We're not too different from other RNG shops or Flight Rising itself. We "offer" pixel plants:

which come in all sorts of shapes and colors:

Rather than buying plants, you earn them by doing things like checking tasks off a personal to-do list. This way, they act as a fun little reward for whatever you're working on! And once you've earned a few, you can start doing interesting things with them...

When you earn a plant, you'll see a picture (which you can upload to ex: Imgur to use like a badge) and a bit of text:

There's some more complicated ways of getting plants, but in exchange for the complexity, they give you more control over what you get!

Mixing plants
You can combine plants into something new! Like breeding dragons, this mixes traits from the "parents". Unlike with dragons, though, you can keep hitting the button til you get exactly what you like, with no cooldown or delay. However, to claim the "child" plant, you have to discard both "parent" plants--in other words, there's a net cost of 1 plant. A common way to use this is to "adjust" the color of a plant you otherwise like. For example, you might have a beautiful dark blue tree that, unfortunately, has a clashy trunk. You also have a little bush you don't care much for, but it has dark wood. By "sacrificing" the bush, you can slap its trunk color onto the tree. The "new" tree replaces the old one, giving you a lovely, matchy plant.

Make Gardens & Trade Seeds
Please share your gardens on this thread! If I showcase yours, I'll get you a seed of your choosing! You can also Make a Garden for a Dragon Above You; not only can you get garden art for your dragons, folks are encouraged to share seeds as "tips"! Besides that, feel free to use this thread to trade seeds.

a quick warning

The following ways of getting seeds are fairly complicated and/or in a beta state.

Host an event that supports Nature or the community
If you want to incentivize a program with plants (like giving a seed with every dragon sold to Nature, or including them in gift bombs), I'm more than happy to generate a batch for you!
Code:
@Oranitha seed batch request! [b]For[/b]: (link to program/event) [b]Count[/b]: (number of seeds, don't be shy, just discard unused ones!) [b]Theme notes[/b]: (extra blue? mostly mushrooms?)

I don't plan to charge unless it's a really crazy request (or I get swamped with orders somehow), and I'll throw in some for you personally as thanks for enriching the community :)

For non-Nature flight-specific support (read: dom), I'd charge and send funds back to Nature. I don't intend to exclude folks by flight, I'd just feel bad if I funded dom against my home! That's dom only though, festival writing contests and the like would still be supported for free.

Contribute a plant
See here for how that works. After adding a base, I'll generate a whole bunch of seeds for you to do whatever you like with, including reselling them.

[center][size=6]More About the Rules[/size][/center] At the end of the day, this "shop" is really more of a game/tool with a bit of community around it. This expanded explanation of the ruleset is intended to set folks at ease, not restrict things overmuch! :) [color=darkgreen][size=5]DO: use seeds in gardens as much as you like![/size][/color] ----- This garden uses each of its seed exactly once: [center][img]https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/959662576541790291/1030484516764131428/unknown.png[/img][/center] and this one uses the same seeds, but some have been pasted in many times: [center][img]https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/959662576541790291/1030484324434321428/unknown.png[/img][/center] pasting a seed in many times is completely fine and is, in fact, a great way to bulk out and visually unify your gardens! :) [color=darkgreen][size=5]DO: hand-arrange/edit gardens![/size][/color] ----- Once you've created a garden, you can do any sort of editing you like on it--cut it up, flip it, tint it, reverse it, add or remove things, whatever! [color=darkgreen][size=5]DO: use gardens how and where you like...mostly![/size][/color] ----- Use gardens anywhere on FR or off, with two exceptions (the next two rules). Linking back to the thread is NOT required, though if you want to add one, go for it! If you choose to give explicit credit, please don't credit me--this is a community effort, and you can link our contributors [url=https://github.com/OriWritesAPlugin/EndlessGarden/blob/master/CONTRIBUTORS.md]here[/url]! You're welcome to use the plant images too, if you like, they're essentially badges. [color=776600][size=5]BE CAREFUL WITH: Wildcards![/size][/color] ----- One of the garden features lets you insert pictures into the garden. This is just a convenience so you don't have to boot up Photoshop; please use it responsibly! If you get art of a dragon, don't use it as a wildcard without artist permission. Not only does it alter their art, it obliterates the signature. Images you use for wildcards aren't stored remotely (which is also why you have to manage your seed collection yourself), but obviously you [i]can[/i] store the product (the garden), so make sure you're using gardens containing someone else's art in line with their rules about its use (such as crediting their art/crediting IP). This only applies if you use wildcards, of course! For wildcards you can use freely (including dragon bases), see [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/adopt/3112071/1#post_50543280]this post[/url]. [color=darkred][size=5]DON'T: sell seeds or gardens[/size][/color] ----- Don't buy, sell, or trade seeds or gardens for treasure, gems, USD, raffle tickets, or anything else besides other seeds or gardens! They're representations of personal achievements. If they can be bought, it "short-circuits" the system and acts as an incentive to cheat, which is bad for everyone (similarly, if you're doing a garden design contest, I recommend using seeds or a badge or similar as the prize). That said, you [b]can[/b] use images of plants and gardens to decorate shops. You can also use them to decorate the bios of dragons you're selling, so long as they're yours (or you have permission). [color=darkgreen][size=5]DO: feel free to sell garden image [i]services[/i]/edits[/size][/color] ----- You're more than welcome to set up shops to, for example: turn a garden into a .gif with a flickering campfire, use someone else's seeds to make a garden for them (a la the dressing room), advertise that your pixel art can be used for wildcards, and really anything else where it's your own artistic talents (that just happen to overlap with the tools). And let me know if you do, I'd love to affiliate! :) [color=darkgreen][size=5]DO: trade, share, and gift seeds and gardens![/size][/color] ----- Making gardens for others is a lot of fun (we have a thread for it!), and you can ABSOLUTELY trade those and seeds for other gardens/seeds. You're also welcome to share your seeds with friends! And I do mean share, like, send someone a seed and you can both use it. Though there is one minor and admittedly subjective exception... [color=darkred][size=5]DON'T: Hand seeds out en masse! Ex: dumping a collection on a thread for folks to grab.[/size][/color] ----- This is the sweeter companion to the "don't sell them" rule. Wanting to share your seeds with people is wonderful, and you should! [b]Sharing a seed in a bio, issuing challenges ("accomplish X to claim this seed: ..."), giving them as participation badges, etc. are fantastic and I encourage them![/b] However, this is still a program about personal achievements, and if folks can assemble any garden they want without any work, it takes away the journey. Sort of like if FR was solely a dragon designer utility, instead of having breeding and an economy and all the rest. This is ultimately a subjective "rule", I'd just ask you don't give away plants such that you trivialize creating gardens. If you need a number (I won't "enforce" it, obviously), maybe like...max 5 freebs in a message to a friend, and like, max 2-3 just laying around on a post for anyone to grab. [color=776600][size=5]MAYBE DON'T: bother editing the plants. [color=darkgreen]Request/contribute instead![/size][/color] ----- Basically, if you're going through the effort of designing new plants/objects to plop in your garden, consider submitting them to the tool/catalog instead! That way everyone can enjoy them, and you can make some treasure. You don't have to, of course, but it is something to keep in mind. This tool is a community effort--many of the most popular plant bases are community submissions! :) Also, feel free to ask me if you have something specific in mind before you draw it. I try to keep a "backlog" in case I have a bad artbrain stretch, so there's always a little bit of danger that whatever you're working on will show up in the next update.
More About the Rules

At the end of the day, this "shop" is really more of a game/tool with a bit of community around it. This expanded explanation of the ruleset is intended to set folks at ease, not restrict things overmuch! :)

DO: use seeds in gardens as much as you like!

This garden uses each of its seed exactly once:
unknown.png

and this one uses the same seeds, but some have been pasted in many times:
unknown.png

pasting a seed in many times is completely fine and is, in fact, a great way to bulk out and visually unify your gardens! :)

DO: hand-arrange/edit gardens!

Once you've created a garden, you can do any sort of editing you like on it--cut it up, flip it, tint it, reverse it, add or remove things, whatever!

DO: use gardens how and where you like...mostly!

Use gardens anywhere on FR or off, with two exceptions (the next two rules). Linking back to the thread is NOT required, though if you want to add one, go for it! If you choose to give explicit credit, please don't credit me--this is a community effort, and you can link our contributors here! You're welcome to use the plant images too, if you like, they're essentially badges.

BE CAREFUL WITH: Wildcards!

One of the garden features lets you insert pictures into the garden. This is just a convenience so you don't have to boot up Photoshop; please use it responsibly! If you get art of a dragon, don't use it as a wildcard without artist permission. Not only does it alter their art, it obliterates the signature. Images you use for wildcards aren't stored remotely (which is also why you have to manage your seed collection yourself), but obviously you can store the product (the garden), so make sure you're using gardens containing someone else's art in line with their rules about its use (such as crediting their art/crediting IP). This only applies if you use wildcards, of course! For wildcards you can use freely (including dragon bases), see this post.

DON'T: sell seeds or gardens

Don't buy, sell, or trade seeds or gardens for treasure, gems, USD, raffle tickets, or anything else besides other seeds or gardens! They're representations of personal achievements. If they can be bought, it "short-circuits" the system and acts as an incentive to cheat, which is bad for everyone (similarly, if you're doing a garden design contest, I recommend using seeds or a badge or similar as the prize).

That said, you can use images of plants and gardens to decorate shops. You can also use them to decorate the bios of dragons you're selling, so long as they're yours (or you have permission).

DO: feel free to sell garden image services/edits

You're more than welcome to set up shops to, for example: turn a garden into a .gif with a flickering campfire, use someone else's seeds to make a garden for them (a la the dressing room), advertise that your pixel art can be used for wildcards, and really anything else where it's your own artistic talents (that just happen to overlap with the tools). And let me know if you do, I'd love to affiliate! :)

DO: trade, share, and gift seeds and gardens!

Making gardens for others is a lot of fun (we have a thread for it!), and you can ABSOLUTELY trade those and seeds for other gardens/seeds. You're also welcome to share your seeds with friends! And I do mean share, like, send someone a seed and you can both use it. Though there is one minor and admittedly subjective exception...

DON'T: Hand seeds out en masse! Ex: dumping
a collection on a thread for folks to grab.

This is the sweeter companion to the "don't sell them" rule. Wanting to share your seeds with people is wonderful, and you should! Sharing a seed in a bio, issuing challenges ("accomplish X to claim this seed: ..."), giving them as participation badges, etc. are fantastic and I encourage them! However, this is still a program about personal achievements, and if folks can assemble any garden they want without any work, it takes away the journey.

MAYBE DON'T: bother editing the plants. Request/contribute instead!

Basically, if you're going through the effort of designing new plants/objects to plop in your garden, consider submitting them to the tool/catalog instead! That way everyone can enjoy them, and you can make some treasure. You don't have to, of course, but it is something to keep in mind. This tool is a community effort--many of the most popular plant bases are community submissions! :)

Also, feel free to ask me if you have something specific in mind before you draw it. I try to keep a "backlog" in case I have a bad artbrain stretch, so there's always a little bit of danger that whatever you're working on will show up in the next update.

Garden Troubleshooting

Naturally, this tool's a li'l janky, so it's not unheard-of for something to go wrong. The third demo garden in the OP does double-duty as a diagnostic image, so if you paste the following into the garden tool:

and don't get something that looks like this:

This is your first stop for figuring out why. Let's go!

Dragon's different, flowers are missing

Diagnosis: totally fine! The "dragon" is something called a wildcard, it's really whatever image you pasted in, scaled down then scaled back up slightly, so if you used any image but the one listed in the OP, it'll probably look a bit different (also, some browsers/versions resize things a bit differently, so a few differing pixels is normal). There's weird "colored static" on the image, mostly pink, green, and yellow

Diagnosis: you're probably using Brave browser (or something with a similar feature). TL;DR: turn the shield off, it glitches out on this tool.

Big thanks to Necralisk for helping me hunt this down! Brave browser comes with a "shields up" mode that alters how web pages behave. Everything is green, yellow, and pink

Diagnosis: could be a few things, but color profiles are a likely culprit. This gets...complicated. You can disable color profiles to see if that fixes things, but also please ping me to let me know you're having this issue! There's a potential fix, but it involves me editing and re-uploading over a hundred images, and we've only had the problem reported once (and on a backup laptop), so I want to know if it was a weird one-off thing first. Got a weird sign instead of a dragon

Diagnosis: bad image in some sense. Possibility 1's that you entered a bad URL/none at all. Notably, FR falls into this camp, as does part of Discord, but not all of it. Try hosting to Imgur or a similar dedicated site.

Nothing shows up

Skip to the bottom boldtext for poll & freebies[/b] Happy NotN! Got lots (and lots) of updates for you all. It's been awhile, so to recap, this is a free pixel plant "adopt" shop where the adopts are free; you earn them by doing stuff like coli bingo or real-life to-do lists. It's a weird thing I put together to coax my own cymbal-monkey of a brain into focusing on things it doesn't want to do, and with your help, it's grown from a small collection of dev art to a full-fledged tool with nearing 200 adopt bases, over 100 palettes, and loads of features (with more on the way)! The full changelog and future plans can be found [url=https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ctv2aKgLf7NGmBf79BTJiXSXPkdaVvb1qwehwCZ0hXA/edit?usp=sharing]here[/url], but here's some highlights: [center][size=4]Copy-paste is DEAD[/size][/center] Well, mostly! That was one of the worst limitations of the old codebase, you had to copy-paste your seeds EVERYWHERE. We use localStorage now: it's a small pool of data local to a site and browser like usual BUT, unlike the rest of the tool, [b]it'll last past restarts[/b]. Think cookie clicker savedata if you've played it. Again, it's entirely local, so I can't bounce it to other devices/browsers (or to myself), so there's a backup button instead. Since the entire site shares its localStorage pool, this lets us to a lot of other stuff, such as this: [center][img]https://i.imgur.com/PLRYbjx.png[/img][/center] There's a lot going on there, but to break it down, the collection (seeds only for now, named goodies like !nigel have [url=https://oriwritesaplugin.github.io/EndlessGarden/completion_tracker.html]their own thing[/url]) is now a whole page with a host of useful widgets that allow you to do all of the old analysis & splicing plus more, like rotating colors: [center][img]https://i.imgur.com/75Yuyef.png[/img][/center] Ah, but what's "rs"? To use stuff like the seed swap, you'd previously have to manually discard seeds, but now you can discard from the collection (rs=raw seedstuff=size of your discard pile). Speaking of, the seed swap: [center][img]https://i.imgur.com/sRBsSg2.png[/img][/center] Seeds are cheaper on average now, cost raw seedstuff, AND the middle seeds are themed together instead of using the rarity system. Which leads me to the rarity system rework... As you can probably guess, there's a lot of changes. But those changes are all focused on what was janky or hard to use: bingo's configurable so I stop having NotN challenges pop up in March (and it finally resizes right!), there's a completion tracker so you don't have to manually count your bases, rarity has been replaced by category because the former was way too opaque, stuff like that. Basically, I've taken the months between updates to figure out dumb hoops I was making people jump through, then doing my best to remove those hoops. And while I am DEFINITELY taking a bit of a break, I don't plan to stop here! First though, [b]I'd really like to thank the Alpha testing squad, as well as everyone else who's stopped in on the thread. Your kind comments kept me going [emoji=familiar heart size=1] Thanks also to (hugely overlapping group) the community artists who stepped up to make this update as wild as it is: RedRevival, AngryMothNoises, and Rat & Reaver (Felspring) together contributed 11 new bases, and I don't have to tell you that they[u] absolutely slap[/u]. Here's some freebs covering a fragment of their work, some of mine, and some classics to welcome new folk: CvXaTCOigo, CxqYjB-ZQZ, CyZP9CEqHP, CtDc8COk8V, Ch1jfB+P4k, CrKwiBxKz9, CVBpOCTgM1 And thank you, reader, for checking out the tool! I hope you like it. Finally, like I said, the tool's not done (though I might be taking a breather for NotN).

The full changelog and future plans can be found here, but here's some highlights:

Copy-paste is DEAD
Well, mostly! That was one of the worst limitations of the old codebase, you had to copy-paste your seeds EVERYWHERE. We use localStorage now: it's a small pool of data local to a site and browser like usual BUT, unlike the rest of the tool, it'll last past restarts. Think cookie clicker savedata if you've played it. Again, it's entirely local, so I can't bounce it to other devices/browsers (or to myself), so there's a backup button instead.

Since the entire site shares its localStorage pool, this lets us to a lot of other stuff, such as this:

There's a lot going on there, but to break it down, the collection (seeds only for now, named goodies like !nigel have their own thing) is now a whole page with a host of useful widgets that allow you to do all of the old analysis & splicing plus more, like rotating colors:

Ah, but what's "rs"? To use stuff like the seed swap, you'd previously have to manually discard seeds, but now you can discard from the collection (rs=raw seedstuff=size of your discard pile). Speaking of, the seed swap:

Seeds are cheaper on average now, cost raw seedstuff, AND the middle seeds are themed together instead of using the rarity system.

First though, I'd really like to thank the Alpha testing squad, as well as everyone else who's stopped in on the thread. Your kind comments kept me going Thanks also to (hugely overlapping group) the community artists who stepped up to make this update as wild as it is: RedRevival, AngryMothNoises, and Rat & Reaver (Felspring) together contributed 11 new bases, and I don't have to tell you that they absolutely slap. Here's some freebs covering a fragment of their work, some of mine, and some classics to welcome new folk:

CvXaTCOigo, CxqYjB-ZQZ, CyZP9CEqHP, CtDc8COk8V, Ch1jfB+P4k, CrKwiBxKz9, CVBpOCTgM1

And thank you, reader, for checking out the tool! I hope you like it.

Finally, like I said, the tool's not done (though I might be taking a breather for NotN). Here's a one-question poll (with seeds :]) to help me choose what to do next.
You can view breakdowns of the options here.

To-Do list fixup

The to-do list was one of the first things I got done (because I need it, hah), and it's a little aged compared to the rest. I'm planning to do some touchups. Instead of having the static list and dropdowns, have an "add task" button that lets you pick your plant right there. Store active tasks in memory so they'll last through page refreshes. Add a button for deleting completed tasks in a visually satisfying way to please my lizard brain. General GUI touchups because it looks a LITTLE ROUGH.

Documentation & Responsiveness

While I've done a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff to make it less bad, the tool's still pretty sprawling and very very obviously made by a backend dev. This would include making on-tool documentation (help text and the like), more passes for phone form factors (again, they're better than they were, but still), more hovertext, stuff like that. Note that this doesn't include accessibility--ping me with accessibility issues so I know about/can tackle them ASAP. Ex: if your required level of zoom causes stuff to become unreachable or illegible, you can't make out an image (and it doesn't have titletext), required gesture causes strain. Documentation & Responsiveness is more stuff like removing the need to horizontally scroll on a portrait-mode phone.

Bingo expansion

Bingo is better but could be even better. One thing I'm absolutely doing is making the "added challenges" a checkbox instead of radio button (meaning you can pick multiple categories) and adding a "lv19+ venue" option to put fodder-related tasks under. But I'd also like to internally reorganize the challenges (ex: something can be both "harder" AND "NotN" instead of just adding the NotN challenges to the Harder set), maybe add some subtle but tasteful click sounds when a square is chosen, make the neglected "Self-Care Extras" board able to take custom challenges, stuff like that.

Garden creator 2.0

This buggy buddy! It's usable but incomplete. I think? most folks use this tool for the collection aspect, so I focused on that for 2.0, but I love making gardens and do want to get this thing fully operational. Also make it less confusing to use.

Goodies in the collection

You'd think this'd be easy and already in...so, the new collection is focused around the functionality of the plant creator and seeds. But named seeds (aka goodies, !nigel and co.) are a completely different beast. They act like seeds in the garden maker, but it's kind of like how mushrooms are more related to animals (wildcard images) than plants. So there'll be a wide surface for bugs here, and I do want to tackle it, but prioritized on how people use them (collectibles vs using a lot in gardens and the like)

More achievements

Related, now that goodies (named seeds) properly show in the tool, I brought back achievement goodies! They never left, I just didn't publicize them at all. Stuff like the little birds and nature sprites. I'm down to add lots more if there's interest.

More thorough backups/debug

Right now, the seed list is the only thing covered by the backup. Other stuff (most importantly, probably, raw_seedstuff) is not covered for the simple reason that I'd have to do stuff involving file dialogues and exposing the localStorage to direct manipulation, which'll take time. So again it's a matter of prioritizing: if people use the tool across a lot of browsers/devices and (with the former especially) can't sync localStorage, this is a much higher priority, since backups could act as a "save file". But if folks mostly use it on one device, not so much.
