They are a species you want to fight on your side, for woe to you if you are their enemy... Boys, on the other hand, have lost their magical abilities. They are driven by the will of Arenji or lost to wander until found. Many have very short life spans, but find themselves drawn to those who are able to grant the touch of life when close to their deaths. They call these beings life-givers no matter their element or style and will connect to one and stay with them for the rest of their existance - possibly eternally - much like how a Guardian finds their charge. Many without a life-giver will seem lost or wandering, aimless, but feel a pull when their life is near end out of fear of going to the gods and into eternal servitude. Once they have found their life-giver, however, they will protect them at any cost and could put an angry imperial to shame in their sheer physical power.
