DAY 11
Pull: Writing
"If we're trying to find shadows... where should we look?" Octave mused, as the two of them wandered the overgrown paths of the forest outside. It was just back to Selune and him, just like the very beginning. How long ago that seemed! They seemed still barely out of the nest then, but now they were fully fledged dragons.
To be perfectly honest, he missed being alone with Selune. Sure, Isis was great, with her magic and everything, but Selune was his first friend, his most treasured one. He felt he could share anything with her. He trusted her with his life.
"Before I met you, I heard rumours that there was a sanctum deep in the forest... dedicated to a deity of light. We are quite deep inside. Perhaps we will stumble upon it soon." Selune replied.
She wouldn't admit it out loud, but she was secretly intrigued by her companion. By nature, she was quiet. Reserved. But whenever she was with Octave, she seemed to become... slightly more open. She felt free with him, like he could spirit her away.
"So what exactly are we looking for? Any clues on the sanctum?" Octave asked, runes flaring up in excitement. Selune thought for a while, wracking her brain for anything she had heard.
"It's beside a lake... hidden deep in brambles. And... wait, isn't that where we are now?" Something struck Selune as odd.
Was it a coincidence that Isis' domain was so near the sanctum? And even if it was... it couldn't possibly be be chance that Isis' incredibly strong powers were of brilliant light, just like the deity...?
"... let's go. Into the brambles. Maybe we'll find someone who can give us more clues." Octave nodded, and wing to wing, they journeyed into the tangle. The plants clawed at their scales, bit at their confidence. Would they really find something in the mess?
It was difficult to move, not to mention fly. As they struggled through the brambles, Octave squinted ahead, trying to find any clue that might help them. Selune spoke softly right beside him, and her feathers brushed his scales. He jerked, then looked down in embarrassment. Why was he getting so worked up about that?
“Do you see that? Red feathers. Perhaps we could ask them...” They barged past the last wall of thorns and came face to face with another Skydancer, out cold on the stone steps of the sanctum.
