Near the borders of the Viridian labyrinth; rocky cracked earth starts to change to smooth sands, light soil & quagmires, sparse trees seem to be in a constant state of decay & autumn element, spiralling leaves collect in varying sizes of sink holes and ponds- in this place, there is a strange cumulation of these... pot holes, and one in particular is so large and deep, that is does not fill with water and is instead, occupied by a small clan.
The dragons that make it their home call it... 'The hollow' and though they are unaware of it, this hollowed out impact site is the remnants of a catastrophic disaster and bloody, horrific war... Which somehow seem to be connected - according to the new findings of a few dedicated archaeologists drawn to the location..

A layer of fine dust lays upon the piles of tombs, scrolls and stalagmites lining the walls of this winding cave system. The only light to enter here are old candles, wax dripping onto smoothed dirt, worn from many footsteps & strange runes that give a faint glow from overburdened desks. It is winding, mazing and not for the faint of heart- dragons here hardly ever go to the surface and many have strange adaptions because of so.. Or is it the magic that causes it? The air burns the nostrils of any not used to it. There's a strange sizzling friction. Glowing eyes peek out from hollows in the walls. You feel slightly nauseous and claustrophobic. Warmth fills your bones when you pass the threshold into the entrance of the burrows. Light filters through the ceiling, large boulders decorated with ivy and colourful banners and dust motes float by. Hundreds of tunnels and nooks formed by the avalanche of rocks that collapsed with the impact of the meteor, the burrow is an intricate system of shallow caves, unlike the deeper reaches of the krypt. It is bright, warm, and clearly lived in.. The patter of hatchlings' footsteps, fluttering wings and sounds of familiars echo around the chambers, remnants of meals and trinkets lie about- fabrics not yet threaded, half built nests by youngsters starting out on their own.... it is home. There's always the soft wail of wind cycling through the burrows, flags fluttering in the breeze, carrying all the smells of home, and the sounds of it's residents. There's mostly peace in the burrows. Though the older dragons will argue with the young, and everyone agrees to snark on the outsiders..... Known as the 'death bogs' by local clans and roaming dragons- it is the natural deterrent to most who may come near the waning sanctum... at least those not particularly stubborn. Large pits filled with muddy, putrid water and deceptively shallow mud - these dangerous sinkholes span at least 200 kilometers either direction. It's quiet. Other than an occassional swamp rat scampering away quickly or the near silent specre dragonfly whizzing past, it seems food is scarce here and creatures, if they are around, keep to themselves.

[br]
Strangers will say the place is haunted but Sidhe knows it is simply part of dragonhome, no more or less natural than the forests she hails from. On a few occassions, she has lead lost dragons away or helped a trapped dryad or kelpie - she refuses to guide the archaeologists through... if they cannot make it through the bogs, they are unworthy to enter waning sanctum anyway.
[br]
Rumours spread across the lands of the silent ghostly spirit of a skydancer... who seems to glide across the waters and not even disturb a single reed, who doesn't discriminate between beastfolk or dragonfolk. [br][br]

It's quiet. Other than an occassional swamp rat scampering away quickly or the near silent specre dragonfly whizzing past, it seems food is scarce here and creatures, if they are around, keep to themselves.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
One who isn't afraid to explore the bogs is Sidhe, who treats it almost as a second home- over years of experience, she has come to know blindfolded exactly where to step, which logs to lift to find the best grubs, where the water is safest to drink and how to step so lightly not even an imprint is left in the mud.
Rumours spread across the lands of the silent ghostly spirit of a skydancer... who seems to glide across the waters and not even disturb a single reed, who doesn't discriminate between beastfolk or dragonfolk.
