The 'flesh' of the cactus is scooped out, carefully avoiding the spines and outer edges, and ground down. Wrap the resulting fibrous core in cheesecloth before placing in near-boiling water. Add frosted violets and halved acorns, and let steep until it has turned periwinkle. Sanddrift aconite petals are added to taste for that final spicy kick.
