Forest and River dragons (FaR for short), sometimes called
Forest River dragons are a nature subspecies that boast the colors of the firest along with the waters from the rivers. They are known to store water in their bellies, beginning with the first river water where they were born. As they grow and get older they can store more and more water, and water that flows through them is known to have magical and healing properties. Those of the pure colors count themselves to be of the highest bloodline, but they do not lord it over the other dragons. Instead, they consider themselves guardians of the FaR dragons themselves.

Once an adult, the dragon spends many years training in spiritual ceremonies. The hatching of a

Riverbed dragons are born where the river meets the sea. The brackish water inside them is always a little too salty and unpleasant to drink, but it is rumored that if a
Riverbedyou drink water offered to you from a
Riverbed dragon offers you some, and you’re brave enough to taste it, your soul-mate will appear before you on the next full moon. Because of this romantic rumor, the estuaries near the ocean are full of heart-sick young dragons. Still, currying the favor of these shy, lucky dragons isn’t easy…

Born in the deepest, most shadowy parts of the forest, these quiet meditative dragons are natural-born loners and wanderers. However, many clans prize them for their clairvoyant abilities. They are known as far-seers, and it is possible to scry the future in their bellies. Attracting one of these solitary dragons isn’t easy, though — it requires many months of luck and offerings of water from deep, standing puddles.

All things come to an end as life cycles. Still, while Nature dragons know that better than anyone, they still are hesitant to allow
Decaying Woods dragons into their homes. Said to signify death,
Decaying Woods dragons are tricksters, thieves, and charlatans with wickedly dark senses of humor. Those in the know, however, believe that beneath their dark exterior, they’re gentle and compassionate healers who help old dragons accept death.

First Rain dragons are born in light rain showers where you can still see the sun. Their waters hold magical growth properties for gardens. As such, they’re suited to tending a clan’s crops. With their watchful eye and magic water, plants grow taller and heartier than ever before. While they’re great gardeners, they are among the hardest Forest and River dragons to find — they are flighty and prefer to travel. They are also excellent with hatchlings.

Swampy Forest Dragons are as slow-moving as the water they are born in, taking their first drink from the forested wetlands beside large rivers, often in the depths of the Shrieking Wilds. Many assume that this slowness is reflected in their thinking, especially as they are often swarmed by insects, but in fact, they are careful, cunning dragons, protecting the swamplands from the disease that would otherwise thrive there.
The water collected inside the belly of a
Swampy Forest Dragon tastes as foul as it smells, but it holds incredibly strong curative properties, and the Dragons who hold it will lend it out sparingly to those in need - as long as you show that you can stomach it first!!
