The Clan of Waiting. What a peculiar name for a clan, am I right? To explain; it generally serves as an outpost for traveling dragons of Sornieth. Dragons 'wait' at this clan's territory before moving on with their travels.
They provide freshly harvested food for any visitors, a place to sleep, and even offers amazing architecture. Entertainment, shops, dragons of all backgrounds and personalities, gather around each day, walking down paths, and hanging around in the bazaar, docks, temples or beach.
The coastline of the Blacksand Annex, the Clan of Waiting being located in between the border of The Ashfall Waste and the Sea of a thousand currents. The mixture of the fire and water regions, the flowing lava, and stirring water causes mountains of obsidian to form, in which dragons carve out caves and architecture to live in, including other materials, as well.
The clan's territory is at the edge of the sea, the heat coming from the Annex creates a scalding mist-like fog to bask the area of the beaches. As a waterful of lava and magma dribble down. The oxygen is stale and the area is stuffy and smokey. You get used to it.
Beautiful sights at the cliffside towering over the wood docks and beaches, clearly shows the gorgeous orange-tainted sky. The most unique feature of the clan is the jungle, and forests hidden below the cliff. It's unexpected and pretty, the colourful leaves, and exotic fruits. The trees clear out breathable oxygen, and is full of life. Often members of The Clan of Waiting love to brag about how wonderful and diverse their territory is.
The architecture is the clan's pride and joy. From palaces, to pillars, temples and even boat docks. This area is not a typical Fire clan, they take thing to the next level with the resources they have. Appreciating every bit of it.
Welcome to The Clan of Waiting! Hope you enjoy your stay~[/columns]

Oh, hi there! I'm Bobby, you can call me Wait. Click here for an intro about me. This is my clan, The Clan of Waiting's lore. Being a hobbyist writer, I wanted to create small stories and background surrounding my dragons and the area they settle in. Here you'll find brief information about my dragon's personalities, alongside story like-interactions with each other, and generally how my clan runs.
The first few posts will be introductions explaining, but as I get deeper in, I might write daily (or weekly) short stories. If you're interested in reading, please let me know, I'd be more than happy to create a pinglist. If there are any suggestions, or if you'd like me to read your own lore so I could give suggestions, or maybe connect our clans in some way, don't be afraid to PM me. I'm always happy to talk. <3
Most of my dragons are themed after the ancient Uzbekistan culture, with all the warm colors and exotic townsfolk vibe. The beautiful Indian architecture inspired me, and most of the names of dragons.
And now, without further ado, the post right below, and all the rest past it, is my work-in-progress lore.

Four tall marble pillars stand at the entrance, past the stone staircase leading to the lush forest. Moss covers the surface of some, while rust seeps into the others, thanks to the fiery atmosphere.
Ancient looking, yet slightly chipped at the edges, these pillars are rumored that they hold knowledge of some sort.
Aside from these four, most famous pillars found at the front of the Clan of Waiting there are many columns found, supporting surrounding buildings in the residential areas, and small shrines within the jungle. You are considered a wealthy dragon if your home has a pillar.
Others tend to admire the architecture of these pillars. Legends say if you were to vandalize a pillar, you'd be cursed with bad luck for life. Some dragons are even afraid to accidentally touch them.
Though, this doesn't hide the fact that the clan is proud of them. They're beautiful, after all.[/columns]

Just regular ol' townsfolk. Eyup. Nothing strange here. These dragons enjoy wandering down the dirt path towards the harbor, to create pottery, collect minerals, water, or even to sell their goods.
This path earned the nickname as a Mudpit because of the moisture from the scalding-steam mist, making the dirt road all muddy and damp. Careful not to slip.
One time a hatchling got stuck in the mud here, and when dragons helped her free, she was unable to grow up into an adult due to the compressed swamp-like road. Crazy and logic-breaking.
There's now a rule for all hatchlings or smaller dragons wanting to walk on the path, that they have to ride on large adults while they trudge through the muck.
Most older dragons in the clan tend to love the mud, though. Sometimes they wallow in it to cool down during extremely hot days in the Fire region. More than the usual heat they're used to, of course.
Some like collecting the mud and bringing it to their domains, to create a mudbath, just for themselves. Honestly quite relaxing.

Behind the pillars and past the muddy path, there's lush greenery spreading everywhere. Bamboo huts are scattered around, gardens and orchids filled with every fruit or vegetable you can imagine.
It's something that's really surprising to see in the Fire region. With small stone statues and twisting vines, the jungle is thick and full of life.
The Clan of Waiting is allianced with a Clan in the Nature and Wind regions. The clan from the Everbloom Gardens offered seeds of various plants, which the Fire clan graciously accepted.
The territory being near a body of water, the plants flourished and became a huge jungle almost overnight, thanks to some of the mages' work. A clan from the Reedcleft Ascent donated huge amounts of bamboo. The Fire clan used the bamboo skins to create huts as makeshift shelters near farms, also mixed with straw and grass.
There are temples made out of rock and stone mined from the depths of the Molten Scar. Idols and statues are nearby, with plates of exotic fruits and flowers which is an offering to the Wanica spirits.
Overall, The Clan of Waiting's territory and jungle is very well-hidden, underneath a zenith, past a river of lava, it's really hard to spot these trees in the first place. At the same time, the plants grew heat resistant and lived through the harsh environment of The Ashfall Waste.

A huge gold palace created by some of the greatest architectural minds in Sornieth. Legends say it's blessed by the Flamecaller herself. It's also VERY VERY shiny.
Valuable statues and expensive silks are displayed inside. Filigree is encrusted at the edges of the structure, as it stays safe and hidden thanks the jungle's branches surrounding it.
Not too many know about it. In fact, it's best that others don't know about it. The Clan of Waiting owns this temple-like palace, with so many riches and jewels, that even dragon within the home-clan try to steal. Only specific dragons are allowed inside and have to take shifts, guarding the entrance. These dragons have to follow visitors inside to make sure they don't dare disrespect any of the artifacts.
The purpose of this palace is to worship and give thanks to the protectors of the clan, the Wanica spirits, in which many of the other temples are also focused on. This palace was the very place the Combatant spirits were born from in the first place, after being conjured.
Now, it stands as not only a place of worship but a place to admire. A place of perfection and beauty. Oh, and the clan also loves to throw ballroom parties in it. Just make sure the large dragons don't bump into the displays or chandelier.

The surprising clear-blue water looks quite tropical aside from the fact pure lava is pouring into the sea below. It's sort of like a hot tub. And luckily tons of fish enjoy the heat.
A large sturdy dock is located at the harbour, and many wooden boats are afloat there. Avoid the magma when fishing, or you just may burn a hole through your boat!
The water, (though a little warm and salty) tastes delicious, and is often used in herbal teas. Dragons often fetch the sea's water daily to bring them into stone caves to cool, before getting a refreshing drink from it.
A smaller cove is where dragons bathe, and wash their clothes. The area is sectioned off with pebbles, so the current of the bathwater thankfully doesn't mix with the drinking water.

Quite simply, a waterfall of lava. It dribbles and falls into the Samarqand sea, and has the tendency to create blocks of obsidian underneath, which the clan mines and uses to build structures.

Named after the lavafall that warms the eggs, this is The Clan of Waiting's hatching grounds. The eggs are sitting soaked in the lava from the lavafall. Don't mind the odd hatching techniques, it's just how all clans in the fire region raise their hatchlings. The babies, just before they hatch, are scooped out of the pool of magma, safe and sound.
Small caves are where their parents wait patiently for their eggs to see the light of day for the first time.

Serves as an outpost for dragons to meet representatives of an assigned clan they are being sent to. They travel with the dragon, leaving The Clan of Waiting, having waited long enough to find a new home.
Oh, and you can also purchase food, and apparel there! It's usually bustling with many dragons at once, so be careful not to get lost in the crowd.
Tents and colourful pieces of fabric are present as the domestic area of purchase are affordable, with only 50[emoji=treasure size=1] a piece of fruit.

A hotel building created out of natural materials. Bright flower petals are glued to a structure with greatshell tusk slime, as if it was some dragon's idea for a unique design so it could attract travelers to come stay.
Overall it's a wonderful 10/10, 5 full star rated hotel. The BEST hotel out of the whole clan. Well, the only hotel here, but you get what I mean. The flower petals smell very nice. And if you're a plant-eater dragon you can rip some of the petals off the wall, and have a midnight snack.
