[font=calibri]midea is the home of twelve fey kingdoms, ruled over by a high council made up of one representative from each kingdom. while the council of twelve makes executive decisions for the people of the realm, each kingdom has its own governing system and is very diverse. war is not uncommon in midea, and is typically waged between svartalfhela and whatever kingdom they challenge. the twelve kingdoms surround the citadel of midea where celebrations, council meetings, and fey revels are held. midea's citadel values art and nature above most else, and is built to reflect that.[/font] [color=#b7881f][size=5][font=times new roman]Home of the Luxens[/font][/size][/color] [font=calibri]chrysolitus houses large forests and immense amounts of wildlife alongside other natural resources. chrysolitus' main citadel lies in the middle of the land, but is surrounded by large palace-like trading posts and embassies. while this land is considered the 'heart of midea', being the most powerful and largest out of every kingdom, the luxen are peaceful and do not wish to fight unless they are challenged. when they do fight, however, they are ruthless. luxens take pride in their species and "sense of togetherness" and thus, they all share the middle name 'luxen' to honour their race and ancestors. chrysolitus' citadel rests near the river— the borderline between vidreterra and itself. the towns and villages are spaced out between forests and wheat farms to make better use of the land they have. despite their kingdom being the largest, the army is led by the royal children instead of commanders and generals and does not match up to many others in size. in terms of population, chrysolitus is truly thriving due to one specific aspect of having offspring. when it comes to the luxens, the fewer children the better, but it's the issue of having the "perfect fey" that has set such high standards for children in chrysolitus. the "perfect fey" is the very last child in the family, born with no defects and growing up as conventionally attractive, free from sickness and disorder. they are typically obedient and have easier paths in their lives as they have the capacity for hard work and success in their adulthood. it takes some parents many, many children before reaching their perfect fey. others only take one try. this striving is the cause for much prejudice against luxens, as well as a massive social class divide within their kingdom walls as the less lucky children (many of the older siblings) are doomed to work lower class jobs with hard labour. the exceptions would be any children from wealthy families, or families of high power. in the case of chrysolitus, these families would only be of the royal family, and the family of the council representative. the chrysolitus royal family has been the same for many years. they never marry any other races of fey, staying within the luxens to ensure the purity of their bloodline. the royals have had the same name since the beginning of the kingdom and civilization on midea. despite being the royal family, however, the council representative has an equal amount of power in making [color=#7c4b92][size=5][font=times new roman]Home of the Nyban[/font][/size][/color] [font=calibri]vidreterra translates from latin as "land of crystal". the name was coined by its discoverer, and the creator of the nyban race: montsechia xenos vidalli. dragon trainers and riders thrive in this place. vidreterra was named for its vast underground caves that house massive wands and clusters of glistening amethyst, aquamarine, and more. while the dominant species of this territory is the nyban, a few other kinds have immigrated to vidreterra and have integrated themselves into its society. it is tradition for the nyban to be named after various plants and crystals as they hold their land and mother nature in a high place of respect. those who live within vidreterra's capital are those of a higher wealth. most others live in the towns and villages surrounding the capital's walls. there are watchtowers built in the case of war; one stationed to the west, and one toward the south. a river acts as the border between chrysolitus and vidreterra, while the border between vidreterra and svartalfhela is the beginning of the desert biome, nicknamed the 'badlands'. as it was previously mentioned, it is tradition for the nyban to be named after different kinds of plants and crystals, as well as other aspects of nature. they are a peaceful kind that does not fall into certain roles like the fey of other kingdoms whereas the mørklox may be known for being fierce warriors. the nyban are always content with what they have, and never engage themselves in war for the fact that they never demand more from the kingdoms around them. other kingdoms don't mind their position, however, as vidreterra is the only land with people who do not complain about having the lowest status or the least amount of power on the planet. nature is of high importance in vidreterra. it is a crime to bring harm to the biome as a game. mass hunting is illegal, alongside the farming of endangered species. the government does not allow homes to be built out of wood unless it is on property owned by the builder, making deforestation and logging foreign to vidreterra. the nyban find comfort in exploration and dislike any kind of violence, especially to their land. their peaceful means cause them to despise any sort of conflict that is not lighthearted. the nyban have a democratic monarchy and vote in a new monarch whenever they see fit. voting stations are spread out over the towns. there is a law that requires every nyban above the age of 16 to vote. they are highly accepting of other [color=#983521][size=5][font=times new roman]Home of the Mørklox[/font][/size][/color] [font=calibri]literally speaking, the land isn't all that dark. it's just dead. svartalfhela is the combination of two norse worlds, svartalfheim and helheim. it was coined svartalfhela, or "dwarf hel" due to its residents being shorter than the average fey. svartalfhela's resources come mainly from mines for precious minerals used to forge weapons. the mørklox are some of the richest elven in midea, but they lack adequate land for living. vidreterra's caves deepen and reach into mørklox territory, but nyban have humility and do not leech off the other kind for resources. the svartalfhela citadel is stationed behind several small towns and houses only the richest merchants, and several commanders. mørklox soldiers are highly skilled in weaponry and combat and form a rather large army as most citizens that live outside the citadel cannot make a sufficient amount of money to live comfortably. all food in svartalfhela is imported as they cannot grow their own food. in svartalfhela, family is the most important, along with land. the mørklox recognize that they do not have much as a race so they honour their victories and learn from their losses. they are a race of warriors and conflict causes them to thrive. the mørklox live for war as plants live for the sun. there isn't anything that ticks them off more than entitled jerks like the luxens of chrysolitus. svartalfhela has a hereditary monarchy, like most of midea. since it's rare for mørklox families to step down from the luxury of power, the only way to the throne is through assassination. this has been the way of the mørklox since the dawn of midea. most rulers allow the power to get to their heads, and therefore, rule valkyrie. asgard doesn't seem at all strung together by a cosmic reality (rather just floating in the middle of space as it appears to in marvel movies), but it's civilized and protected by a large fortress, separating itself from the 'chaotic' outside realms. asgard residents are rather cocky and pretentious, seeing their home as something only the divine can enter. people of asgard are
