I love how you've worked her appearance into her lore too - that bit about the cancer was creative (even if it's rather scientifically improbable - then again, magic works in mysterious ways, so perhaps the Plaguemother had some sort of hand in it?), and in a reverse example, her outfit definitely matches her lore. I'm glad to see her legacy honored too - she definitely deserves it, especially after all that she's been through! I love how you worked the canonical Link (or, well, versions of Link) into his lore, while adding in a degree of originality! And how fitting is it for a dragon based off a protagonist who's constantly reincarnated to fight an ancient evil to possess survival skills? His outfit is also awesome. All in all, a perfect tribute to Locutus, of the Borg! Chochin is extremely fitting, as is Starlight guise, and his accessories help accentuate his overall look! I also like the detail about how he studied in Arcane territory. I can imagine what he learned coming in handy! Side note, I also love the alternate outfits in his bio. The poem was quite well-written (I especially liked the little touch with the last line). Appearance-wise, that skincent is bang-on, Brass Steampunk set goes ridiculously well with the Highland Scavenger, and the genes are oddly fitting in their own way. His familiar is quite apt too! Honorary mention: Armstrong! Matchy colors, amazing genes, super fitting outfit, and matchy familiar with an extremely fitting name!

@cerpin What a nice lair you have! Very small and cozy. The small lairs are imo often the nicest; you have many more resources to spend on a small number of dragons. Such is the case here! Dreamcoat is, effectively, a fashion trend, except he is the OG and he is doing the trend far better than any of my dragons will. I love how the green on his poison primary matches up with the green on his toxin secondary, and also the green on his rainbow silks, without any of them being an [i]exact[/i] match; it just looks fantastic. All this to say: I love rainbow dragons, I love Tundras, and Dreamcoat is both. Seriously, what's not to love here? Even his familiar is, somehow, All Of The Colours, because that's just how Dreamcoat rolls. He certainly looks like something small and spritely. I can imagine him flitting around the woodlands; there's a natural kind of aesthetic with the laurel wreath and the nature halo, but then something more ethereal with his golden seraph kit and the luminous sundrapes. (I didn't even know luminous sundrapes were a thing - must have missed that particular festival. Puck has taught me something, and I am duly grateful.) I think what I like the most about Puck is that if you took off all his apparel, he wouldn't be a very matchy dragon at all - green eyes, tangerine secondary, and then that rose gembond accent you have on him (which is lovely, but not matchy). I love it when a dragon's not that matchy but an outfit makes it absolutely beautiful, and I really think that it's Puck's outfit that brings him together colour-wise. Well done on that. Motley here hits many of the same points as Dreamcoat, being a Rainbow Fluffball and therefore a trendsetter for my lair, but here the rainbow aspect comes strictly from her beautiful skin and her familiar. I really like how the skin looks more like an accent on top of a rose primary; I even mistook it for that at first. Gen One Hundred here is indeed, a generation 100 dragon. I can't imagine how much time and effort went into breeding him! Oh, and also - he is an absolutely splendid dragon to boot. This Gaoler is IMO the epitome of ancient breeds - a dragon where no apparel nor accent could possibly improve how nice the design is. I mean, I had no idea that white Breakup results in those beautiful pink highlights! I love how that helps to soften an otherwise very loud primary, as does the Jaguar gene. The white Underbelly works well with the breakup; it's just an all-round harmonious design. All of these are just glorious, but my personal favorite is Nasrin. This is the only dragon this list wearing most of a full set of apparel, because I usually don't go for that, but in this case it's as though the apparel was made for Nasrin. The way that cyan comes through the darker blues of his Haunted Flame kit, the way the gems on his apparel match up with his secondary and tertiary, it's just wonderful. Everything about Nasrin feels so planned! I really appreciate how you layered over the Bloodstone Cascades, just to keep that gold colour a little bit more muted. And hell - even his TOENAILS match with all the apparel. How did you even manage that? ----------- dear np: Fair warning, my lair and den are huge. You have to love him for it, those are some good names. SIRcuit's quest for MANLY names is very honourable — shame he can't spend that honour on the impulse buys instead. He's also very good looking. I love circuit, especially brightly coloured circuit, and double especially brightly coloured circuit on spirals. His accent is what really makes him great though, such a nice rainbow gradient. And those clawtips give the eyes something to refocus on, so he's not just a manly smear of colours. The excellent concept of a writer/webcomicer who doesn't speak aside, his bio is powerful. Incredibly so. Too powerful for me, actually, I was only able to skim it instead of reading the whole thing. But I get the gist that AwwwwWwww might want to be in the Mancave tab instead of the Radiobroactives tab. Keep trying little guy, maybe you'll make it one day. Ghost's (your name's at the start of the sentence, I'm capitalizing it and you can't stop me) bio is very poignant, very on lightning's theme with the endless work. Never being the mage she wanted to be, and forever working, even as a ghost. At least she looks cool, with that gorgeous ghost gene, and the spectacular combo of lightning primal eyes, halo, and emblem. That whole ghost fae tab is a neat idea. The steampunk gloves match very well, just the smallest tie in to her robotic nature. And that accent and necklace add just a little bit of a shiny texture to what could have been an otherwise disappointingly non-shiny dragon. But it's those MANgenta wings that really make her stand out (or fit in, as your lair goes). I don't know how useful dispensing cola from your eyes is, but I can see having a radio clock alarm being very useful in what must be an incredibly loud lair. It's the outfit, but what part? Is it the big, clunky boots that are perfect for stomping and powerful enough to put holes in the floor? Or maybe it's the daybreak decorations in all their glittery splendor, especially the chunky necklace piece. Or it could be the goggles, because I love goggles as fashion, especially with those starry eyes underneath them. We may never know. Regardless, he's great, and his music is probably out of control. Teal pinstripe looks great with the capsule too, those colours look great together. And what's this? Two bonus dragons, because I wanted to pick them, but didn't have enough to say about them! My favorite part is the crackle on her lil feetsies and on her little antennae. Looks like skelly hands. I think she and especially Seren would get along well with my Sprite. I love a spook monster and this hunk o shade is right up my area of interest. Plus I especially like how the apparel gives them basically no discernable features. Ten outta ten.

That skincent really works wonders on him; I imagine the flint secondary would be rather jarring otherwise, but here, it's mostly hidden. The part that does show actually adds to his look with how it complements that eerie full moon on his wings. Abyss feels ancient and enveloped in some old, sinister energy, and looking at him calls to mind thick incense. I'm in love with how the skincent melds with his colors and how the cobwebs add to the sense of dusty silk scarves and shawls! Such an elegantly otherworldly dragon. (And he's a Gen1 on top of that! Gorgeous!) Soleil is positively angelic, but in a bit of a warped way – somewhat reminiscent of a biblical seraph or even enjoying a bit of demonic influence. Either way, blues and golds are an absolutely killer combo and Soleil just exemplifies that! I adore all the golden accents you added with his apparel pieces; they keep him from becoming too monochrome and subtly augment the faint yellow hints of his lapis-stained Starmap gene. Seriously stunning! I've recently started reading a book set in the desert and it's really expanded my appreciation for that aesthetic, so I knew Macrocosm, with his special take on it, was a must-choose. There are a lot of colors playing across his figure, but they really work in his favor – he almost reminds me of the colorful strata present along the walls of the Grand Canyon, actually! I think my favorite thing about him is the skincent. I've never seen it or anything like it before and it's just too perfect for Macrocosm here! He embodies the "wise and weary desert traveler" vibe so well. I think they're just tricked out Tundras that can't wear apparel. So when I find a Gaoler on one of these threads and list it amongst my top choices? I [i]mean[/i] it when I say that that's a damn good-looking Gaoler. Muck is simply adorable, and her colors work wonderfully together! My favorite part about her is that blossom gene; it's just too good! They're just dark and brown enough to match her fur and just bright enough to accentuate her multigaze! She's amazingly well put-together and I seriously commend you for (presumably, judging from the fact that she's a Gen1) geneing her up so perfectly. I click [i]fast[/i]. I click [i]hard[/i]. Rhiannon looks so slippery and sinister, almost like some sort of algae mat you'd find in a bog, and god I'm [i]living[/i] for it. A lot of your dragons are dominated by their skins/accents, but Rhiannon is actually the opposite; it's her apparel that does most of the legwork here, and it's so dang perfect. The layering with the witch's and sorcerer's sets is just amazing – it's one of my favorite layering combos on the site, and in this case it's exactly what Rhiannon needed for her colors and general aesthetic!

Claim! @Volve (Warning: Expect delays!) ----- It has been AGES since I last wrote for your lair, and boy oh boy am I excited! (Also nevermind what I said about delays I guess [emoji=ridgeback laughing size=2]) [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/62014693][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/620147/62014693_350.png[/img][/url] First up, a new (or not so new depending on when you got him) addition to your lair: Horngjel! I'm not usually a fan of multigaze because of how finicky it is, but his skincent complements it ridiculously well (and I'm having problems believing that it's not a full skincent, because DARN you are good at finding dragons that match skincents!) And yet Caribbean Crystal/Denim Facet fits the skincent like a glove, as does his multigaze (the differing shades of blue somehow manage to bring it out instead of overpowering it!). He doesn't need apparel - in fact, apparel would probably ruin the overall effect. His familiar is ridiculously appropriate too! Even though he's not as overtly scary as, say, oueuo, he still manages to project an aura of scariness - I really would not want to run into him. (In fact, I think I'll stay light years away from N139!) I don't really like Laced/Edged, but Knokkel has the honor of being one of the few dragons that I think absolutely rocks it! Cream Underbelly produces a delightfully light shade to contrast with Oilslick/Obsidian Laced/Edged. The skincent very cleverly disguises the top half of Knokkel's head as a tongue, and having it be on top of a dark brown background helps mask that transition/make it smoother somehow. Knokkel only needs her hourglass, which ties right in with her vaguely 'Sands of Time/Time Devourer' vibe. But oetteo is just too pretty to pass up. That skincent goes so well against her primary and secondary - honestly, it's a good thing you kept her tert Basic, because Lavender would be wayyyyy too distracting. The fainter cyan highlights/detailing pop nicely against the darker colors of her primary and secondary, and once again, her familiar is bang on. She gives me faint neon vaporwave vibes and I love it [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/46915203][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/469153/46915203_350.png[/img][/url] TEAL TEAL TEAL TEAL TEAL TEAL TEAL! While not my favourite color, Teal is one of those colors that I love to see done justice, and Vurm definitely rocks it! The Teal starsilk Shawl goes SO well with the teal crescents in his skincent - and what do you mean, that's not a full body skin?! He looks so different underneath it, and the two blend together so well, I'm still not convinced that it's not a full body skin. His eyes are super matchy too (which is a surprise, but a pleasant one for sure). All in all, I love this celestial wyrm and his funky teal color palette. That's one funky skincent (another one that [i]isn't[/i] full body? Darn!), and Obsidian Metallic/Alloy provides the perfect backdrop for it to shine. What little of her primary/secondary you can see poking out melds seamlessly with the skincent, and the Carmine fireflies match the dark red shades in the skincent beautifully. She simply doesn't need apparel to shine the way she does. I wonder if her familiar hints as to her future lore?
