Introduction
Miresa is an isolated island that has been summoning exclusively young female inhabitants for nearly one-thousand years. The mysterious artifact, popularly called the Altar of the Winds, is presumably the cause of the island's summoning powers. It is currently unable to be controlled, manipulated or stopped. While some maidens find this concerning, and long for answers, many have lost interest in questioning Miresa and its origins.
Most maidens view Miresa as a safe-haven, and have adjusted to life on the island extremely well. Because of their positive view of Miresa, the island has peacefully continued its monthly summoning without many questions. But with the island's continuous growth, and Miresa's constant expansion and search of knowledge, hidden secrets are slowly being uncovered, and everything is not as peaceful and perfect as it seems... Someone, or something, is behind this.

The populous city of Valor is located at the "heart" of Miresa, surrounding the Altar of the Winds. This place is heavily protected by the steep mountains on the east side and the striking white cliffs that drop into the endless sea on the west coast. With it being the hub of the island, it boasts the largest population of residents, but also provides plenty of inns for traveling and working maidens alike. With Valor's central location on the island, the city makes it a suitable place to transport supplies from just about every reach of Miresa. The eastern architecture style of Miresa here relies on traditional techniques to preserve structural integrity, even after centuries have passed.

Kani is located in a very secluded part of Miresa, being enclosed by a valley of steep mountains. The rainfall that runs off of these mountains has developed a lush grass carpet that attracts what maidens call the Great Herd. These mighty bison-like creatures offer delicious meat, beautiful hide and their magical horns are sought after by many mages, alchemists and collectors. The "claws" of Kani encourage inhabitance for a diverse range of sea creatures, where patient maidens just might get their best catch. Along the northern coast of Kani are the dyeing pools, with dozens of assorted colours to choose from, ever-changing, these dyes are only made here.

Ceremony of the Winds
The celebration of the arrival of new maidens.
It is the largest ceremony to take place on Miresa. Extravagant performances are held, light shows illuminate the skies and feasts are cooked. The main ceremony follows the tradition of adorning the new maidens with flowers and ceremonial gowns. Offerings are gathered and placed at the Altar of the Winds.

An annual event that uses enchanted lanterns to remember those lost or left behind.
Special lantern-makers design these devices to be reusable for each year, and are customized towards each maiden. They have been engineered to mimic the look of a floating lantern, and will stay stationary at different levels in the sky for a period of time. With thousands of these lit in the sky simultaneously, the island looks as if stars are floating all around them.
