As the territories were forming, The Windsinger found delight in the seagrass that blanketed the bed of the oceans. Reminding him of the fields of sweet grass and bamboo clusters of the Windsweapt Plateau, The Windsinger gathered engery to create the powerful jet streams required to stir the oceans and create currents that would help fill the seas with life. Where these two forces collided, the Seagrass Streams were born.
Boasting a coat of fur that stirs like the grasses of the land and sea, the Seagrass Streams desire to cultivate life, even in the most still of seas. Gifted with the ability of flight, they stick to the skies and use their wide wings to help direct stray gusts over the surface of the water. They are very skilled in predicting the weather patterns the ever-changing jet streams cause. As a result, they are often seen assisting weaker fliers on days where the streams pick up speed, and serve as an early warning to clans when bad weather is apporaching. As the jet streams change with the transition of the seasons, the Seagrass Streams are rarely found staying in one location for an extendted period of time. However, those that have a connection to a specific location instead tend to shallow tidepools and ponds, helping to maintain the nutrient-rich waters in these ecosystems.
Seagrass Streams are easily identified by their soft green coat. It was not until the species continued to grow when they developed the swirl of color seen today. The touch of yellow in their fur developed from their constant proximity to the sun rays, while their watery blues were inspired by the surfaces of the waters they fly over. Seagrass Streams that protect the tidepools eventally grew out of their greens, and developed a mix of blues instead. However, both variations still maintain their glimmering blue bellies. It serves as a badge that reminds them of their origin.
FAVORITE SNACKS
Unsurprisingly, the Seagrass Streams diet is made entirely up of plants. This makes food sources relatively easy to find. However, both variants are quite picky when it comes to their favorite foods. Feed a Seagrass Stream one of the snacks below, and you've got a relationship that "smells like friendship"!

HOARDED TRINKETS
The Jetstreams variant typically does not hoard as much as their Tidepool brethren. Occasionally, they will bring back small tokens to those that have helped them or those they care for. Look in their bag and you will often find:
[item=Scroll Case][item=Silver Pocketwatch][item=Empty Inkwell][item=Aviar Fragment][item=Aviar Cave Painting]
[item=Harpy Masque][item=Decorative Feather Fan][item=Weathered Grimoire][item=Intact Parchment][item=Messengers Scroll]
[item=Analogous Pigment Blend][item=Primary Pigment Blend][item=Tattered Canvas Scrap][item=Grouse Basilisk Field Notes][item=Coral Basilisk Field Notes]
The Tidepool variant collect all manner of shiny and decorative trinkets and scavenge most of their collection on beaches. Their desire to hoard these items is unmatched, and Tidepools can often be seen trading pieces of their collection like a form of currency between each other. Tidepools often use their collected items to decorate their lairs or to craft beautiful jewelry, using the finished work as a sign of wealth.

This plant is quick to overtake all of the available space in warm, shallow water.
42
4
Aer Sprite
Plant
A gust of aer sprites can sometimes be confused for a swarm of fireflies in the right light.
41

HOARDED TRINKETS
The Jetstreams variant typically does not hoard as much as their Tidepool brethren. Occasionally, they will bring back small tokens to those that have helped them or those they care for. Look in their bag and you will often find:
Scroll Case
Trinkets
A scroll case in pristine condition. It's empty.
15
Silver Pocketwatch
Trinkets
This pocketwatch is in excellent condition, but the time it keeps is always too early.
90
Empty Inkwell
Trinkets
A darkened glass bottle that once held ink. There are remnants of fluid crusted on the bottom and rim.
80
Aviar Fragment
Trinkets
A fragment of a larger painting depicting a hunting scene.
46
Aviar Cave Painting
Trinkets
The pigments used in this painting will not last when exposed to the elements.
46
Harpy Masque
Trinkets
This crude masque is carved from bone and decorated with feathers. Its strange, humanoid shape prevents dragons from wearing it.
47
Decorative Feather Fan
Trinkets
A flashy way to keep your cool.
23
Weathered Grimoire
Trinkets
If holding just one of these makes you feel knowledgable, imagine how wise you'd be if you had a hoard filled with them!
35
Intact Parchment
Dragonmade
Perfect for diaries, manifestos, and shopping lists.
15
Analogous Pigment Blend
Organics
This peculiar pigment blend has the unusual ability to match the tint of whatever it is applied to.
42
Primary Pigment Blend
Organics
A simple colored pigment used in creating body paint.
42
Tattered Canvas Scrap
Dragonmade
Nothing special, but great for patching up rucksacks or lair awnings.
80
Grouse Basilisk Field Notes
Dragonmade
Someone was very dedicated.
22
Coral Basilisk Field Notes
Dragonmade
Detailed field notes on the abilities of the Coral Basilisk. Where is the author?
23
The Tidepool variant collect all manner of shiny and decorative trinkets and scavenge most of their collection on beaches. Their desire to hoard these items is unmatched, and Tidepools can often be seen trading pieces of their collection like a form of currency between each other. Tidepools often use their collected items to decorate their lairs or to craft beautiful jewelry, using the finished work as a sign of wealth.
Fluted Conch
Organics
Extremely fragile. When these glittering shells are not used to make delicate jewelry, they can be ground up and mixed with paste to form an iridescent polish.
36
Rippleconch
Organics
A brilliant aqua-colored shell. Conches are a favored craft item, lending themselves to beautiful necklaces, sculptures, and gifts.
36
Iguanaskin Cloth
Dragonmade
This material was crafted to cleverly mimic a scaled pattern.
81
Amethyst Geode
Minerals & Ores
To all appearances an ordinary rock, until it's cracked open!
81
Skein of Silky Yarn
Dragonmade
A bundle of mint-colored yarn, spun from the soft hair of the Gale Wolf. Don't envy the craftsman who had to collect it...
32
Prehnite
Minerals & Ores
This foggy green crystal is often used in trading and bartering among harpy beastclans. It has even been adopted as a currency by some dragon clans in the Shifting Expanse!
45
Moonstone
Minerals & Ores
This radiant gemstone is known for its magical ability to aid in the biological morphing processes of some rare types of sprites and fairies.
45
Morganite
Minerals & Ores
This pinkish beryl is pulverized and pulped with other materials to create the parchment used in Eternal Youth scrolls. Exposure to the stone alone will not reverse aging, though some create jewelry out of it and wear it in hopes of living a long life.
45
Azurite
Minerals & Ores
This deep blue mineral is most often used as pigment due to its tendency to convert into malachite should it encounter too much heat. When not being harvested for crafts, they are admired for their large and beautiful crystal formations.
385
Kunzite
Organics
This gem can be affected by dragonbreath to capture flame luminosity for a short while. It is not uncommon to see bundles of kunzite hanging from the ceilings of caves in the Dragonhome, used as tunnel lighting for miners and excavators.
385
Unicorn Dust
Organics
A pinch of unicorn dust and happy thoughts can allow a dragon to fly! It seems impossible, but it is true!
48
Stolen Mantle
Dragonmade
A dragon wearing the mantle of a foo is marked as a target by all Talonok.
32
Intricate Weaving
Dragonmade
These blankets are prized for their craftsmanship. The pattern is too delicate for most dragons to reproduce.
32
Decorated Turtle Shell
Organics
Lie in wait and let your hatred grow: sabotage the leader of the pack!
80
Painted Turtle Shell
Organics
The paint on this turtle shell is cool but crude.
80
Wavespun Cloth
Dragonmade
The true colors of this cloth are only visible when submerged.
53
Rippling Cloth
Dragonmade
The downside with trading Maren cloth is that the bolts are not vast enough to benefit most dragon species.
53
Seeker Brooch
Dragonmade
Scavenged deathseekers are a thrifty way to craft swell jewelry for that special someone in your life.
46
Seeker Orb
Dragonmade
Seeker eyes are desirable commodities; dragons believe that jewelry crafted from these smooth stones may provide insight into their dreams.
30
Jade
Minerals & Ores
This stone is opaque and ready to be carved by a careful hand or claw.

While it is true that most of their time is spent roaming, Jetstreams often form strong bonds with clans that open their lair to allow them to rest, and often return to deliver small gifts or messages from other clans.

The Tidepool Variant developed as the Seagrass Streams settled in with clans bordering the vast seas. Eventually, this variant outgrew their green coloring and was blessed with their swirling blue coats. However, they still retain the ability to predict weather patterns the jet-streams cause, and assist their clans with fortifying their lair in preparation for harsh weather. The Tidepool variant make excellent healers or caretakers. Because of their fascination with seashells and other shiny materials, they also take up jewelry making and are experts when it comes to design. Bartering with them is quite easy, as they will accept their favorite trinkets as currency.

Hey! Been a little while. I know when I first gathered interest for this subspecies you were one of the couple that wanted a ping when I opened the thread. I eventually lost the original list, but now I've got the actual subspecies thread up and running! Was ready to ping you in the Wind Thread, but I learned you moved flights~
I know you wanted a ping, so here it is! Let me know if you wanted to be added to any of the pinglists!
