I want this to be a practice for both my writing and art. [center][size=5]map[/size][/center] [center]a guide book to the locations in the kingdom(s).[/center] [img]https://i.imgur.com/BPGnXlG.png[/img] The kingdom of Aehrynal is located on the smaller island off the coast of the Viridian Labyrinth. _________________________________________________________________ [center][size=5]culture and history[/size][/center] [center]a brief guide to culture and history behind the island[/center] The original kingdom on the island is an all fae kingdom, but a daughter of the queen has split off after getting tired of being subservient to a her mother, with the help of her new partner ( a pearlcather) a months long council was held to discuss the formation of a new kingdom where all species of dragon were allowed. The next day the daughter and her mate swarmed, forever leaving her old kingdom behind to start a new life. Aza had refused to let him land until she had found the perfect spot for her new castle. “I’m sorry I’m making you fly so much... I- just want to find the perfect spot for our castle,” she looked at Aito, who nodded back in confirmation. With all this flying Aza had started getting drowsy, and allowed herself to drowse off. It had been hours since their last stop to rest, the sky had started turning grey and Aito could hear the far off boom of thunder. Aito was hoping that Aza would allow him to land to weather out the storm. But much to his surprise she was fast asleep on his back. Making the executive decision to be safe, he landed on a large hill that seemed almost out of place. After scouting the area Aito found an opening of a cave at the base of the hill. Quietly as to not wake Aza, still sleeping on his back, he slipped into the cave. After taking several steps he could feel the tunnel open, and a cool breeze hit him. Whatever the hill was made of it wasn’t earth or stone, as he would have been able to command it. Instead it seemed there was a several meter thick barrier that surrounded the cavern, barring the seemingly several entrances to the room. Sensing no immediate danger of collapse, Aito decided to set up camp and to wait out the storm here... It has been a week since Aito and I have found a place for our castle. I decided on the cave where we spent the night waiting out the storm. Not only is it large, but the intricate patterns detailing the inside of the barrier are beautiful. There are two entrances into the cave, one much larger than the other. The barrier is also very smooth and cool to the touch. For the past week we have been ridding the inside of the cavern of cobwebs and any bugs and creatures that are found. Lucky for us it is the start of a new crop rotation and we have begun planting a farm, and raising livestock (these of course are the creatures we found) for food. This means no more scavenging and savagery will be needed... OH! Speaking of creatures, I thought I had found an old treasure chest, like in the stories. Turns out it was just a deactivated golem. I have since rejuvenated it. I’ve ordered it to stand guard over the livestock so they don't get any smart ideas. The night of the thunderstorm I woke up to a loud crash of thunder, still on Aito’s back. He comforted me through the night. But before, using our magic we sealed up the entrances to stop the deafening sound of thunder echoing through the cave. Whatever the barrier is made of contains and bounces sound really well. After closing the entrances we both were exhausted, having used all of our magic, it was then that I noticed two onion shaped bulbs sitting by the now blocked entrance. It seems our magic intermingled, and two eggs were formed. After planning and rest Aza and Aito decided to get to work on constructing their castle. As Aito was chopping trees, digging up stones, and hauling the supplies back to their castle Aza used her magic to help decorate and construct. Trees splintered, and the ground trembled underneath Aito as he flew through the forest uprooting all the useful stones and old growth trees he could find. The earth rose and fell like the tides as he forced his magic out into the world and pulled it back in. He found this particular method helpful in getting the logs to roll where he needed them. The earth shook and caved as his magic pulled stones to the surface, once his load was large enough he would fly, stones in tow, to the new workshop where Aza was stripping and planing logs for lumber. An eerie green glow almost blinded him as he entered the hut, causing him to drop all the stones he was levitating. His eyes began to adjust and he saw Aza hovering above a pile of logs, the green flash appeared again and arush of air made a shiver run up his back. Aza held out her hands and several circular saw blades formed out of the air she had collected in the hut. The saw blades began rapidly spinning and another bright flash appeared as they ripped through the logs. Then in an instant they were gone. Aza, noticing Aito’s presence, flew towards the entrance and fluttered down to the ground exhausted from today's work. “Just think Ait, the sooner we finish the place the faster we can relax and enjoy raising the kids,” she glanced up at Aito and noticed him blinking. Realizing her magic must have flashed him in the eye she giggled and flew off to find a place to sleep... While I was cutting some more logs he snuck up behind me and tapped on my shoulder. I thought it was strange since he had been longer than usual getting wood. Inside was a Dreameater Tusk carved with a love poem he wrote for me. It was so cute I didn’t know what to say, so I gave him a hug and read off the poem.
