Lin began helping Pan with restoring the garden to what the clan had originally wanted it to be, by helping him as he ventured out from the treehouse to gather seeds and flowers to plant in it, and together they slowly began building it up, a few sprouts beginning to poke above the soil as they gently cared for the new plants.

Here we go, today's update. Not much happening in this, but I think I need a little metaphorical break after having caught up with everything. That's not saying I'm taking a break, I'm just not going to be writing any longer paragraphs of text unless it's a writing day and/or something happens like a new dragon joins, until I've had a little breather :)
Easy to pin to clothing, hard to pin to scales. (Special thanks to Amehime!)

Pan and Lin spend the slightly drizzly day playing and training with Maggey outside. Everyone was hoping that if Maggey trained further she'd become less clumsy in her everyday life, especially since she was so graceful and natural when it came to fighting. But the transference of skills hadn't happened yet, even if everyone was hoping it would.

The day was filled with showers and sun, though that didn't stop Pan and Lin from tending to the garden again, Azami coming out to help when she saw them working together. And although they all got rather damp working out in the showers, they made a lot of progress and were all very happy with what they'd accomplished.

Lin
Lin left her home in the Southern Icefield, tired of the cold and the ice, even if she looked to most as the perfect ice dragon with her icy translucent wings. Being a fae dragon, she'd had to wrap up warm in the snow and ice, or stay close by a warm fire as she wasn't equipped with the thick fur of tundras or feathers of a coatl. The trek from the Southern Icefield to the Windswept Plateau over the icy sea was tough for the tiny fae. She'd carried as much food as she could with her, but even with all those supplies, she'd barely made it to land, and had walked the rest of the distance to the treehouse of her new clan. At first she wasn't sure if she would stay with the small clan, but she quickly grew close to Pan and then Maggey, seeing the latter almost as her own hatchling, especially since Maggey was a fellow ice dragon.
Lin is a very kind and friendly dragon, and very softly spoken, though is very expressive with her crests, even if it's something the other dragons can struggle to pick up on. Though everyone is slowly beginning to understand the subtle gestures of her crests and despite the sometimes confusion in communication, Lin has never once felt out of place within the clan. And she finds the Windswept Plateau much warmer and better suited for her than the harsh cold of the Southern Icefield.

Biography time and today we have Lin's current bio written out. The tiny little fae didn't much like the cold of the Southern Icefield and I can't blame her.

"These are the finest eggs I've ever laid eyes on, and that's the truth!" Pan announced proudly as he looked down at the two gently rocking eggs Lin was curled around.
The pair had gone out for the evening, and had returned with Pan very gently cradling two eggs. Everyone had been surprised, but also rather excited, especially after seeing just how excited Pan and Lin were about their small clutch of eggs. And after a few adjustments had been made to Fei and Piper's room, the two eggs had been placed inside on a soft nest of blankets and next to a small gentle fire to keep them warm, though that hadn't stopped Lin from curling herself protectively around the eggs.
"They're beautiful." Lin agreed, crests fanning proudly as she gently nudged one of the eggs back into place that had bounced itself away from her slightly.
"And I bet the hatchlings inside will be loverly little dragons too." Pan added, smiling happily as he curled himself up next to Lin, gently resting his head on her as he closed his eyes with a happy sigh.
"I'm sure they will be." Lin agreed again, crests twitching softly and happily as she looked down at the eggs. "I can't wait for them to hatch!"
"Me neither!"

Pan and Lin are definitely much happier about being parents than Azami and Brush were, and they're a little more prepared too, especially since the clan had already built a small nesting area.
There are 4 more incubation periods left.

And by the end of the day, the two rather bedraggled sisters returned to the treehouse and curled up in front of the fire where they promptly fell asleep.

Guess who fell asleep halfway through battling again! It's pretty common for me to fall asleep in the coli if I start later at night, I think it's just the repetition cause the same happens if I'm grinding in something like pokemon too. But anyway, I finished off battling today and Ixx levelled up to level 10 and Fei and Piper both reached level 11. And I completed all 40 battles in the Sandswept Delta.
Also I think I forgot to incubate the nest yesterday? But we've got 3 incubation periods left on that.

"Oh, it's the start of the Wavecrest Saturnalia tomorrow..." Azami commented softly as she looked out of the window at the sudden rain shower that had started. "Should we... celebrate?" She asked after a small pause of listening to the rain.
"Why not? Might be fun." Sketch was the first to reply, surprising both Azami and Brush as they looked over at him. His voice was still flat and lacking his usual bounce and energy, but he seemed a little more cheery today at least.
"Well, I guess we can give it a go. Though we won't have many decorations up before tomorrow." Azami said with a small shrug.
Maybe it would be nice for them to have another little celebration. Of course it would hurt having so many of their clan members missing, but it might also be fun. Fei and Piper would certainly enjoy it, and the newer members of the clan would also have fun, and it wasn't quite fair for them to not celebrate it.
"I'll see if Fei, Piper and Maggey want to make any paper decorations." Brush said, getting to his feet and leaving the room.
Their treehouse wouldn't be very decorated, but they'd make an effort with what little time they had left.

Despite how little time they'd had to prepare, the clan had managed to put together a few decorations to hang around the treehouse, paper models of fish, coral and seaweed, and Pan had headed out with Azami to the Trading Post where they'd bought a few of the more traditional Water Flight dishes to share with the rest of the clan. And while it had been hastily prepared, it seemed that so far everyone was enjoying themselves.
-----

The Wavecrest Saturnalia was always a time to look towards the future, especially now so with the Tidelord still missing from his deep realm. And while the festival was tinged with sadness, especially in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, all dragons of all flights looked towards a time when the Tidelord returned, and what prophecies were still known were told and spread throughout Sornieth.
The celebration was also a time for teaching young hatchlings the great importance of water; how plants, beastclans and dragons alike all relied on it to sustain them wherever they lived, even in arid regions like the Shifting Expanse. And it was also a time for beauty and crafting, where hatchlings and adults alike would go scavenge for shells along beach fronts and craft sculptures with their spoils.
Those seashell decorations often then went to decorate lairs and homes, garlands of seaweed and beautiful coral placed among the crafted decorations, and often beautiful water displays were put on by skilled water dragons, telling tales of past prophecies and future prophecies too, for whole clans to enjoy.

Pan spent the day educating the dragons of how important water could be, using the clan's little garden as an example, and taking everyone out on a trip to the Singer's Brook, an outing that everyone enjoyed as they splashed and played amongst the waterfalls and streams. And although not much was learnt, a lot of fun was had from everyone involved.
-----
-----
The clan's decorations for the Wavecrest Saturnalia were much smaller than they had been for previous festivals, with less extravagance and more simplicity, due to the lack of time they'd had to prepare for the celebration. But what they'd managed to create were hanging paper decorations of fish, seaweed and corals, all colourful and bright, and surrounding them a few paper chains in various blues, greens and whites to mimic the colour of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. And while the paper decorations had been crafted by Brush, Fei, Piper and Maggey, Lin and Azami had headed out to find what few seashells they could and brought them back to the lair, scattering them about.
And so, while the decorations were lacking a little more than usual, and lacking a little more than other clans would be, the small clan decorated as much as they could. And they prepared what few stories they knew of the Water flight to tell to the younger dragons, and Pan promised to teach the importance of water, knowing more than the others in the clan of this, coming from the arid region of Dragonhome.
With the treehouse decorated, and stories and teachings planned, the celebrations began, with enjoyment and merriment coming from the newer and younger dragons, and while the older dragons of the clan celebrated alongside everyone else, the festivities for them were tinged with sorrow as they remembered their missing clanmates.
