Dash is riveted by each and every dragon shared. He had to pause once as he considered the story about the Tundra named Faith, but he was able to finish his notes. "Fascinating! Thank you for sharing that information."
Hey again =) As always you bring an amazing array of drakes to the festival =) I like all of them, but my favorite has to be Chiyo. I have a Priest similar to her, in the fact he is devoted to the Windsinger but comes from the Nature Flight. I also have to feel for poor Faith, that was a horrible mess she managed into.

Dash is caught in the awe and wonder of the Faerie stories. It had been a long time since he'd heard such tales. In fact, he'd last had those legends tickle his ears as a hatchling. By the time he could draw himself away from his euphoria the speaker had departed. For a moment he searched the many people wandering the Carnival, when it became clear he would not find them he turned to his notes. A giddy giggle slipping past his lips.
Amazing dragons and amazing lore. I hope you don't mind me adding you to my reading list. I would love to read the rest of your lore =) Thank you for sharing them.

Dash is simply astonished by the number of artificial lifeforms he was recently introduced too. "Flux will wish to see this," he mumbled as he jotted down what he was told, "it might help with Arris." At that point the Librarian was lost in his notes and possibly would be for some time.
No worries at all, I've discovered that 90% of what I think stays in my head ;). I absolutely loved your dragons (big fan of circuit) and your lore. Thank you for sharing =)

Dash settled into his booth, doing what he normally did every festival, laying out his journals and writing implements. Once he had everything in order he turned to secure his satchel. He met with a start when he discovered
Orick's bird skull clad head right in his face. The Skydancer was smiling like a fop and padding up and down with all four paws. He looked like an overly excited hatchling that was trying to take in everything at once. "There is so much here!" Orick squeaked. He stopped padding up and down only long enough to question Dash. "Are they here yet?"
Dash released a quick and silent sigh before answering the question. "No Orick, not yet." The ambassador nodded his understanding and went right back to hopping from one foot to the other. "Why don't you go find
Karri--
"She's at the cub tossing event down the cliffs with
Zalla," he said matter-of-factually.
"Oh I se... wait what?" On a second thought he realized he didn't wish to know, so he waved the question away before Orick could answer. Not that he heard him, he was once again lost in his wonder. "Why don't you go check out some of the merchants?"
Orick didn't need any more prodding then that. He took off into the crowd and was lost before Dash could warn him to stay close. "Well that's probably not good," Dash whispered. The socially awkward ambassador could possibly find trouble on his own. In an attempt to find him he began to scan the festival goers around his booth. He didn't find Orick, but he did find a group heading for him. Their movement and attention was focused, leading him to believe these were some of his expected guests.
He cringed, giving the crowd another quick glace before settling back to his seat. Orick would be alright. He hoped. After pushing the concern away (or at least to the side a bit) he introduced himself to members of The Stanzascale Clan that he'd not met yet. Naturally, he listened intently to everything they wished to share and recorded the parts pertinent to his research.
"I must admit," he said, finishing a notation, "I'm impressed with the sheer genius I have been introduced to here. The Lightning Flight's ability for creating astounding mechanical constructs is both alarming and delightfully wondrous." He nods respect to both Myzrin and Molerince. "I do have to ask. The engineers we have at home like to gauge a successful experiment by the number of times it explodes before it's finally perfected. Do you do the same, or at least something similar?"
He turned to the Wildclaw Lor with a smile spread from one ear to the other. "I've yet to meet one of the Lightning that wished to pursue biological sciences. May I asked how you became interested in such?"
I have to agree =) I was very excited when so many jumped in to share their lore. It's awesome! I have to apologize about my ambassadors, I had wanted to flesh them out better, but all I managed to get to was a quick description on Orick and nothing really on Karri. The only one that is finished is Zalla. You can find more on them
here if you like.

I spent ages editing his story in my head, and was really proud when it was finally finished! I hope you like it, even though it is a bit sad :3
PS: He has a picture of what he "looked like" before the accident in his bio. Of course, entirely fictional.

______ I ran my eye over the machine. Many of my apprentices were doing the finishes touches. I cleared my throat, making my presence known to those in the room.
"Is it done?"
"Yes Kelagor sir." The room echoed with their voices. I nodded approvingly.
"Make ready the machine then! Razakin himself is coming to watch the first test of our machine." They chorused assent and set to work as I went to greet Razakin, leader of the clan.
"They are preparing the machine." I bowed my head submissively and gestured with my golden wing. He stared at me with unblinking eyes.
"This better work Kelagor. The Stormcatcher himself is eager to see this work." My head shot up at these words.
"The Stormcatcher?! He's- Any how, I'm sure this will work." Under Razakin's gaze, I hastily added "Without fail." He sniffed, then turned to face the outcome of a year's work from me.
"Turn it on."
"Yes Sir." I turned and roared the signal to the underlings. As they scurried out of the way, I strode towards the lever, feeling Razakin's eyes boring into my back. I placed my claws on the lever. And pulled it down. Instantly a large, soft whirring sound started to climb. Then the sound changed to a throaty clashing roar of machinery. What the- a loud boom sounded and my vision went bright light to black.
A static noise in my ears. Bright spots in front of my eyes. Ash falling soundlessly from above. I stiffly rose to my feet, stumbling away from the wreckage. Pain in my foot made me look down. I was shivering uncontrollably. I stared numbly. White? I flicked my tail into view. The long golden fur that usually coated it was white. I twisted my head to look at my golden wings. White. Before I could process this, Razakin stumbled to me, mouth open shouting but the buzzing filled my ears. He seemed mostly unharmed. Warm liquid trickling from my ear. Slowly the buzzing faded.
"-done! This happened because of you! If you dare set foot here again, I'll have the steelhound tear you apart!" I stared numbly at him. "Do you understand?! Out!! You are banished. Exiled!! Gone!!" I stumbled out of there. I looked back once, still shivering. White smoke hung in the air, blotting out the sky. In the smoke I saw lightning and heard the Ridgebacks that flew within. And I left.

Lor laughed, "I have heard that there are some with a knack for making anything explode."
"I'd have thought the opposite," Molerince was a little surprised, "that it would be how long it is before it breaks, like in an explosion, that gives a measure of success. I prefer to work with clockwork and avoid volatile materials, so explosions aren't a likely thing to worry about."
"Why would you make a ventilator that explodes?" Keryin relayed Myzrin's dry response. "It would be counter-productive to its purpose. Unless the device is something designed to explode, such as customised fireworks, ensuring it does not explode is a reasonably high priority. I understand that the clan appreciates the effort to allow for health and safety." Myzrin hummed thoughtfully. "I can see, however, why one might desire 'explosive' failures. It would dilute the disappointment and frustration."
"The clan monitors items of high magical or technological potential." Keryin added, fiddling with his spectacles. "They restrict experiments concerning such. The aim is to avoid explosions and similar outcomes."
"Well, I suppose the first thing to start me thinking was how some travellers would express regret that some potplants would have to be abandoned in a move between realms, or that for similar reasons it might be impractical to keep cuttings obtained from travels." Lor recalled days past. "Those of the clan that tended the greenhouse sometimes bemoaned the varying difficulty they had in cultivating crops necessary to the clan's operations. In spite of their efforts a fair amount was imported to make up the difference in what was required. Additionally, there was this dragon I associated with tasked with assessing efficiency, productivity and the like of the clan. They had decided to request similar data from a society that held such records for a number of willing clans across Sornieth. They found that Lightning clans, ours at the time included, shared similar weakpoints to Fire clans along with Ice clans that were not located in the tundra. Though much of Nature lacks our advancements and has low power efficiency, they have more stable resources of food, water and anything else what might be yielded from flora and fauna. Wind strikes an interesting balance in having great wind farm potential without restricting areas of plant growth. Unsurprisingly, Arcane are not terribly consistent with one another regarding the matter. She smiled. "A simplified model though it may be, I believe it is a reasonable generalisation to consider it that there are two approaches to science: pursuit of knowledge for its own sake and the pursuit of knowledge that it may be applied to some purpose. Of course, it is perfectly possible, if not probable, for a scientist to have elements of both. My ideal is to develop the genome of a plant that could reliably withstand conditions in the Shifting Expanse." Lor's voice went low. "Life, without inhibiting power."
Lor relaxed. "Perhaps a fear of Emperors and the co-occurring displeasure of the deities puts many off following a comparable path to the protagonist of those tales that involve a cry of 'it's alive!'" The Wildclaw mused.
Illuminata and Plumra had intended to visit Dash's booth at a quieter time given what they'd been told at the previous festival of Orick's potential shyness. So they were idly wandering the festival for the time being and meeting any looks sent their way. Sarquinn the Wind Guardian walked half an Imperial-length behind, her services having been requested on this occasion where the pair had been travelling with sensitive documents. Sarquinn preferred the open road to a busy market, but as long as she remained needed she would proceed.

Five dragons arrived, seeming a bit tired from a long journey, but otherwise in good spirits. They ranged in size from "enormous" to "barely visible" with very little in between. With the exception of the two Ridgebacks, who were nearly identical, the others ranged wildly in color and pattern. In fact, the only thing they seemed to have in common were their bright cyan eyes.

You barely spent a minute in Lightning Flight as a hatchling, and even less time around Ridgebacks, so what's your excuse?" Spark wondered. "I'm sure Pyre would love to hear you've been borrowing his weapons because...?"[/columns]
They may have continued, but Cek pressed his bulk between the two and said, "Alright, calm down. We still have a ways to go, so go get something to eat and get some rest."
Cobb immediately broke off, casting a glare back at Spark for good measure. Spark returned the expression, but with a calming monotone speech from her little companion, she left, too. Not without throwing a taunt toward Cobb's retreating figure, though.
Cek sighed and shook his head. "And try not to kill each other, okay?" None of them seemed to hear, but he didn't seem too worried. "We might all be from the same Flight, I guess, but even that doesn't always guarantee good relations. We may not be family by blood, but family by Flight makes for just as much tension."
------
Annnnd I just realized that the only one of my Lightning Flight dragons that actually has a bio is Cek. Which makes sense, I guess. He is one of my most treasured dragons. Might be time to give some of the others some love...
Also,
@Nonith
Your WISF and PAIL are nephew and niece to my Spark! Their father, Sivir, is Spark's half-brother. I love coming across various dragon's family members around, especially ones so well-loved. I love Lightning clans' lore, especially those that play around with alternate universes and/or time travel. It's so... creative and convoluted. So much fun to think about, but I think if I ever tried to take that route with my own lore, my brain would just explode. I admire people who can keep all that straight. I love your 'bots and your somewhat unsettling Fae programmer.

I'm Fang," she offered, and then patted her enormous companion's spine beneath her feet. "The cheery one here is Spark. She makes golems, and I take them out."

"And don't be fooled by her small size," the final Ridgeback said. "She is perfectly capable of finding weakness in any circuitry and exploiting it before you can say 'Stormcatcher's claws.'" He shrugged off Fang's ungrateful sneer, and offered, "I'm Glint, by the way... and I... procure things. Yes. A treasure hunter, you could say."

"Speaking of taking the Wind Flight out of the Spiral." Cobb snorted in laughter. "This big idiot hasn't figured out that what you folk call borrowin' out here in no-dragon's-land is called stealin' everywhere else." At a glance with a narrowed eye, Cobb backpedaled. "Not that I care. Just fact."

"Oh, yes, and why should you care? You barely spent a minute in Lightning Flight as a hatchling, and even less time around Ridgebacks, so what's your excuse?" Spark wondered. "I'm sure Pyre would love to hear you've been borrowing his weapons because...?"

Annnnd I just realized that the only one of my Lightning Flight dragons that actually has a bio is Cek. Which makes sense, I guess. He is one of my most treasured dragons. Might be time to give some of the others some love...
