Far above the picturesque landscape,
a mechanical island of stone and steel shields itself among the clouds...

Once a revered House of the Wayfinders' Sanctuary, the Clawdaunt Convent and its small cult following are driven to exile by the impulse of its power-hungry magi.

Those who came here to pursue enlightenment now have no choice but to flee along with their newfound home; a mostly self-sustained chunk of the Starfall Isles, bolstered by mechanics and magic alike, that cruises through the stratosphere, protected by cloaking devices and the order of trained Wayfinders who hone their fighting skills through meditation.

Pursued by vengeful Sanctuary assassins, the Convent has only its dwellers, its deities, and a head magus whose trustworthiness has been proven shaky at best...

i'm a fool on a quest to visit all of them.
i started in arcane, and that's where my clan's lore originated.

A faint shadow might pass overhead, and an observant
dragon might glance upwards to see the twisting entrails
and clinking gears of a machine beyond comprehension—
but a second glance will confirm that their eyes were merely
playing tricks on them.

The Underbelly

A particularly bold dragon could brave the gnash of
gears, the tangle of roots, and the bellow of steam to
make a repair on the underside of the Convent, and
that dragon might see that the furnace which powers
the island belches not smoke and flame, but deep

The Gardens

Once a flourishing nursery for cultivated plant life,
this terrace was a place of respite and meditation for
the weary. Since the island's exodus, however, even

dark arts... though removing these particular
documents results in harsh punishment.

The Magi's Chambers

Nestled in the hollow tip of the Convent's floating
spire, the resting place of its most powerful dragons
is draped in thick curtains, resplendent with artifacts
of questionable origin, and strictly forbidden to all
but the magi.

The Study

Expect this to be the last door you ever walk through.

But when you’re a young prodigy with a stubborn streak, the head magus might just come up with more creative ways for you to serve your convent...

It wasn’t long ago that the Convent gardens bloomed. Life abounded in verdant sprawls. Delicate lilies debuted in clusters of fuschia and white. Deep purple bursts of lupine, fireworking across an acre of wild plains, carried the light, sweet scent of home up to the very peak of the Spire.
Though Clawdaunt Convent had fled the Starfall Isles on their mechanical island, nobody expected it to stop smelling of home.

Taking repose on Light's eastern coast, home of a revered deity, surely all they had to do was lie low and avoid detection. But a young priestess long separated from the Wayfinders' laws has other ideas to introduce her clan to the traditions of the Light flight, no matter how dangerous it proves to be—for its dwellers, and for the unfortunate travelers who wander inside.

Long ago, a dragon who had waged a long war
laid down her weapons, closed her weary eyes
and went to sleep.

And those who followed her,
and those who loved her as a mother,
and those who adored her as a sister,
laid down their weapons, closed their eyes,
and joined her in an eternal slumber.

The Emperor that Clawdaunt called the Queenmother was once an Imperial dragon and her troupe of disillusioned followers.

Her physical form was lost long ago, but the surviving tales of the Queenmother tell a harrowing tale of survival in a land that has forgotten you.

No wonder, then, that so many would be drawn to her cult, which survives to this day in the form of the Wayfinders' Sanctuary...
