Brooo just from your icon I know I gotta claim Edit: okay @osteophagy ! First of all, love your username. Second of all, love your whole lair aesthetic and lore. Third, my favorite aesthetics are folk deities and cottagecore so let me tell youuu when I saw your dragons… As a XYZ enjoyer it also was a delight on that front. Looking up the name’s meaning btw, really clever, love it. What can I say except that he’s stunning? The first impression is that he looks like a tiger, and it’s a really lovely imagery to linger with, but it’s truer to say that he looks like some unknown ancient dragon beast, almost like a breath of the wild ghibli dragon with a side of the jungle book. The yellow grass adds such an atmospheric feel to the really cool pose and scene, the apparel makes him look reverred yet it’s clear he lives a life and isn’t chained to being a temple statue. The biggest draw is for sure the mix of the slightly, pleasantly desaturated reddish orange with the contrast of the black and most of all the green of the apples and the lacquer— such a beautiful gene. It’s suuuch an awesome and unique skin and I’ve had my eye on it for a while myself, but I find it’s hard to make it truly match any dragon so it’s an extra feat to me that you managed to find one that doesn’t just fits but complements it! The skin, dragon and apparel genuinely just seamlessly flows into each other to the point I had to check to see what was part of what haha, just such an impressive dragon. Looking back he probably makes my top spot actually even without all the apparel and skin. Stained makes a dragon feel so beautiful once again- and I’m a big fan of the copper color so let’s just say bluish-green & orangey-brown are right there- I feel bad about gushing about the base dragon and not with the outfit but omgg just look at him, the spots running along his back immediately struck me as mushrooms, the turkey tail mushroom type. The darker green of the main body vs the greens of the wing all the brighter and more hypnotizing for it— The geometry of the subtle arrow pattern on his belly couples with the myrid… And then the swirl green eyes?? Literally perfect dragon. I especially like the twig and leaf theme on the skin, and the nature theme with the apparel too! Helped make my mushroom association. The spots on the back remind me of moon phases more, all dressed up. Also, "I was frightened, always frightened"? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it or a skin alike it, it really caught me by the throat so to speak. The concept is so incredibly interesting and pretty, and of course the orange and teal colored frames help tie it all together. Unsurprised to see copper is one of the dragon’s colors, the mask and the secondsry match well also. Very, very interesting look. The skin really ties all the colors together, all the jewelry and clothes, the leaves in the mouth… If this skin was custom made for this dragon I’d have no trouble believing it. But the spotlight is on the wings for sure! The skin meshes perfectly will the constellation colors, and the little berries were what caught my heart the quickest. Very memorable, and I find that hard to say about a lot of dragons with this type of skin. Honorable mentions to Pulaski, Dice, Saint and Elegy! I almost forgot to look at your hibden sob I’m so glad I didn’t. Very very pretty lair with a lot of efforts put into every detail V Thank you to all the nice words!! And the fact she's a weird amalgamation? Hi, yes, I love stuff like that too. I love that her parents looked at her, went "well we dunno what to do," and raised her as normal. So good! I am such a sucker for dragons with contrast and that light green over his obsidian color pallet is gorgeous. I also am a fan of how his eyes stand out, usually matchy eyes are the way in my book but honestly it works for him so nicely. The little bit of green from plague rare still ties it into his overall look. Bonus points for matching familiar[/columns] [columns][font=times]Another immediate love at first sight because I think that uma is stunning and looks so good on Azazel. You dressed him perfectly, like 10/10 outfit and I say that as someone who is incredibly picky. The art in the bio really sold me on him though, I love a dragon with amazing art in their bio. As I said before, I love a good god/deity motif for dragon lore and it's no different here. The juxtaposition between the sweet candy name and the frightening lore is so good and I am all in. And ofc let's not forget about his amazing appearance! That uma is so gorgeous on him and really does make him feel like a deity. (Bonus points, I love the nowhere king though I've never watched that show haha)[/columns] [columns][font=times]Clown is perfect in this uma and I knew I had to put him on this list. I like how he has pharo/sarc for his genes because it is a nice dark backdrop for that uma and frills just suits his name perfectly. Her outfit also isn't cluttered or anything so you can really enjoy and take in her whole appearance easily. Goat eyes look so good here and roundhorns on spiral f poses are fantastic. And I can't end things off without saying how much I love the incense mantle layered over the top of the proto wings. @Aurelyon Want to start off by saying your lair is [i]gorgeous[/i]. Loving all the neutral tones so much. I'm always a fan of a good Pearlcatcher, and her skin is absolutely perfect for her colors. All of the candles on her, between the apparel, and those from the skin, work very well together. Also, layering translucent apparel to get different colors is a trick I always love to see. The golden-brown you got with the flame candles works so well on her.[/columns] [columns]Dogma (as well as Adagni) caught my eye the moment I went to her tab. I've always loved the still/drown skins, and she wears hers so well. The cloth on the skin is a perfect match to abyss, while her spruce koi fits both the halo and secondary. I'll admit, I'm not sure I ever considered latte/abyss/spruce as a combo, but she shows its potential beautifully! While Dogma wears the bluish tones of her colors beautifully, Adagni's neutral browns are also stunning. The tarnish jester brings just a touch of that blue into him, while still allowing those teals from the skin to stand out against the browns. Brown-toned savanna is a favorite of mine, especially in colors like soil where the dark patches get that rich umber-like color.[/columns] [columns]Fidelia's colors surprised me! Oh, the wonders of stained.... I often find clay (and antique, for that matter) difficult to work with, but the clay stain is really pretty with her prim/sec. It gives her a very earthy look that would have been hard to achieve without it, and makes her fit the skin spot-on! Their color and gene combo alone is really nice, especially those copper wings. The colors and skin work really well together, and I really like how the jewelry from the skin stands out against the dark okapi. Paean doesn't have a lot of apparel, but honestly doesn't [i]need[/i] much; the few you've chosen compliment the rest of the look so well. @Voidendron We love the lair intro...Collectors indeed! Let's start with Mao. We saw her and fell in love with her dark aesthetic. And the use of one of our favorite skins also caught our eye. But then, we looked at her lore and fell even more in love! What a tale of strength, and how scary and gloomy she looks...all while being such bright colors! She's also demi? Yes...favorite. Then, we saw Snake. Listen, we love laced/edged! But with the blossom and multigaze, this walking/stalking bush is amazing! We fully believe Snake is the Whispering Forest itself! And you are still woking on the lore?? (In RL, my editor's soul is glowing at this idea and your execution of it. 10 of 10) Anyway, all in all, we love everything about this permababy's look. Brilliant, gorgeous, and perfect! [center]@mxlplyx So it actually took me a good second and a half to sort through your lair, mostly because you have so many pretty dragons that would deserve to be on this list! Seriously, this was actually kind of tricky to whittle down to just five. But! They're so pretty but I personally can never manage to work them into an outfit properly without it looking weird, so I love love [i]love[/i] it when I see a dragon that pulls them off so perfectly! Though even below it, Ebb is a beauty! Splash Iridescent looks so pretty, and I love it even more coupled with Caribbean Bee and Lapis Glimmer. She looks like the perfect portrayal of the blue sea on a hot summer day, shimmering in various shades but looking oh so inviting. She's honestly all around a perfect Water dragon, rocking the cloak and accompanied by fishes everywhere, such a beauty! I know that a lot of colors can have some really interesting accents with different genes, but I never knew that Sanguine had a straight up white accent on those genes! It's a super interesting look and honestly kinda makes me want to get one like that of my own. I also love the addition of Skuttle here, it just feels natural, y'know? Seriously, how do you even figure this sort of stuff out? I really love how this guy looks, Sailfish and Marlin really make him look like some sort of deepsea creature that's trying to warn you about how toxic it is with its colorful patterns. I especially love how those Rare Nature eyes fit right in, despite being a completely different color from everything else on him. The antlers also having a hint of that yellow-blue gradient is also super cool! Overall everything on this boy just fits, and I love that! I think I also still have that one somewhere in storage, and frankly seeing it out in the wild like this frankly really makes me want to dig it out and use it myself. I mean, look at the man! He's gorgeous! Especially with those Shadow Primal eyes and his apparel in the mix like, it's so little, but it makes such a huge impact! I particularly love the use of the Turtor Rings here, bringing that swirl of smoke up around his wings which just gives him a really nice twist tbh. Though! He's also certainly interesting to look at beneath the skin, I love how all of his colors at least share a shade of blue in common, with Midnight Fade and Thistle Noxtide having those really light blue fades, which makes the Lapis Ringlets work surprisingly well in my opinion! I am a huge sucker for anything bright and colorful. And Prism over here hits literally everything. That man could not have been named better with how he looks, and somehow, despite everything, he still looks relatively simple! Fade and Blend are honestly some really useful genes, especially with the right colors. And I love the addition of Runes here, gives another wild splash of color, but it isn't so overwhelming that it ruins the dragon, it's really neat! And of course I [i]have[/i] to talk about the Accent you got on him. Seriously I wasn't even aware that one was a thing! It's so pretty, I might have to hunt down a copy for himself. Granted, that would also require me to hunt down a male Veilspun to wear it, but frankly I feel like it would be worth the effort. It's so pretty! And on him especially it absolutely [i]glows[/i]! He's already super colorful on his own, and adding those rainbow parrot wings just elevated him from good to utterly gorgeous, he might genuinely be my absolute favorite from your lair, not gonna lie- [To the next person: Please don't pick anything from the Arrivals or Projects tabs!
