So, I'm considering setting up USD payment for my art shop. I don't plan to change my FRC prices or anything, it just seems like a useful thing to have. It boggles my mind that anyone would pay real, actual money for one of my pixels, but who am I to stop them if someone wanted to? My main question pertains to pricing. I feel like my FR currency prices are reasonable - here they are for reference, all are colored, shaded, etc to the best of my abilities. All pricing threads I've consulted, and the fact people are commissioning me with them, have led me to the conclusion that these make sense, and the results feel worthwhile for my work.
96*96 pixel sprite - 200g
Signature-sized sprite + boxes to form a custom signature - 200g base, +15g per extra element
250*250 fullbody portrait - 300g
Full-size fullbody with more detail, up to 1024*768 and traditional base lines - 400g
These all seem reasonable FR currency-wise, but their USD translated equivalents feel too low. I can do more with 200 gems here than I can with 2 dollars irl, yk? But I feel like putting my USD prices substantially above my FRC ones to be something that feels equally worthwhile wouldn't be right either since I don't feel like my work's honestly worth that much if real currency is discussed. So, what should I do? I could do straight-up PWYW USD as a pop-up shop, I guess, but that'd feel weird if I have an established flat price FRC shop right there.

a pwyw usd currency shop sounds ok to me! I don't think it's weird at all to treat usd differently from fr currency. you could definitely also just set a minimum like, usd base prices start at $5 or whatever you think is the lowest you'd want for a usd commission.

Yeah, I was thinking 5 dollars as the cutoff, since that's about the minimum amount of USD that feels worthwhile to me and I can't justify asking for more than $10-15 for anything I do given my skill level and that it's purely digital

I've decided that I'm going to set up a pop-up shop later today offering art for Google Play credit. I'm still looking at options for direct USD payment, but this would be a way to test the waters and determine if, and how much, people are willing to pay for my art in RLC without having to find a specific platform first. Plus I need incubators. Unfortunately, I can't do straight PWYW due to gift code restrictions.
