Hello!, this is a story i wanted to post about ''Hatching from a nest''
it is about how dragons will build nests, get eggs, and how the hatchlings will grow up and be released as adults, i got inspired by a video about hatching birds, and a book about how you take care of a dragon, enjoy ^^
this specific scene will be about plague mirror dragons
Phase 1
It becomes spring and the sun starts shining again, flowers begin growing and becoming beautiful colors, trees start blossoming and beautiful pink leaves start growing, the grass gets greener, and the dragons wake up, it is time they find someone to be with
Phase 2
A male dragon starts looking for a good nesting place, and finally finds one, he starts collecting all sorts of resources, hard materials to build a nest of, and then soft materials on it, he starts making a hole in the middle to put the eggs in
this takes about a week of hard work
Phase 3
The male dragon starts looking for a female dragon and finds one, they start making eggs and the female lays the eggs about 3 weeks later (usually about 2 eggs or more, in this case 3), while working hard in the nest trying to lay the giant eggs, the male brings foods and snacks for the female to eat, she will widely open her beak to eat it, the male will bring whatever snacks the dragon species usually eat (example: mirror dragons will get meat)
The female dragon, i dont think though that i should show you what the egg making should have looked like
Phase 4
The eggs are laid in the nest and the female will constantly take care of the eggs, while the male looks over and protects the nest from anything nearby, dragon parents will be very protective over their nest
The male, looking very protective
Phase 5
After about 10 months of taking care of the eggs and keeping them healthy, the first egg hatches, dont consider keeping them as decoration, because that is the first meal the hatchling will eat in their life, the hatchling will usually be alot smaller and cuter than the parents, they will also be blind for the first 3 months and will be very, very hungry no matter the species, their tiny wings will also be extremely wet, these will be cleaned by the parents and dry up, about a few days after, the other hatchlings will be born too
The baby dragons look's
Phase 6
Now the care for the hatchlings will start, the father of the hatchlings will still be extremely protective over the nest, meaning that if any animal comes close, they will approach them extremely quickly, flapping their wings around constantly, scaring the animal away, when the hatchlings are born, they will all (3 in this case) flap their small wingies around in the nest, having their mouth widely open, pointing at the skies, the parents will fly from and to the nest constantly with foods and snacks for the hatchlings to eat, they will grow extremely fast in a few weeks from extremely small things to big hatchlings, sometimes they will refuse to eat the food, after about 3 months, all of the hatchlings will finally be able to see, and their wings will start to grow, after this period, the hatchlings will have learned to stay deep down the nest and be quiet when there is danger
the hatchlings will look alot bigger
Phase 7
Now after a few months, the hatchlings definetly are growing to become great adult dragons, but are not ready just yet, as their wings grow, they will practice so they will later be able to take flight, they will wildly flap around their big wings in the nest, 20 days after this, the first hatchling will attempt to leave the nest, they will try to fly off into the unknown, the world where their parents will not care for them anymore, and where their real life starts!, they will be old enough leave, after this day, one after one, all hatchlings will attempt to leave, and start their lives too
All of the grown up hatchlings, 2 mirror males and 1 mirror female, and all of them have both of characteristics of the parents, as you can see at their look, in this case all of them look the same
but how will the hatchlings know anything?, they havent learned how to swim or hunt, they only know how to fly, right?
actually, no!, they know pretty much everything!, only now they just have to experience and try it out themselves!, but how do they know everything already? its not a given at the moment they hatch, indeed its not!, when they can finally see, they will look at whatever the parents do, and will have this kept in their memory, whenever the parents swim or hunt, they will definetly see this and keep this in their heads, they then try it out themselves when its the time!, though there are things they will have to figure out themselves, such as finding someone to lay eggs with, and how they even make eggs
