You walk through a bramble entrance, thorns catching your side; it doesn’t sting however. The thorns are limited. You walk into the center of a camp, and expect to be torn apart by a dangerous boneyard clan, but silence fills this area. You look around, there isn’t a dragon in sight, but the large camp seems to be an oasis in the boneyard. The camp was a hollow, one you’d find in the woods, stone walls protecting the inside and hiding it.
There was a huge rock cleft in the north end of the camp, more bramble covering the entrance. That must be the leader’s den. You smelled herbs and turned to see an ivy-covered cleft to the right of the supposed leader’s den. It strongly had the aroma of herbs, and a seemingly magical aura surrounded it. To the far left of these areas, was a hollow willow tree that looked seemingly almost dead. Small and soft noises came from the inside. A nursery, perhaps?
Then you saw him. You looked behind you to see gigantic, fluffy, horned dragon with eyes that glowed with the Fire element, but goat pupils stared down at you; it was almost unnerving, the intensity in the orange orbs.
“Welcome, traveller. You are glad I am the only one awake, as any other dragon would have torn you to pieces.” The Gaoler chuckled, amusement in his firey depths. You asked what he wanted. “I do say, traveller, you have guts. You ask me what I want? What do YOU want, intruder?” You had no answer for the Gaoler. You were shocked but did not say a word, keeping your guard up. This seemed to please him. He let out a laugh. “Come, intruder, you may as well stay awhile. Nuvola will see to you in the morning, driving you away, letting you stay as long as you need, or even accepting you as a clanmate. He isn’t as deadly as he may seem. More roar than bite.” You followed the huge dragon to a campfire in the middle of the hollow.
He sat with a grunt and a soft plop on the ground. You could now see his teal fur with black spots, parts of his body glowing and shifting yellow and blue runes. “Now, tell me your story. My name is Polu.” He suddenly said, and you told him why you had come. He let out a low chuckle. “Ah yes. A beautiful story. You fought hard to get here, hm? The boneyard really is an unforgiving territory. But once you have lived here as long as I, you start to notice it’s inner beauty. It can forgive dragons strong enough to handle it.” You asked Polu if he had a story to tell, of how he knows so much about this place even as a Fire dragon. He looks so young, the sharp face shape possibly resembling another dragon subspecies. Polu smiled, a smile that seemed to warm your heart. His orange eyes now had memories upon memories behind them. “Child, I have many stories.” is all he said. You’d be here for a while...
