Originally hailing from the Starfall Isles, Panacea was born into a clan fraught with conflict, terror, and bloodshed. The incessant battles for territory came to a head one day, when a dark cloud descended and a terrible storm brought what seemed like an ocean of rain- washing the warring clans to their watery deaths. Panacea, too young to fight, had been sheltering in the den, unaware that her parents and family had been swept away. So she waited. Hours turned into days, which turned into a full week before the weakened dragon finally fled, not caring where she was running- she found her feet and vanished, the eerie silence of their deserted land too much to stomach. Panacea’s journey led her to the Viridian Labyrinth, where she lost herself among the trees, relishing in seeing life again. She believes Gladekeeper blessed her, giving her soft moss to sleep on and regain her strength, and many bountiful rivers and creeks to catch fish. She quickly grew stronger, sustained by the forest around her, and before long she was fit enough to travel once more, deep into the Gladeveins. To her surprise, Panacea wasn’t alone- a small Imperial hatchling had been following her for some time, as had an older, quiet Imperial who had been curious as to where she had been hurrying off to. His name was Xanthos, and the hatchling’s Chai- and Panacea breathed a sigh of relief as her loneliness came to an end. The trio set about finding a more permanent home in this green paradise, recognising they couldn’t simply sleep on moss beds if they were to thrive here. And then they saw it. The valley stretched for miles, waterfalls cascading down its sides and casting their cooling sprays up into the air. Grassy verges with waves of hanging ivy overlooked the base, and they stood in awe of this new land, breathing in the fresh air. Though the concept of the village was to welcome all those in need of a home, Panacea soon found dragons with darker ideas. Practitioners of dark magic, or the power hungry, or the violent- they set up dens in the dense forests that hid them from prying eyes. One such dragon was Kassadin, a spiral with a penchant for all things hateful. Panacea soon noticed Kassadin’s following grow alarmingly fast, and tried desperately to keep him under control. A treaty was made, in order to ensure peace in Myrr, and for some time it seemed to have worked. What the dragons of Myrr didn’t know, however, was that he was simply biding his time. His own sect of the clan, which he named the Order of Hades, was growing. Dark dragons arrived from all over, keen to share their love of violence with other likeminded dragons, with the idea that one day they would overthrow Myrr and take it for themselves. With Panacea having no idea of their plans, they began studying even darker spells, and training for battle. Kassadin’s patience had worn thin, and when darkness fell one winter’s night, he gave the order to strike. His warriors lay siege to Myrr, burning the village to ash and killing indiscriminately. To them, the casualties did not matter- any dragon not quick enough to escape their wrath perished among the flames. Violent purple flashes of spellwork lit up the sky, as Myrr’s dragons fought desperately for their lives, but it wasn’t enough- their town had fallen. The surviving dragons scattered, most trying to stay together as they fled their home, watching it burn behind them. The sounds of the battle attracted nearby travellers, including an Imperial named Trifle, who heard the carnage and came to check on Myrr. He was horrified to see the town destroyed, and the sheer number of the dead. He recognised one of the Imperials hiding in the trees to be Chai, one vaguely familiar face he’d seen whenever he passed through Myrr. She was distraught, weeping, wanting to return to Myrr to look for survivors. He could clearly see, from having passed so close to the wreckage, that there were none to be found- but the pair began searching the surrounding forest instead, finding the escaped dragons terrified, but alive. Panacea was among the ones discovered to be safe, much to Chai’s relief, having feared deeply for her adoptive mother’s life. At a loss of what to do, Trifle ushered the broken clan towards the Light domain, swearing to them that their dead would not go unavenged.
