchang's heritage as a magpie? He was so open with the empress about it that I wonder how much it extended to (or surprised) the rest of the world when he dressed in mourning. Drawing power through unity is such an ambitious goal yet if anyone could pull it off, why not Cabazai? His relationship with Lunen is fascinating, and that broadcast message on him is terrifyingly ominous. Angry albino also has my attention, I'll be first in line for bio updates!
