[center]With the big hype for the new gem gene going on... I can't help but.... not like the new gene. I was just talking with a friend about it and... does it not look like a muzzle to you? Now that I've seen it I can't... unsee it.
Anyone want to have a go at making me like the gene?

I don't think it looks muzzle-like cuz it doesn't go around the bottom jaw, but I can see the resemblance and I definitely think it looks weirdly unnatural. It's one of those genes where I feel like it doesn't always work. That said, I do really like it, just only in certain colors/themes.

One of the things I like about filigree is when the gemstones match with the dragon’s primary or secondary.

It’s super nice when the gem color matches while the regular tertiary color offsets.

I have yet to pick a breed, but she and her future mate will be a Snapper/Spiral pair because I really like Filigree on them.

After hours of scrying I did notice the muzzle look especially with coatls... but there were two breed/poses that I kept returning to....Male poses first Bogsneak the line and angle of the neck really display the filigree in it's entire length along the neck... I did do the scrying as XXY Metallic Alloy to accent the filigree as much as possible...

Tbh I only like how it looks on Spirals. I definitely don't see how this could be a gene, only something accentual that a dragon puts on manually. It's kinda bland in my opinion but female imps and both spirals are nicely covered so it really fits them. Others are kinda bleh but that's at least how I see it.

The face is a bit too busy for my liking, but I'm not getting the muzzle vibe from it... I'm getting more of a "Tried to ram my head through a wrought iron fence" feel from it. xD
The gene is gorgeous, though a bit unfinished looking to my eyes. I feel like it should have something on the legs and tail too, to sort of balance it out a bit. It's very top heavy on most breeds. The little gem-stone-things are quite small and sparse. I would have preferred more or bigger or something. Actually, I probably would have preferred it if they weren't there at all. It just doesn't feel finished.
