For Nukonia
From as far as she remembers, Nukonia wasn't like the other dragons.
She would lay close to the water, even after she settled in the Shifting Expanse.
She would lose herself for countless hours in the myriad of patterns spreading underneath the surface, smooth as glass. Searching for what wasn't there anymore.
One day though, something - no one knows what, or where it came from - hit the glass surface, shattering the lifeless waters, unfolding Nukonia's lost memories.
They arose before her, finally setting free. Setting her free.
I heard the voices, the immense crowd, ascending to me,
sending prayers and offerings.

For Argoritus
Shadows. All shadows. Mom, dad, where are you?
I can't see you anymore, it's all dark in here.
It's been many days since then. Lost the count.
Why bother, anyway? They won't come back anymore.
And now...
I'm all alone, in the dark.
~
Hey, it's me again.
I don't know why I'm doing this, but Laikaa said it would be good for me.
I'm... doing better, I guess?
... Laikaa? She found me as I was... crying...again
sound of throat clearing
A-anyway, I wanted to make my farewells.
I know I've not always been obedient,
but I'd like to believe you were happy to have me.
I was given a lantern, so I can see in the shadows.
It's a bit old and paint is long since gone, but I like it.
And...I'm not alone anymore.
Goodbye, mom, dad.

For BananaKing
You find yourself in front of an imposing Imperial, who gazes into a mirror.
As he notices you after a while, he (reluctantly) looks at you.
Well hello there ! Hadn't seen you! Go ahead, take a seat!
You've come to get some of my otherworldly grace and wisdom?
Shhh, don't say anything, I know you have. ... Whatchu sayin? Blinding?
*chuckles* Alright then, I'll make myself a bit less radiant.
So! What did you want to talk about, little one?
I can do anything, from changing the color of the sky
to finding your kindred spirit. Just ask me!
As he says this, you hear fierce beeps from behind a curtain that you hadn't noticed.
Oh, this? That's... nothing, really...
You don't point out the strange noises you just heard.
The Imperial rushes at the source of the ruckus, and soon the place is dead silent again.
He then goes backfrom the shadows, holding a tiny piece of paper.
Here you go, little one!
You leave the place with the paper, quite puzzled.
Was it a banana-shaped computer behind the curtain??

For Zelus
Shiver in despair, worm! I am everything you wish for, everything you want to get rid of, everything that goes back to the earth. I have seen kings and queens come and go, sprouts turn into shrubs, turning into trees, rising to the sky into forests, forests wither slowly. Each and every life is powerless when facing my wrath. Struggling is futile. Bow before me, you lesser soul. Be my underling or don’t be anymore. Wherever you fly, I will find you. I will put my mark on you, more surely than any brand would. I am true horror embodied.

For Sodalite
As you warily enter the dim nest,
you slowly catch sight of a crismon ray of light, far in the corridor.
You finally make it there, breathing heavily.
What one can do for a tatoo... you think.
You pull the "curtain" aside - that thing barely holds together, not even spared by decay... Sudden light blinds you.
You rub your eyes, shake your head.
What one can do for a tatoo... you grumble.
You eventually make out what's in front of you.
Someone's moving... A long, curly body... It's drawing near...
Suddenly, shiny scarlet eyes... Eldritch, creeping skeleton...
You can't take it anymore. You fly away, panicked, hitting the ground, the ceiling.
You fly as if hell had opened before you and was claiming your soul.
"It's the fifth customer that's been leaving like this now, I wonder what's going on?"
Sighing, Sodalite sits back on her chair.
Behind her, a Lux Spectre is roaring with laughter.

For Igneous
They left me here... I shan't do the same.
It hasn't been long since I have left the safe shelter of my shell.
Barely able to carry my pearl, I'm half walking, half flying, if you can call that "flying".
Dad's pale scales are hardly visible in the sunset, and I'm getting tired, and bored.
I miss my siblings. I miss home.
It may have been filled with corruption, but at least there was food.
I stumble against a root. My head meets the ground harshly, then my pearl hits my forehead. Fortunately, Dad didn't see that. He'd use that word again.
Unfitting.
I shiver. Maybe it was a good thing that I left "home", after all.
I gather the poor remains of dignity that I have left,
and raise my head, forward, toward the future.
And this is how, kids, I reached this peaceful place.
I had been ostracized, here I'm feared and respected.
My opinion is valued, and this is why you're here today,
for I deemed you worthy of staying around.
You shan't be left behind, ever.

For Boreas
All around me, I feel the stone has gotten colder.
I turn over on my back, making my chains rattle against the ground.
Small shards of ice shatter as they fall, while I stretch out slowly.
It's this time of the year again, uh?
Letting out a deep sigh, that soon turns into tiny crystals in the frozen air,
I open my eyes. Snow swirls around me now, and as usual,
I can't help but catch some on my tongue.
I let it melt, then walk towards to the entrance. Towards more snowflakes.

For Rajani
Among the shadows of the Tangled Woods, in the middle of her now shattered shell, a small Guardian with dark body and red wings opened her eyes. Two at first. Then all of them.
Her gaze went blurry, and she fell on her side, unconscious.
Her parents hurried at her, fearing the worst.
The Guardian, named Rajani, was born with many, many eyes. Far too many for an honest dragon, would say ill-mannered clan mates. These ones would suffer severe punishment. Nevertheless, it was obvious that as things were, Rajani's particularity was nothing but a burden. Her parents quickly found that the only way to prevent her from collapsing was to cover her body as much as possible, making the additional eyes close. She would still have this absent-minded expression at times, but she could enjoy life, somehow.
As the years went by, though, Rajani found herself drawn to unveil the mystery of these eyes. When she uncovered them, she would perceive faint scenes, confused, each of them showing a different moving picture, and these visions would surround her like a soft veil, cutting her from the physical world.
She had often woken up after passing out because of them.
Now, she sat down before "exploring", as she called it.
With time she had learnt that what she saw were events from afar, from all over the dragons' territories. Dusty landscapes, trees rustling with life, blinding marble on the ground, towering waves crashing in the tempest, plains travelled through by seemingly never-ending wires, smoky mountains in a crimson sky, aberrations crawling on scarred land, breeze whistling in bamboo leaves, slippery slopes under an equally white sky. She had seen them all, and enjoyed it. But the place Rajani liked beyond anything else was this eerie reef, surrounded by breathtaking, claw-shaped rocks. She felt such a strong calling to see this place for real.
One night, after much thinking, she decided to make an experiment. The Guardian removed all of the clothes that clouded her visions. She closed the eyes that she used to show. And she waited. Visions came and went, but none of these she longed for. Rajani had nearly given up, considering falling into slumber, when the familiar scenery appeared before one of her eyes. She forced all of them to focus on this image, desperately clinging on it. The lines became less and less blurry, and she felt herself fall into an unfathomable abyss.
After what seemed an eternity, the Guardian woke up, finding herself on a beach of smooth and shiny sand, coming in all shades of purple.
Patterns changed over and over as she turned around in confusion.
She finally spotted a towering building in the decreasing light, and decided to go that way.
Upon leaving the beach, she stumbled over two dragons.
The first one, a red and black Fae, shouted.
"I knew I had seen something... Well, someone, crashing around here! I won that bet!"
The other one, bigger, tho not as much as Rajani,
was a greyish Mirror, who sighed, with a smile though.
"True that, we'll settle this once we're back. But for now..."
He turned to Rajani, raising his head as much as he could.
"It seems like a higher force called you here. Do you have any idea why?"
She mumbled, feeling despair overwhelming her back again.
"Er, I was... there, and then I was here, I didn't mean to, but, you know..."
The Mirror smiled widely.
"I see. Much confusion, it seems. You're currently on one of the Starfall Isles, in the Arcane territory. Well then, why don't you come along and rest a bit?"
Rajani calmed down a bit.
"... Yes, I would love to."
However, as she followed the Fae and the Mirror (whose names happened to be Vale and Draak) as they finally arrived at their clan (where was the building she saw earlier, which she learnt was the observatory) and as another Fae, called Prismarine, approached them, she knew, deep in her heart, that she would not leave this place for some time.
All of her eyes saw the same thing, now. Home.

Home.

For Rhian
Rhian, the deadly singer
Ever since he could read, Rhian had always been bothering Adara, his mother, to help her with the library work. "Hime and Eönwë left long ago, let me assist you!"
Eventually, the Wildclaw allowed him to enter the restricted section of the library.
She gave him a book to read, a tome she had consulted many times.
However, she had left out one thing. One page that she had never managed to decipher.
Some time later...
As Adara was appraising a dubious parchment, she suddenly felt the ground shake.
The worst was yet to come. Harrowing, blood-curling screams arose in the room.
But the Wildclaw had been through more hardships she could remember.
Thus, she carefully got closer, until she realized that her son was the origin of these sounds.
And that he was perfectly fine. Actually, it looked like he was enjoying himself.
Slowly, Adara walked to him and gently tapped on his shoulder.
- What is going on? she asked, after he stopped hurling.
- Oh, I was singing. This war shriek is quite interesting.
Rhian showed what he had been singing to her mother.
Indeed, it was the text she had never been able to identify.
The Wildclaw let out a sigh.
"Well, now I don't have to worry about you being able to stand for yourself."
Nowadays, he uses this shriek to scare off his enemies, sometimes they drop dead...
...or fake it, in hope he stops singing.
