DAY 7
Pull: 10-20 battles
Isis paced around the small cave. She had gotten the young dragons back to the glade as soon as she could. They breathed steadily, slow and light, but at least they were alive. Octave’s peacock markings had lost their lustre, and Selune’s fireflies hummed lethargically on her butterfly wings.
It had been three days. She should have been there for them... accompanied them... this was all her fault. Yet again, she failed to protect those she loved the most... Tears slowly, slowly fell. Fell like the dying remnants of the past....
The space suddenly darkened. Isis’ light dimmed, and she looked around in alarm as the whole ground began to shake, the air itself shuddering. A horde of shadows slammed again and again against the protective light barrier that she had placed at the entrance.
The darkness screamed with a vengeance, as it smashed with all its might against the shield which shimmered and shook, trembling with the force of the blows.
You destroyed us all... now you will pay for your crimes!
Isis started in horror. The ghosts of her past had come back to haunt her... quite literally. Gritting her teeth, she poured her energy into the sheet of golden yellow which grew fainter by the second. She couldn’t afford for them to harm Octave and Selune.
It was exhausting, keeping her magic untainted by the murk. Light and dark clashed in a terrifying conflagration that blazed up the tunnels, erupting in a spectacular display of sparks and raw power. Isis’ jaw clenched harder, as she fed more magic into the barrier. Yet the darkness seemed to grow stronger and stronger, until she herself struggled even to stand upright. At that moment, she felt so hopeless.
”If you don’t hope, who will hope for you?”
“No. NO!” she screamed, trying to block the memories. Her mental fortitude instantly crumbled at the mere recollection of that dragon. “GO AWAY!” The words tore from her throat, as she began fighting back at the shadows, fuelled by rage and despair. “LEAVE ME ALONE!” With every word, she lashed harder and harder, her magic passing through the barrier to blast the ghosts away.
Finally, with the last burst, the shadows retreated, and Isis staggered backwards, utterly drained. She had driven them off, but who knew how long they would stay away? When they came back... she had to be ready to protect her charges at all costs. Even if the final destination was death.
Isis collapsed to the ground, overwhelmed...

Whew. Second day of Coli, with me being equally terrified. I started the first battle in Woodland Path and after completing it immediately fled to the Training Fields. Clown Chargers are scary...
On another note, we see a new character (or characters? I’m not saying...)! As for how they fit into the story... well, you’ll just have to wait and see ;)
