As a background, these are characters in an AU version of [i]One Piece[/i] I'm slowly working on, where Luffy is a Marine and Usopp forms his own pirate crew (the AU's equivalent of the Straw Hats). As a background, Opaal was created for a canon-AU RP I did with a friend, where he is a self-made arrancar in the sands of Hueco Mundo who was picked up by Aaroniero, who fled Hueco Mundo after his dismissal from the Espada. Whether their relationship is one of strictly master-fracción, or if there's something closer there isn't fully set in stone, but as they're both self-made arrancar, 'romance' is hardly the sappy thing usually shown in media regardless. They don't feel any particular urge to eat the other, and indeed feel somewhat safe in the other's presence, despite the difference in power. Someone else attempting to eat the other is also highly frowned upon.
