You chose: Covered entryway
Your path: Bamboo Forest (Wind Cave)
You decide to investigate the covered entrance at the back. You've just gotta know what's behind those curtains. you pass some barrels and crates as you make your way through the main chamber, but you stay on target. Reaching a claw through, you slowly pull back one side of the curtains. What greets you is a dark stairwell spiraling further into the rock. Might as well check out what's down there, you figure, and so you slowly descend. After a while you pause. You could swear you just heard something... Suddenly you hear a soft rustle from just ahead of you. As you crane your neck around the bend, you are met by the sight of a giant serpent poised to strike. No time to react, you brace yourself and screw your eyes shut as it lunges at you. You yelp as you're knocked over onto the stairs behind you, and start frantically clawing at the beast before noticing that it's made of cloth and paper. As your panic turns to confusion you hear giggling from further down the stairs. Craning your neck around the now-ruined kite, you see what looks to be a very fluffy fae dragon. He seems to be adorned in colorful kite fabrics and various shiny little baubles including a makeshift glow-stone lantern affixed to his tail. He flies up the stairs, and lands on your snout.

"Heeheeeeee! You shoulda seen your face!" He takes a deep breath before continuing, "Hooo, sorry, I couldn't help it. It was toooo perfect! Plus you're the first person we've seen down here in... wait you are a person, right?"
He pokes you a couple times with dimly-glowing, blue claws.
You shoo him off of you, a little annoyed that he got the best of you.
"Really though, I'm sorry..." He huffs as he lands on one of the steps a bit further down, "Hey, if you're headin' down here, you must be pretty brave! Didja know there's a monster or two living somewhere down there? I'll stick with ya so you don't get snuck up on. Oh! And I'm Ausket by the way." He bleps.
The little guy is not making you anymore eager to delve into the dark corridors just outside the door at the bottom of the stairs, but you're not backing down now. You'll find a way home yet.
"Oh, wait! lemme go grab a couple things." He flies back up the stairs before returning with a number of items, including a comically large rubber ducky.
"Here, choose one." He pants as he lands in front of you.

You chose: Illuminated Room
Your path: Bamboo Forest (Wind cave)
You decide to inspect the chamber with the light sifting out from it. The room is a mess. bolts of fabric litter the floor on one side as well as the table in the center of the room, and you notice what looks like a bed made in the shelving in the back left corner among some rolls of unfussed cloth and treated paper. In the light cast by the single glowing crystal placed in the iron brazier near the door, you see a small collection of items as well resting on the table, shiny things mostly. A pocket watch, some coins and small crystals, an odd trinket that you have no idea what it's function could be, a pebble shaped like a spiral, a nocturn plush, and even a rubber ducky. It would seem this place isn't as abandoned as you'd thought... Suddenly you hear a soft rustle from behind you. As you turn around to scan the room again you are met by the sight of a giant serpent poised to strike. No time to react, you brace yourself and screw your eyes shut as it lunges at you. You yelp as you're bowled over, and start franticly clawing at the beast before noticing that it's made of cloth and paper. As your panic turns to confusion you hear giggling from the doorway. Craning your neck around the now-ruined kite, you see what looks to be a very fluffy fae dragon. He seems to be adorned in colorful kite fabrics and various shiny little baubles including a makeshift glow-stone lantern affixed to his tail. He flies across the room, and lands on your snout.

"Heeheeeeee! You shoulda seen your face!" He takes a deep breath before continuing, "Hooo, sorry, I couldn't help it. It was toooo perfect! Plus you kinda deserved it for thinking about stealing my stuff... wait, that was what you were thinking about doing, right?"
He pokes you a couple times with dimly-glowing, blue claws.
You shoo him off of you, a little annoyed that he got the best of you, as you point out that, no, that wasn't what you'd been thinking at all... probably.
"Really? I'm sorry..." He huffs as he perches himself on the corner of the table, "Hey, I know! lemme show ya around! ya know, whenever you're ready that is. Oh! And I'm Ausket by the way." He bleps.
You take a short break as Ausket gathers a few things, listening to him tell you his thoughts on the objects around the room as you look around before letting him know you're moving on. He darts ahead of you pointing out things he found interesting as you go. He guides you down a few paths that lead you to the heart of the wind that has been playing through this cavern system.
"-- And this one is one of my favorite rooms! Just jump into the wind, and 'Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!', away ya go! just, uh, look out for the rocks."
You look out over the yawning chasm. Howling wind deafens you as you look down, and you notice a few other openings dotting the walls. Looking up you see more openings, but one in particular catches your eye. Above it is a large carving of the wind flight's symbol. You point it out to Ausket.
"Ooh, that one? that'll be tricky, but it's doable... Oh, here! Maybe one of these will help." he lays out 3 items that he'd been hauling around as you had been traveling. He then turns, frames the opening you're aiming for between his claws, nods to himself and takes a running start, leaping into the swirling tempest. "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" You watch as he's sent spiraling around and up the column, and, spectacularly, right into the opening you had pointed out.
Blinking away your disbelief, you assess your options:

You chose: The Kitchen
Your path: Bamboo Forest
Okay, so maybe it's your stomach that drove you to the kitchen more than curiosity, but that's not the point. You're here now, and it is indeed a kitchen. And so, your search for snacks begins. pots and pans adorn the wall hooks, a huge soup pot occupies a central fire pit, and a wash basin with several dishes in it sits in one corner. Desiccated herbs line one wall above a stoic line of barrels, the opposite wall is host to mostly empty shelves and a long table for prepping food which is tucked into the corner. You manage to find a few jars of preserved foods that seem edible, or at least mostly edible, and are working on opening one when you hear something behind you... you whip around and are met by the sight of a giant serpent poised to strike. no time to react, you brace yourself and screw your eyes shut as it lunges at you. You are bowled over into one of the barrels, and start frantically clawing at the beast before noticing that it's made of cloth and paper. As your panic turns to confusion you hear giggling from the entryway to the room. Craning your neck over the lip of the barrel and the now-ruined kite, you see what looks to be a very fluffy fae dragon. He seems to be adorned in colorful kite fabrics and various shiny little baubles including a makeshift glow-stone lantern affixed to his tail. He flies across the room, and lands on your snout.

"Heeheeeeee! you shoulda seen your face!" He takes a deep breath before continuing, "Hoooo, sorry I couldn't help it. It was toooo perfect! Plus you're the first person we've seen down here... wait you are a person, right?"
He pokes you a couple times with dimly-glowing, blue claws.
You shoo him off of you, and begin trying to pull yourself out of the barrel, clawing for purchase on the wall behind the herbs.
*Click!*
you hear stone grind as part of the wall behind you opens begins to slide away.
"Ack! I'm sorry!" The strange fae squeaks as he dives behind one of the other barrels. After a moment, you manage to get yourself out the barrel, and you stand staring at the secret passage that you've accidentally discovered. "Oooh, coooooooool!" You hear him whisper and look down to see he has slinked over beside you to get a look at it too. You both stand there for a moment before you begin moving barrels from in front of the doorway. He perches on one of the other nearby barrels. "So whadda ya think is in there, huh? I mean, it's gotta be interesting if it's behind a secret door, right? ooh, ooh, hold on! Lemme go get some stuff before we go in!" You roll your eyes as he disappears into some other room, but decide you might as well wait for him. Besides, you still have a snack jar to open. You manage to get it open, and what do you know, the contents aren't half bad. The fae eventually returns with some items rolled up in a bolt of colorful kite cloth trailing behind him, lifted with wind magic you can only assume.
"Oki, ready! Oh, I'm Ausket by the way." He grins at you and bleps. You introduce yourself as you start into the hidden passage. As you both traverse the dark corridor Ausket explains that he's been living down here for several moons probably, exploring the old passages, describing the things he's discovered. From what he's found, it sounds like the previous residents were kite makers and magicians, and it makes sense given all the kites you saw down the music filled tunnel when you entered. You both pause as you come to an odd chamber. the floor in the center of the room is slightly inset and covered in an interesting weave of bamboo and cloth. Wind pours from several evenly spaced openings in the wall, and you notice a painted stone sits beneath each. The room is circular except for the flat stone directly ahead of you which is covered in an intricate pattern of intersecting lines and bears an inscription. It reads,
'As the wind rose from the cold sea, captured in sunlit sails, twice to its tail were tied. Until, at last, on sands of golden sun they land as one. Free now the wind that stokes the fire in our hearts, filling the four corners of the world with its song. Welcome all who carry the wind in their heart as though you would on its festival.'

Huh, is that supposed to mean something? You sit there pondering for a time before Ausket pipes up again. He's been darting around the room whilst you were thinking.
"Do ya think it it could be some kinda puzzle? Lookit," he points up above one of the openings in the wall, "There are symbols carved over these holes. See?"
You inspect each opening and find they do indeed each have a carving above them depicting an element. Specifically, there is one for fire, water, light, and wind. Hmm, he's right. It does seem like a puzzle. Maybe you should try plugging the holes with the painted stones? Hmmm...
"Oh! maybe one of these will help?" Ausket chirps as he plops the bundle of items he's been "carrying" down, and unfurls the cloth, revealing the following:

You chose: Rest
Your path: Bamboo Forest (Rain Cave)
You pull up one of the mats to the water's edge, and lay down and take a drink from the cool refreshing water. It's rather relaxing listening to the echoing music drifting into this cavern and the sound of trickling water. After a while you decide to take a dip in the pool, and soon find yourself treading water. It turns out this thing goes pretty deep. But just how deep you wonder. You pull some magical energy from the amulet and will a zephyr to surround you as you dive, creating a bubble. The column of water just seems to keep going forever. You start to worry that your magic might fade before you reach the bottom, but just then you see something strange. The end of the pit comes into view, but it's under the glassy dome of a pocket of air. You right yourself and spread your wings as much as you can within your own bubble, preparing to land as the light from your amulet dances across the surface below. As you merge your bubble with the air pocket below you are deposited onto a pile of treasure someone had stashed here. Aside from the treasure, you notice two things; One, that enchanted wind keeps the pocket of air from collapsing, and two there's a small tunnel leading off into darkness as well.
You find an old satchel in the pile of items, and stuff as many items that interest you into it before delving into the tunnel. It hurts to leave so much behind, but there's no way you can carry it all. The tunnel is roughly hewn, and at places you have to crawl through, but eventually you come to a dead-end with a lever.
Of course you're gonna pull the lever, you'd be crazy not too, right? So you pull the lever, and the wall on your left begins to slide away revealing... a kitchen? Curiosity beckons you into the room--

You chose: Run!
Your path: Bamboo Forest (Dark Cave)
Your eyes lock for 2 seconds of eternity. Then, you bolt. The beast is on top of you in an instant, and you make a panicked turn down one of the other corridors, but the beast takes a clean swipe catching your leg as it skids past. You stumble, but adrenaline keeps you moving. You hear it behind you, and don't dare look back, zig-zagging through corridors until you come across an undamaged familiar pen and dive in. You hope the beast is far enough away that it won't find you in there immediately as you press yourself into the corner and stow your amulet beneath you. Holding your breath, you listen, and a moment later the beast goes rushing past your hiding spot. It seems like hours pass as you lay there, you eventually let out a shaky breath once you're convinced it isn't about to come back for a more thorough investigation, but you don't dare yet leave. Pain pulses through your leg where the thing had clawed you, and you've decided it best not to look at it until you can get out of this horrible maze of corridors. You've set your gaze on the wall closest to where it last disappeared as you count the seconds. So focused were you that when you heard the "pssst!" from the opposite side of your little box of safety, you nearly jump out of your scales at the sound.
"Hey, follow." The green-eyed shadow whispers to you. It fiddles with something, and suddenly there's a small glowing yellow crystal hanging from what you can now see is it's tail. "quick, quick!" it encourages as it scampers out of the enclosure. You follow the bobbing little light as it goes, making out the silhouette of a fae in the dim glow, whilst keeping your amulet buried in your chest so you don't give off more light. Eventually you reach a doorway and both dart inside. Leaning heavily against the door as it shuts, you slide down, collapsing in a heap there.
"Oooh, that looks like it hurts..." The little fae is examining your injured leg "Maybe I can help. Here, hold still."
You hear him mutter something under his breath and make a flowing gesture before a soothing breeze envelopes you, and, to your surprise, the pain pulsing through your leg fades away.
"There! All better, yeah? Oh, and I'm Ausket by the way. Nice tah meetcha!" He chirps.
You look over your leg then back to the little guy. He looks to be a very fluffy fae dragon, and appears to be adorned in colorful kite fabrics and various shiny little baubles including a makeshift glow-stone lantern affixed to his tail.

You introduce yourself and thank him.
"Ooh, ooh! since you're here, ya wanna check out the rest of the place, huh?" He pokes you as you both make your way away from the dark corridors. You figure you might as well since he seems to know his way around at the very least. Ausket beams as he takes the lead, pointing out things he found interesting as you go. He guides you up into the main chambers of an old lair, stopping momentarily to pick up a few things, and down a few paths that lead you to the heart of the wind that has been playing through most of this cavern system.
Blinking away your disbelief, you assess you options:
1. try using the gust gatherer.
