So, I decided to model some for the next image I'm working on. For the proportions, I based it on [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankole-Watusi]Ankole-Watusi Cattle [/url], and imagine them to be similar to the [url=https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Cavalry_Drake_(Mount)]Cavalry Drake[/url] from FFXIV. I only added the frill up to a certain point, I'd say 1/3 down is where I stopped. I feel like I could have done more with the horns but I think I got it as close as the reference art of them. I think they could be more angled on the Z axis but it was throwing off the curves I was seeing so IDK, use with caution I guess. Also, at the very bottom of this post, I did look at the scale of these, and found them to be twice as tall as a human, I plan to do a true study on them later. Sorry for the weird neck angle, I posed the body piece too much and didn't back it up. She was looking back at the viewer for the image I needed the 3D model for. I love Stormcatcher. His design is snappy! I think his smaller secondary arms are actually lightning rods he uses to catch the storms with. I think he pulls storms to the Shifting Expanse for the Spires to collect the Lightning from! I love the manical, gnarly, snear smiling dragons! They remind me so much of the dragons I saw in anime growing up like [b][url=https://gaogaigar.fandom.com/wiki/Nebula]Betterman[/url][/b], or even [b][url=https://lovedeathrobots.fandom.com/wiki/Khanivore]Khanivore[/url][/b], heck, even FFXIV's [b][url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orBwRsK-pCA&t=110s]Provenance Watcher[/url][/b] looks like them. <3. Ridgebacks are so angler and shark-like that they are just too hard for me to conceptualize to draw sometimes, especially with the spire-like horns off their backs. So I created these to help me. I referenced this[b] [url=https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/flightrising/images/d/db/Neondragon_deviantart_ridgebacks.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20211119153803]image[/url][/b] from the wiki. Several years back, I 3D modeled the [b][url=https://www.deviantart.com/lynntv/art/Stormcatcher-3D-Reference-Sheet-595163303]stormcatcher[/url][/b], and used that file to create these. I noticed some new details about ridgebacks to love them even more. Male horns create a straight line from the tip of their nose to the tip of the horn, while females are curved, and the females' faces have smaller cheek and jaw horns. I plan to detail sculpt these in nomadsculpt one day and even give them texture maps but we'll see.
