Howdy! Long art post ahoy!
I've been on vacation the last week and I have to go back to work tomorrow *yawn*
I didn't get as much art done as I would have liked but it was a nice break at least... I was going to split post these into two but since idk when I'll have more time to post I'm just going to do it all at once ^^

I do a lot of straight to pen sketching in my sketchbook and treat it a bit like a journal so there's a lot of messy scribbles and writing haha... hopefully it all looks decent I only have my phone for photos and editing atm ^^;

Phew sorry for the image heavy post!! Hope you enjoyed getting a little peek in my thought process haha .. there is more I'd like to post but I have to edit out some of my more personal Journaling out first ^^;

I'm amazed at how precise and clean your drawings can be even if they seem directly drawn with a black lining pen ? How ?

Ahh thank you so much ;w; smol Francis is a cutie although even grown up with a couple years in the woods he's still pretty cute haha

Clothing is my enemy it's next on my list of things to practice a lot haha

And thank you ;w; my skerching in pen habit formed after I had a terrible art loathing period years ago where I thought everything I drew had to be "absolutely perfect" so I would spend so long drawing and erasing over and over again and end up with nothing to show for it. I think back then I only finished 14~ pages in like 2 years because of that.

I started drawing only in pen to force myself to actually have sketches I could look back on later and never looked back! Pen is really great because you start learning to be a lot more confident in your line placement and how to fix/hide mistakes

Nowadays though I will sketch lightly in blue lead for drawings I'd like to render very clean and accurate, even then though I try not to spend to much time on that part of the process haha

That's actually a really good way to learn lining confidence (and line confidence means quicker drawing process!), I really should give a go to that technique too ! I'm definitely keeping this in mind

Hello! More sketchbook pages ^^
I've been playing around with brush pens lately, they have such a lovely dry texture feel and work really wonderfully for organic lines and scenery

^ here I'm using a pentel sign brush pen, it's super nice and small but hurts my hand to use for long periods of time @×@

And those last two images I filled one of those water brush pens for watercolor with calligraphy ink, since the brush still had some water in the tip the first little while of using it the ink was super washed out but I kind of liked it too... maybe I'll get another pen and use a 50/50 ink to water ratio in that one
And oh look some Imperial doodles of my boy Crow on here :^3

Also I need to say I love the way you do mermen ! (I don't know if they're the same character ? Haircut is similar but fins are different, one seems more shark-like and the other more fish-like)

I really enjoy the concept of Merfolk, drawing their fishy bits are so much more fun then having to draw legs haha. These are two different random designs, I'm predictable though and love drawing undercut hair so a lot of the time that becomes the default :,^D

Aaaa thanks for the pretty art dump, always a pleasure to wake up to that kind of treat c:

Also if I may : you are so good with background objets. It's not only the trees and nature, that buildings parts (house, fence, etc) are A-tier too ! It's so hard to be able to draw both characters and backgrounds with accuracy and consistency, and to be able to put any of them on the foreground when needed.

(also that hand in the last panel ?! Holy Noodledad I already noticed you had a solid grasp on hands, and that's not the least to say as every artist know, but I can't stay silent about it ! You're doing such a great job with Francis' hands, too - they're clawed but never look off, nor too human. They always seem different, but natural !)
