i. Overview

tisalilbitoftext
Little Ivywood is not a “clan”, strictly speaking. It’s more of a little town, where various dragons pass by. A few of them stick around and build their den on that territory. Others spend a night or two, and continue on their journey around Sornieth. Several townspeople technically live there, but travel a lot and are only occasionally around. In any case, the small community of Little Ivywood seems to be thriving !!

The town doesn’t really have a mighty façade or anything like that. However, you will be greeted by a thick wood sign on every entrance. Some brambles and roses grow around it, and the wood panel is carved and reads “Welcome to
Little Ivywood”. Behind these signs, the place is cleared out of a few trees and obstacles. That way, it’s much easier to move around. It also offers a much enjoyable view of the village !!

A river runs through Little Ivytown. It comes from the Driftwood Drag, and following it to the South/East leads to the Sea of a Thousand Currents’ shores.
Everyone living here has their own home. While the overall is rather harmonious (everyone has access to the same kind of building materials from Tangled Woods and the Scarred Wasteland), the dragons of the community build their den however they please, and each and every single of them is different.

Since the place is rather isolated, but probably also just because inhabitants are not that interested in technology… They live in a quite traditional way. There’s not a lot of machinery around here, and it seems esoterism and magic are the commonly chosen path for most townspeople.

Besides, Little Ivywood is known for its abundant lightning bugs population. The town has recently been caught into the Wandering Contagion, and it's now part of the Plague region: yet lightning bugs are still to be found. Their number decreased, but remains impressive.

iii. Townsfolks

Little Ivytown is “just” a place with a bunch of different dragons tossed together, just because they live here. As stated earlier, even though most townspeople know of each other, social links are loose.

However, a few dragons can be grouped.

lPhcfxy.png
The Fighters

A town built by the adventurers passing by obviously counts a lot of fighters among its residents.

These dragons are the most skilled fighters / hunters of Little Ivytown. Most of them are reachable through the guild. However, it’s clear that some of them are more of free spirits than others…

61683434.png

30546651.png
yes Napoleon Bone-Apart / Alchemist
Decently easy to reach. But you have to really want to… He’s quite the character. But go ahead, as long as your guts are well attached!

Enjorren / Mercenary & Bounty hunter
Reachable… sometimes. Depending of the job. Enjorren will show up much faster if there’s a lot of blood to shed. Even faster if it pays well.

Orca / Knight, Escort & Bounty hunter
Pretty easily reachable. Orca is a young warrior, she travels a lot looking for a meaning to her life. She’s very friendly though, and will gladly help anyone for about anything.

Voula / Hunter & Tracker
Very easily reachable. Voula is a skilled tracker. She hunts most of the town’s game, and she’s able to track nearly any beast.

Lance / Knight & Escort
Very easily reachable. Lance is a honorable knight, and will gladly assist and protect you if asked.

yes Eternum, guardian of the library / Cartographer & Astronomist
Eternum is CONSTANTLY hanging around the library. Come say hi! He’d be more than pleased to chat with you.

Longjohn / Mediator
Not a scholar strictly speaking, but the town’s mediator. Longjohn is very fond of history, and devours a new book every week.

Persephone / Mage
The imperial is learning arcane and shadow magic. Her energy and confidence bring a lot of life to the library ! When not around, you’ll easily find her downtown, in the Forgers’ street.

lPhcfxy.png
The Forgers

Little Ivytown’s best blacksmith and jewels makers. They share a big Forge, and their respective shops and home are standing in the same street.

62384644.png yes Winnifred / Blacksmith
The young, skilled blacksmith of Little Ivytown. She’s working at the forge most of the day, but loves a nice chat on her breaks.

yes Fuego / Warlock
The warlock of Little Ivytown is well-known for his eerie aura and mysterious remarks. But there’s no doubt he’s competent, and eager to help.

Samedi / Warlock apprentice
She might still be learning, but she’s already able to help her mentor a lot! Besides, she’s handling a good part of the transactions at the boutique already.

Definitely a worth-mentioning pair. Basque and Yetunth are not here that often: The couple travels a whole lot. Everyone living here knows they’re criminals. But at this point, they’re part of the community’s lore. They’re not even mean, they keep bringing gifts from their travels to everyone in town…

The young apprentice just put off her mask, she was cleaning the place. Truth to be told, this young woman made incredible progress in the past few months. Even though she lacked confidence for now, she was incredibly skilled and mature, and had fully unveiled her potential a while ago already. The old blacksmith brushed his beard with the tip of his claws. “Winnifred, could you give me a moment ?” he asked. The youngster stopped cleaning, giving him an intrigued look. “Sure ! What’s going on, master ?” He chuckled with amusement and leaned back more comfortably. “Well, firstly, you will have to stop calling me that. You surpassed the apprenticeship level long ago, Winni. We’re not mentor and apprentice anymore. You deserve the title of master blacksmith just as much as me.” She gasped, and started smiling wide-open. “Is this for real ?? Are we done with my tutoring ?? Am I a real blacksmith ??” she asked with mere excitement. “You still have much to learn, but it will not come from me. I taught you everything I know. We’re both “real blacksmith” now!” He pause. “ I don’t only have good news, however.” The young imperial calmed down, looking deep into her mentor’s eyes. As the silence got louder, she looked down at the Forge's ground. She knew what was happening, and she wouldn’t stop it: it saddened her, obviously, but she accepted it long ago. She just wished it wouldn't arrive so soon. “When are you leaving Little Ivytown ?...” she asked with a tiny voice. The old guardian smiled at her softly, and pushed his forehead against hers in a comforting gesture. “In a few day at most. My luminous protégé needs to leave. Their destinity is calling them elsewhere.” Winnifred closed her eyes. She knew her mentor couldn’t simply abandon his charge. “Will you ever come back ?” The forgemaster softly pulled away from her with a gentle expression. “Only the future can tell.” He looked at the young blacksmith with a burning flame in his eyes: The pride of a mentor witnessing how far their student went. Winnifred was a skilled artisan, a strong young woman, and she had a kind heart. It’s true she was not his charge: still he knew she would always be another of his protégés. “Thank you for everything, Winni. I’m proud I had the chance to teach you my art, and I’m glad you could teach me so much in return. I know this Forge has fantastic days to come, with you as its master.” He said. She didn’t answer and bit her inner cheek with emotion as he spoke. It was scary, but she couldn’t help but feel carried by the trust he put in her. “Even if I never come back, I will always keep you in my heart like a daughter. Pinglist: @TheAwesoMew (+ @Aversi because that's the baby you gifted me with the lore snippet <3) November 2020 Enjorren absent-mindedly bumped his forehead against Napoleon's wide shoulder. The Guardian picked down his pace, letting the legionnaire rest against his cuirass with a thin smile. "Well? What's up, is our almighty and invincible warrior tired, now? I thought you were more resourceful than that..." snickered the alchemist. The Skydancer grunted and hit his head against his companion's neck as a sole answer. "Certainly not. I'm barely fatigued. Stop annoying me, Napoleon. I went out of my way to see you. If anything, you should be grateful." The big lad chuckled. "Of course. I apologize for my misbehaving, sir. I should have known better." Enjorren glared at his companion with a cold expression. He then stood up on his back legs, climbed the Guardian's shoulder, and kissed his cheek. Napoleon let out a hoarse purr, and gave his acolyte a moment before he softly pushed him against the forest ground. He spread his wing on top of the Skydancer and laid down against him. Under the cover of the Guardian's wide wing, the mercenary relaxed and cuddled up against his playmate's chest. He let out a long sigh. "Any plan today? Anything specific you want to do?" The alchemist grinned silently, staring at the other. Enjorren, for once, smirked back at him. He rolled on his back as the cuirassed beast started nuzzling his cheek and neck. The Skydancer closed his eyes, and let go as his companion dropped soft kisses on his face and neck. He let his brain loose and allowed himself to relax some. "Ah, you're doing the puddle thing once more. For how long have you gone so tensed up again?" Napoleon chuckled, but his voice remained pretty soft. "Hmm. Just let me chill out. I might even compliment you if you shut up." The Guardian nodded solemnly and kept cuddling his pal. Suddenly, the Skydancer grabbed his carebear's snout to stop him, and started straightening up. "Hold on. Hold on. There's something." The big lad booped Enjorren's neck just under the jawline, with a 'come on, there's nothing' look. The knight didn't let go of him though, and started standing back up. "No Nap'! There's something." The two of them stood back up, Napoleon inspecting the surroundings as Enjorren's antennas twitched softly. The Skydancer started walking into a thicker part of Little Ivywood's sparse forest. The Guardian followed calmly. Soon enough, he sensed something as well, and the eerie green smokes twirling around his claws started glowing some more. The two dragons looked around for a moment before Enjorren pulled out a soft leather bag from between an old pine's roots. "What is this." Napoleon approached, and looked over the Skydancer's shoulder. "Well. It's a baby. You can tell because it's shaped like a dragon, but extremely small." The mercenary turned back at the alchemist with a judgmental and horrified look. "My analysis is irrevocable." added the big boy. "Why is there a baby here? Why is it alone?" He poked the bag with no specific care or gentleness. The tiny fae didn't even flinch, but the Guardian did pull the bag into his own claws, far from Enjorren's lack of caution. "Is it dead, Napoleon?" The respondent inspected the hatchling, took a few moments. "Not yet." He could sense broken souls, and this one wasn't broken quite yet. He picked up the note tucked inside the bag and gave it a careful look, front and back, before he handed it to Enjorren. "And that's your answer to why is there a baby alone in the middle of the forest." "Please, give her a home. We will not be coming back." The Skydancer read the note once, then twice. He read it a third time, out loud. Napoleon kept inspecting the tiny Fae, slowly figuring out the spell she was put under. When he looked back at Enjorren, the Skydancer was glaring at him with all of his feathers puffed up. "I refuse, Napoleon." "Babe! I didn't even say anything. Besides, of course you refuse. I know you and your tough boy evil edgelord thing. That's what makes you so charming." The Skydancer chirped aggressively. "First of all, it's not a tough boy evil edgelord thing?? I AM tough and powerful and I don't plan on waiting for the whole world to catch up." He kept chirping. "Of course. Yes." agreed Napoleon with a serious expression, but something that made it clear he was being sarcastic. "Second of all, none of us is qualified to-" The Guardian grinned. "AH! So you did think about it." The soldier glared at it companion again, and sighed with spite. "Fine. What now? We head back to Little Ivywood?" The alchemist nodded with a big smile, and a lot of enthusiasm. "Yup! I need Fuego's help to undo the spell she's put under anyway. Then we improvise. I know you're great at improvising. I've never seen a dragon as resourceful and determined as you." Enjorren calmed down a bit. "Flattery will get you everywhere. Only because you're a good looking fellow." He glanced back at the tiny hatchling that Napoleon was so carefully holding in his claws. "Where is your lack of morals and honor?" The guardian laughed loudly. "Enj'! She's roughly the size of a cabbage, and unconscious. I'll wait for her to be at least the size of a cat, and awake. C'mon, follow up." He started walking back to town, smiling at the Skydancer. "Besides, you seemed to like my occasional loving and gentle behavior earlier. If you can't handle me at my 'not letting abandoned babies die alone in the dark' soft, then you don't deserve me at my 'kissing and cuddling my fav himbo until he's a puddle with wings' soft." He winked at said fav himbo, and nuzzled his cheek as he joined him on the way back to Little Ivywood.
