She loved him with her whole heart and the two of them had three hatchlings. But what the mirror did not know, and what her mate did not tell her was that the darkness, still being a considerable thread to dragonkind, had corrupted the male long before they ever met. One day it took him over completely, and the male took their children and fed them to the darkness, before disappearing for good. The place that used to be their nest was now empty, save for a single bleeding heart flower that grew in its middle. For days, the mirror stayed next to the nest, paralyzed in grief. That was until a lonely Fae wandered by and found her. She stayed with the mirror and told the story of how her parents had abandoned her. The two decided to stay together. Not long after, another dragon came by. The skydancer came from a coldhearted clan where he was raised to do the work of a slave until said clan got attacked, giving him the opportunity to flee. The three dragons decided to stay together and established a small clan in the Everbloom Gardens. Realizing that they all were connected by the pain they had to endure in their past, and being inspired by the poisonous Bleeding Heart Flower still growing where once a nest was, they decided to call themselves the Bleeding Heart Clan and go by the names of flowers, reminding them of their meaningful past. [/columns] [columns][size=4] A few other dragons gathered with time. The young mirror was now called Lavender, and despite the hopes of the others, she refused to be the small clan's leader. Instead, she entrusted the title to a childhood friend, a beautiful orphaned Skydancer. She took the name Snowdrop and established her status as the leader of the Bleeding Heart Clan. Lavender, Snowdrop and Zinnia continued taking in lost and hurting dragons, promising them a safe and peaceful home. No one knows where the mirror male, who they now called "Poppy" (a reference to a red flower containing a drugging essence) went. But they all know, in the clan built on betrayal, pain, but most importantly faith, that their story is not over yet.
