[b][u]What are the Noble Orders of Sornieth?[/u][/b]
An Order is a lore organization that exists to assist or encourage dragons in the pursuit of their goals. Think of it as the Sornieth equivalent of signing up for a club.
In real life, if you're passionate about hiking, you might join a hiking club so you can meet like minded people to head out into the wilderness with, or you might join an online hiking discussion group so you can share stories, photos, and the tips about the best places to go.
In the same way, a dragon who has a passion for healing magic can join the Order of Healers as a Mage to help them find other Healer-Mages that they can train with, visit, or exchange letters with. A dragon who needs to set out on a dangerous journey might consult the local Order of Travelers and ask for a Guide. A history fanatic can join the Order of Scholars as a Historian to find like minded companions to [s]geek out[/s] discuss with.
There are 10 Orders, and each one has several more specific Branches. A dragon can belong to an Order in general, or to one of the Branches if their goal is more specific.

[b]What's the point of belonging to an Order?[/b]
Dragons who request membership in an Order will have their names listed here in this thread with a link to their profile. That means people are more likely to notice your dragon and read the lore you worked so hard to write! It's also a fun way to find people who are open to receiving roleplay PMs.
Once your dragon is enrolled you can also use this thread to share updates or to talk about them!
If you add writing to their profile, if you write a short story that includes them, if they star in a new piece of art you've made, if they're part of an RP thread here on the forums and you're looking to recruit new players, you can post here and let people know!

A dragon doesn't have to be one of the best at their Order's purpose (although it certainly helps!), they just have to be dedicated to that purpose as something that's vitally important to them. For example, young fighters-in-training can join the Order of Warriors right alongside battle hardened veterans.

Something as simple as a bullet point list of traits, or just a few half finished thoughts, is good enough.

Don't worry! Nobody is going to grade you on your writing ability and you're not going to be told that the writing isn't good enough for your dragon to qualify.

Choosing to join an Order is one way a dragon announces to the world- and perhaps even to themselves- which goals hold the highest priorities in their lives. Ask yourself what is most important to the dragon's character and run with that one, even if it's not the thing they're the most talented in.

How many dragons can I enroll in the Orders?
As many as you want! As long as there's at least a couple of words about them in their bio and each dragon is only in one Order at a time, you could enlist your whole lair.
The banners don't really match my bio layouts, can I make a different one?
Please feel free to use whatever you'd like to link back to this thread! Make banners that suit your look, alter the ones I already have here, whatever you like.
Is there an Order for clan leaders?
There's not a specific spot for dragons in leadership positions. The Orders are sort of like clubs that help dragons with common goals or interests get in touch with each other, and since clan leaders can be kindhearted do-gooders, morally neutral scholars, evil warlords, and anything else besides, if you brought a bunch of them together to talk about their jobs they probably wouldn't agree on much!
What if my dragon decides in lore to quit their Order for in-character reasons?
Ping me with the name of the dragon and what Order they were a part of. Instead of removing them from the thread entirely, I'll add their name to a list of 'former members' so people can still find the dragon and read your hard work. (Sounds like a pretty neat story to me.)
What if I change my dragon's lore and decide they were never part of their Order in the first place? (This is also known as a 'retcon.')

What if I want to exalt my dragon?
