His mentor grew to become more like a father to him than his own father ever had, simply because he had played such a pivotal role in his life. His mentor raised him, trained him and made him strong. He looked up his mentor and wanted to be like him. Everything he was, he was because of his mentor. One day, however, everything changed. A strange wildclaw with weird glowing symbols over his body appeared out of nowhere and attacked Inigo's mentor. Inigo was helpless to do anything as the two wildclaws clashed. He tried to join the fray, but the strange wildclaw pushed him out of the way. At the end of the battle, Inigo's mentor was dead. The strange wildclaw left as quickly as he had arrived, not even saying a word to the poor young dragon left with the body of his mentor. Inigo sat in a numbed silence for an entire day, trying to come to terms with what had happened and what he had lost. After giving his mentor a proper burial, he set off with one goal in mind: revenge. He covered his body with war paint, and tied a black twist around his tail as a sign of grief. By the time he actually set out, the wildclaw who had killed his mentor was too far gone to effectively track him, but this did not dishearten Inigo. He began to traverse Sornieth, searching for any sign of the killer. he asked any dragon who would listen if they had seen such a dragon, and eventually, he found someone who knew of the dragon. They told him that his name was Dremasul, that he worked as an assassin, and that rumor was that he lived in a new wind port town called Iyonda Landing. When Inigo arrived in Iyonda Landing, he discovered that Dremasul had a very different reputation among his clanmates. Though a few dragons found it hard to trust him, most of them considered him family, even if they did not know him well, and were quite fond of him. He had a girlfriend, and a young family. He was related to the leader of the town too, which gave him some degree of importance. Trying to decide his next course of action, he moved into the town, under the guise of just being a wandering warrior. Not wanting to get connected, he stayed out of the warriors guild's business, despite the various invitations he got. He was not sure if Dremsul recognized him, but the wildclaw stayed out of his way. It would be very difficult to corner him and kill him. Eventually, hoping to find some weakness, he approached Draxxor, a wildclaw he had noticed was not as friendly towards Dremasul as most. She invited him inside, and shared his story with Inigo. He found out that the two of them had initially been married. They had fallen apart after finding out that Dremasul had killed Draxxor's brother, and since the, Dremasul had seemed to grow more distant and come home with more and more bloodstained. She was shocked, but not surprised, when Inigo shared the experience he had had meeting the other wildclaw, as well as what he had been told about him before arriving in the clan. Together, they decided that it was probably for the best that Dremasul be killed, though Draxxor said she would have no part in killing him. While Inigo took the information he learned and tried to put it to use by pulling together a plan, he noticed that Iago, the town's queen, was taking an interest in him. Although he tried to ignore her at first, as he knew she was just suspicious of what he was doing in the town, he ended up accepting her invitations to hang out, as he figured it couldn't hurt to act more like a proper member of the clan. What he didn't expect was to fall in love with the other wildclaw. It had been so long since he had been properly close to another dragon, and it felt good to have a friend. He said nothing of his feelings, fearing they would be inappropriate, and being unwillling to try and build a relationship with a dragon who's great-great-great-grandfather he was trying to kill. One day, Iago pulled Inigo aside and explained that she knew why he had come to the clan. She explained that unlike most of the dragons in the clan, she knew what was going on with Dremasul, and that he had told her himself about his predicament, and that she was working on helping him. After explaining his situation, she pleaded with Inigo not to go through with it, and warned him that if he did go through with it she would drive him out of the clan and that he would be no better than Dremasul. Dremasul had a family that would hurt to have him gone. It may be a complicated family, but there were dragons that loved him, dragons that benefited from his help and love. That did not excuse his actions, and there would come a day when she would judge him accordingly, but he was in a tricky predicament and was working on a way out. Inigo left without responding to Iago. He had much to think about. Flying around the city, he decided he needed some fresh air. It was then that he ran into Dremasul. It was the first time he had been actually face-to-face with the other wildclaw since he had killed his mentor. He prepared to attack, but Iago's words echoed in his mind. He saw a flash of recognition in Dremsul's eyes, and he knew that the other wildclaw remembered him. His pink eyes flashed with pity and remorse, and suddenly Inigo felt a violent rage. He attacked the other wildclaw. In the end, Dremasul won the fight, but Inigo was shocked to find that in his victory, he did not kill him. Dremasul let him go. It was then that Dremasul explained to him why he had killed his mentor, and that he was not to blame here. If Inigo wanted true revenge, he'd have to track down the dragon that Dremasul had been hired by. He gave the younger wildclaw what information he could about his client, but pleaded with him not to turn to a life of bloodshed. Once you started, he could not go back. The blood would always be on his claws. Inigo was certain it was a trap, but there was something in the other wildclaw's pink eyes that haunted him, an expression of unimaginable pain and regret and emptiness. In that moment, Inigo was certain he was ready to die if that was what Inigo really desired. Dremasul was giving him a choice. Shaken by the way Dremasul had reacted, a dragon Inigo had always imagined as a ruthless killer who hunted down other dragons for sport, nothing more than a plague Sornieth must be rid of. He was suddenly unable to lift a claw against him. He certainly did not forgive the older wildclaw, and he would not be the one to release him from his bounds by sending him to his death in peace. Dremasul would have to live with what he had done. What better revenge was there than that? It was a few days before Inigo could let himself face Iago. he had not killed Dremasul, but he was sure Iago would have heard of his attempt and would have taken that for his choice. Not wanting to see his friend's fury, he prepared to leave in the night and continue his quest for revenge. However, he was stopped. Iago had seen him preparing to leave, and she had come to stop him. She had indeed heard of his attempt to kill Dremasul, but she was not about to drive him off. She told him he was one of the few dragons who she truly considered her friend. She asked him to stay, promising him that she would help him find the dragon he was seeking, and if she judged him to be guilty of the crime and deserving of punishment, she would help him kill him. Inigo is still searching for his mentor's enemy, but his revenge plot no longer consumes his whole life. He and Iago's relationship has grown, and she is now his wife. He works alongside her to run the clan smoothly, and occasionally helps out the warriors guild. He plans to join them properly once his revenge has been exacted, but now he does not feel like he can live up to their code of honour, not when he actively seeks the blood of another dragon. Warrior
Song: Anger - Sleeping at Last

I feel the Earth shaking under my feet
I feel the pressure building until I can't breathe
And it takes everything
And it all spills out
Reckless but honest words leave my mouth
Like kerosene on a flame of doubt
I couldn't make it right

Pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light.
You'll come back when it's over,
no need to say goodbye.

Wind roared in the pink fae’s ears. The unfamiliarity of it woke her with a start. Around her stretched a light green plain. Wind rushed through the grass in streams. She blinked. She couldn’t remember falling asleep. Actually, she couldn’t remember anything. It was as if she had popped into existence on the windswept plain, and the more she looked at it, the less and less sure she was that it was unfamiliar. Surely she had been here her whole life?

Fenn was the first leader of Clan Yonder. Unbeknownst to her, she used to be Princess Neffie of an arcane clan called Clan Sonder. After a fierce attack on her clan, leaving her one of the few survivors, she awoke on the Windswept Plains with her memory completely wiped, believing herself to have been a wind dragon her entire life. Her only friend was Elric her personal guard and childhood best friend.

Together, they started Clan Yonder, which quickly grew in population. It was not a large clan, but everyone was friendly. Fenn felt less like a queen and more like a mother to her subjects. It was a happy time for the clan, but that was not to last.

Eventually, Kyro, a zealous mirror prince tracked Fenn down and kidnapped her, taking her for his own. This paved the way for her daughter-in-law, Azra, to snag leadership. Hold on to me as we go,
as we roll down this unfamiliar road,
and although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you're not alone, 'cuz I'm going to make this place your home.

Home. The word never carried much meaning for Aristotle, at least not until he met Amberlyn. From the moment he was old enough to travel, he left the shifting expanse and began traveling Sornieth. He saw many places, but never really felt like any could be a place he would want to stay.

One day, a gust of wind blew Amberlyn into his camp. The wildclaw was fierce, curt, and clearly hurt. Reluctantly, she let him help her, and she ended up traveling with him. The more time they pent together, the more she opened up, and Aristotle found that she was the most beautiful dragon he had ever met. He wanted never to leave her side.

They ended up settling in Clan Yonder, a small clan on the Zephyr Steppes. There they had their first nest, and there they both discovered what home really meant.

When the tyrant Azra took over the clan, both Amberlyn and Aristotle found the clan no longer felt like the home they grew to love. It pained them to leave their son, but they knew what they had to do. They either had to find their missing queen, Fenn, or Clan Yonder was no long worth living in.

They succeeded in their goal, and Clan Yonder was liberated from the clutches of Azra. A new queen arose, and Aristotle and Amberlyn decided to stay. They stayed as Adrika reformed the clan and made it strong again. They stayed as the clan gave up its monarchy and turned to a life of service as an inn, and they stayed as the inn expanded into the bustling port town of Iyonda Landing.

Now, Aristotle enjoys a quiet life alongside his wife. As he has found home is wherever Amberlyn is, he is happy to go where she goes. He loves her, and the large family they have started together. He has actually grown to become a father figure to many, even those that are of no relation to him. Sometimes, he grows restless in the town, and tired of seeing all the same sights. Whenever that happens, he and Amberlyn pack their bags, and they once again go travelling around Sornieth, seeing the sights and visiting family and old friends.

Home. Heh, It’s a strange word.

Where is home? Where you live? Where you stay?

For me, home has always been with Amberlyn.

Well, maybe not always. I was born into a clan on the borders of the Shifting Expanse, but that land never really felt right to me. Everyone was always in a hurry, and there was never a moment of silence.

I much prefer it here, in the Windswept Plateau. Everyone is so upbeat and happy, so carefree, like there’s not a single problem in the world.

I also met Amberlyn here in the Plateau. We were both traveling dragons, back then, though I still don’t have the courage to ask why she left her previous clan. I probably never will.

We were alone on the skies for a while, before we settled with the Yonder Clan. Back then, it was still so cheerful. There was always a positive atmosphere.

Now that Fenn has gone missing, and Azra has taken her place, we are both considering flying away for a while, maybe try to find Fenn. It’s probably not a good idea to write about this though. Azra will have both our heads if she discovers we are planning to flee.

Once he was almost killed, Ember finally convinced her to back off, and he sent him away from Trap Street to live with Fim's family in the Inn Over Yonder. Fim settled in relatively quickly. Though Fim found Sacredscream's historical books interesting, he found himself being more and more drawn to the works of fiction, many of them left behind by Sacredscream's adopted daughter, Solo, when she left the clan. Maybe it was the sense of adventure, all the excitement and risk without any work or risk on his part. Or maybe it was the way he didn't have to be anybody when he read them. He soon found he could not get enough. He read and reread the books he found, and soon found himself dressing like his favourite characters. He was surprised when Sacredscream approached him asking if he wanted to join him as his apprentice librarian. Fim was surprised, but accepted happily. The library was somewhere he felt he belonged. Since then he has taken up the role of managing the fiction section. He has become surprisingly good friends with Sacredscream, and views him as somewhat of a father figure (though he does visit his biological father from time to time, and occasionally his mother). Stuttering, he declined, but Freya did not give up. She was determined to push him out of his comfort zone and take a risk for once. Eventually, he accepted her offer, and the two of them went out together, alone. The trip almost killed Fim, but Freya saved his life and brought him back safely. She dumped him at the library, grunting an apology before taking off again. It was a while before she approached him again. Freya seems more respectful of his boundaries now, though she still likes to push him to try new and potentially dangerous things. Fim longs to impress her, and often tries new things to try and do so. In return, Fim has been trying to find Freya the perfect book. This has proven difficult, as she has no patience for reading, but she does seem to enjoy listening to him read stories, especially the ones containing adventures. Even so, she doesn't have the patience to listen for long. Fim is still on the hunt to find the book that captures her full attention. Little does he know that the reason this is so difficult is because Freya is more happy to be giving him her full attention rather than some story. Somehow, and without either of them actually asking the other or deciding it, they have started dating, or at least, that's what the rumors around the clan say. Both of them are too awkward with emotions to really find words for what they feel for each other, so they have stopped trying to correct their clanmates and instead have just accepted it as fact. The visits are awkward, but as his mother is making an effort to get to know the real him, he is willing to make an effort to build a proper relationship with him. Due to his parents bad parenting, he finds himself awkward around hatchlings. Because of this, he has a rather awkward relationship with his children, especially Gavis. I am desperate, if nothing else
in a holding pattern to find myself.

Fim and his Parents
Fimbrethril has always felt like he has had to be someone else. From the moment he hatched, his mother has pushed him into battle training, but he doesn't have the same fiery will to fight. Though his father argued against it, she constantly threw him into situations he wasn't ready for. Once he was almost killed, Ember finally convinced her to back off, and he sent him away from Trap Street to live with Fim's family in the Inn Over Yonder.

Fim settled in relatively quickly. He felt at home with his accepting, if odd, family, though he could never quite shake the feeling he had failed his parents. Looking at their accomplishments as warriors, he couldn't understand why he couldn't do the same. He found himself wishing he could just suck it up and grow stronger.

Taking on the Apprenticeship
Growing concerned at his unhealthy obsession with pushing himself beyond his limits, Fim's great-great-great-great grandfather, Aristotle, encouraged him to check out the library. It was there that Fim met Sacredscream, the historian and librarian of the clan. The tundra looked surprised to see him there, but immediately began helping him find a book to read.

He finds joy in finding the perfect book for whatever dragon is visiting, and will not stop until he finds it. Sometimes his searches can go on for months if the dragon is particularly picky.

Freya
Fim was enraptured by Freya the moment she stepped aboard the Adrika. He admired her confidence, and her ability to through herself into anything, regardless of the risk. He often watched her from a distance, wondering what dangerous excursion she would try next.

He was even more surprised when Freya approached him to join her on one of her "tours." Stuttering, he declined, but Freya did not give up. Fim's Family
Fim was not able to stay away from his mother forever. Though the clan remembers the day with a humorous fondness, it was the day of Freya's biggest disappointment. She had spent weeks planning to scale up the highest cliff of the Reedcleft Ascent. The winds around it were so fierce that only the most skilled of wind dragons could navigate them. Rumor had it that no dragon outside of the wind flight had ever touched its soil, so Freya set out to be the first. Scaling the sheer cliffs took a week. She almost fell multiple times, but she refused to give up. She stopped only when her body pushed her to eat or sleep. Finally, the day came where she reached the top. She let out a roar of triumph as she pulled herself onto the windblown grass, only to find a large group of dragons staring at her. Jean had managed to land the Adrika on top of the cliff, and all the dragons on board had gotten out to have a look around. Many of these dragons were not wind-born. Freya was furious. It was one of the first times she had ever tasted failure, and she vowed to never taste it again. She reluctantly accepted the invitation to join the dragons on the Inn Over Yonder, not intending to stay forever. Life at the Inn Over Yonder Soon after she joined the clan, she established herself as a tour guide. Unfortunately, after her first tour (which nearly resulted in three deaths and left one dragon with the inability to fly for a month due to a sprained wing), Olivia forbade her from running anymore tours, saying she was too much of a daredevil for any dragon to safely follow her on a tour. Since then, she has not stopped her tours, but she no longer openly advertises them. Instead, she approaches random dragons and tries to entice them into joining her. Thankfully, there have been no deaths yet, but there have been many many close calls. Freya has made a handful of friends at the inn. One of the closest is with Jean, the main pilot of the sky ship. Her bitterness at the Reedcleft incident quickly faded to admiration for the pilot, and she spends a lot of time trying to convince her friend to take more risky maneuvers to make the flight "more interesting." Fimbrethil Freya has taken quite an interest in Fimbrethil, the nerdy librarian's apprentice. She seems to think, much to his surprise, that he needs more excitement and risks in his life. Though he disagrees, she has managed to drag him out on a number of risky excursions. She thinks it's good for him, though whether or not it actually is remains to be seen. Fimbrethil's mother, Epidemic, was not happy to see her son hanging out with a plague dragon, being deathly afraid of illness of all kinds, but has since warmed up to her more now that she sees she is helping her son step out of his comfort zone. That being said, she still has no desire to go near Freya. Freya is not familiar with feelings of affection, so she does not understand exactly what it is that draws her to such a timid dragon, but he has surprisingly managed to rope her into listening to him read a few of his favourite stories. Though she grows bored quickly and cannot listen for long periods of time, she has found she actually enjoys adventurous stories, and Fimbrethil is only too happy to try and find the perfect book for his girlfriend. Iyonda Landing As the clan expanded from an inn into a port town, Freya was only too happy to expand her business. Now that there is no longer anyone to stop her from giving her tours, she openly advertises them. She also spends her days trying to sneak back onto the inn to visit Jean and "help" her pilot the large airship. Olivia has since banned her from the inn for endangering the lives of the passengers, but that doesn't stop her from joining the inn occasionally on its voyage through the skies. Song: Accidental Light - Sleeping at Last

Some call it reckless, some call it breathing.

Personality
Survival. That's what Freya has always known being a plague dragon is about, and so being the stubborn and competitive dragon she is, Freya set out to survive as many impossible situations as possible. She has thrown herself into hurricanes, scaled treacherous cliffs, and would have gone for a dip in the Wyrmwound had she not been dragged away (struggling the whole way) by a concerned passerby.

She knows life is not forever. That's a lesson one learns quickly in the Scarred Wasteland. Freya has made it her goal to live her life to the fullest, as brief as it may be. Her way of doing that is taking risks. The rush of adrenaline is what reminds her that she's living, and the satisfaction of having survived another dangerous experience is what she lives for. She wants to prove herself as the best survivor of them all.

Joining The Inn Over Yonder
She came across the Inn Over Yonder quite by accident.

Life at the Inn Over Yonder
Soon after she joined the clan, she established herself as a tour guide.

Her bitterness at the Reedcleft incident quickly faded to admiration for the pilot, and she spends a lot of time trying to convince her friend to take more risky maneuvers to make the flight "more interesting."

Fimbrethil
Freya has taken quite an interest in Fimbrethil, the nerdy librarian's apprentice.

Iyonda Landing
As the clan expanded from an inn into a port town, Freya was only too happy to expand her business.

Apothecary

Some far away
Some search for gold
Some dragon to slay
Heaven we hope is just up the road
Show me the way, lord, 'cause I... I'm about to explode

Baron is the son of Aristotle and Amberlyn. He grew up in the peaceful days before Azra had succeeded in taking over the clan, and his childhood remains one of his fondest memories. His two sisters, Shade and Aster, left the clan relatively young, and though Baron was sad to see them go, he was not left alone.

As a hatchling, his best friend was a beautiful imperial named Blood. She had shown up in the clan alone not long after Baron's hatching, and Baron and his sisters quickly jumped to show her around. The four of them became good friends, and when Shade and Aster decided they wanted to see the world, Blood and Baron grew even closer.

They did everything together. Baron was beside her as she discovered how much she loved needlework. For their coming of age, she made him a scarf. He vowed to wear it every day of his life. While Blood was discovering her passions, Baron was discovering his. he had a fascination in herbs and their uses. He spent lots of time in the gardens with the clan's gardener, Flicker, learning about all the different types of plants. He would always bring back flowers for Blood.

On the day of their coming of age, Baron pulled Blood aside and asked her to marry him. She agreed, and when they announced their relationship, the clan rejoiced. They had watched the hatchlings grow up together, and knew that they were perfect for each other.

Unfortunately, after their coming of age, Baron woke up to find Blood no longer beside him. He was not concerned at first, but as time passed and he did not see her, he began to panic. To bring himself out of his grief, he began to work more with herbs. Once he became proficient enough, he started helping dragons out when they had minor illnesses or injuries. Eventually, it got to the point where he was able to open his own Apothecary.

One day, while he was in the middle of studying some new herbs, he was interrupted by Belarus, who had walked in. He did not know her very well, as he had kept mostly to himself and to his family since Blood's death.

"Can I help you?" He asked, slightly irritably. He adjusted the fez on his head, and stepped away from his work. The specked wildclaw hesitated before replying. She seemed to be acting catious, as if she was afraid of him snapping out at her.

Around her was not the familiar rosey spires and gleaming observatory of the Starfall Isles, but instead she was surrounded by tall, windblown stalks of bamboo. She shivered, feeling the unfamiliar cool breeze against her scales. Filled with both nervousness and curiosity, Belarus began to explore her surroundings. She had only taken a few steps through the bamboo forest when she heard voices that froze her to the spot. "Are you sure no one else followed us?" A fierce voice snapped. Whoever the voice belonged to, she sounded angry. "I'm certain." A voice that sent chills up the hatchlings spine responded. "You better be!" The first voice spat back. "I've spent months planning this, and I am not going to lose it all now because some pea-brained child decided it was her business to snoop around!" Belarus gulped. Were they talking about her? The tundra dragged her through the bamboo untill they reached a small, hidden hollow. Her pink eyes glinted disdainfully at Belarus. "A hatchling!" She roared. Belarus expected the tundra to cower at such wrath, but he stared evenly at her. "You're telling me a hatchling is supposed to take the blame for this imperial's death?" "It was what you summoned." The tundra responded. His voice still gave the young wildclaw chills. "Perhaps you could cast the spell again?" "If I brought over a hatchling this time, I'll be lucky to bring over a beetle! This is all your fault! You took up too much power, it's still recharging!" "We can make do with a hatchling." The tundra gave Belarus a strange look. "Besides, once we're done, she'll be too scarred to protest the accusations." "How likely is it that a tiny hatchling can take down an imperial? You do realize my entire reputation is at stake here, the one thing keeping me in this clan?" "Just trust me." She longed to tell someone what had really happened, what she had really seen, but every time she tried, her courage failed her. It was not too long, however, before Belarus opened up to her new clanmates. As much as she missed her old home, she had no idea where to even begin looking for it. She waited for the pang of guilt, but none came. It was such a common thought now, she was numb to it. As she walked past the apothecary store-front, Belarus paused. The shopkeeper, Baron, was a dragon she had often tried to steer clear of. He had been close to Blood, and when Belarus came to the clan, he wouldn't even look at her. Belarus gave him his space, and everyone in the clan had said he'd come around, but he never did. Grief hung too close to him. Looking at the shop, Belarus was filled with desperation. Healer/Apothecary

There's nothing that I'd take back
but it's hard to say there's nothing I regret.

Unfortunately, one downside with being immune to the effects of poison is that unless you hold a vast knowledge of poisons, it can be difficult to actually detect a poison. After one mistake too many, one that caused the death of one of the nobles, Eldan was thrown out of the clan and he was out of a job. Wracked with guilt, Eldan wandered Sornieth. Nowhere he went allowed him to be free of the dragon whose death he had caused. Every time he closed his eyes, there was his face, staring at him. The first time he encountered another dragon, it was a young bogsneak hatchling by the name of Lottie. He could tell immediately that she had eaten something poisonous, and he immediately rushed to her aid. He whipped up an antidote and fed it to her, saving her life. Though he didn't really want to be around more dragons, he couldn't let himself leave Lottie alone until he was sure she was okay. He ended up settling down in a hidden street behind Lottie's clan known as Trap Street. It was the perfect place for him. No one had to know that he had killed a dragon, and even if they did find out, no one would care, or at the very least, they wouldn't be able to throw him out of the clan. He devoted his time to the study of poisons and antidotes so that he could prevent more deaths from happening. Unfortunately, Trap Street wasn't to last. Poisons Master

As Eldan was born with the gift of poison immunity, he soon left his birth clan to take up a job as a poison tester for a group of nobles.

As the inn it was behind expanded into a Port Town, Trap Street was disbanded, and the members were given a choice between staying in the new town, or leaving to find a new home.
