Azra had recently taken over Clan Yonder and was turning everything on its head. The moment she could walk and fly, she was assimilated into her brutal training program. She was the only one of her siblings to pass the testing, the others were forced to leave and were left for dead. She began to form close ties with the other Azra trained warriors, whom she had been training alongside since childhood. These dragons included Carmen, Raven, Cody, Cawthorne and Oriso. As her grandmother's disappearance and her uncle's death had caused great rifts in the family, she didn't spend much time with her cousin, Faran. Little did she know he too was being trained, but for a different purpose. Though she was one of the strongest warriors in the clan after Azra's training, things were difficult, and not without loss. Oriso and Cody were killed when battling each other in a training session, and it was Adrika who watched Raven fall apart from losing her brother. She saw the suffering of her clanmates, and all the hatchlings that went out for testing and never came back. Some, she hoped, survived to find new clans. One day, however, everything changed. Her grandmother, Fenn, was rescued and returned, and a rebellion sparked. It took Adrika by surprise. Azra's reign was all she had ever known, and she had not been included in the rebellion. Still, seeing her clanmates' bravery, she knew what side to fight on. She betrayed Azra and fought against her and the Death Howlers who backed her up. It was a fearsome and difficult battle, but the rebellion succeeded. Though they had achieved their goal, the cost was great. Everything was destroyed, not a single structure was left intact. Many dragons died fighting, including Adrika's own mother. The dragons that survived were disheartened and broken, despite their victory, at what Clan Yonder had become and at all they had lost. Many dragons left the clan, unable to stay in the place that had caused them so much pain. Adrika watched them go. It was the leaving of Faran and Raven that affected her most in the mass exodus from Clan Yonder. Raven, because she was one of the few friends she had left, and after losing so much. It was hard to watch another friend go. Faran, because though she did not know her cousin well, he had been the symbol of the revolution set up to be king as the rightful heir. With him leaving, Adrika was next in line. She accepted her role as queen, and immediately set to work fixing the clan she loved. She had not been alive when Fenn was ruling, but she had heard talk of what the clan had been like before Azra, and she strove to re-achieve that ideal. She also desired to make the clan stronger and more secure so that nothing like Azra's reign could happen ever again. One of her methods for doing this was to create the Council of Twelve, a council which included the current leader and a representative from each flight. The purpose of the Council was simple: limit the power of the leader and ensure the wellbeing of every dragon in the clan. Though she chose not to revoke the tradition of heirs, she also wanted to make sure the Council could disband a leader that was unsuitable for the throne. Though she was very young when she took on leadership, she quickly became a well loved and respected leader. She hopes that in the years to come, even after she no longer holds her position, that her time as Queen of Clan Yonder leaves a benevolent mark on the clan. Little does she know that she has become one of the most influential leaders of the clan, in the past, present and future. Of her close group of friends, only Carmen and Cawthorne remain. What they have been through has created a bond that will never be broken. Carmen helps her out in any way she can, and to this day is the dragon Adrika considers her best friend. Cawthorne travels often, but he has unwavering loyalty to Adrika and Clan Yonder, and he has become her mate. Adrika

Queen of Clan Yonder/Head of the Council of Twelve
Subclan: Clan Yonder

A beautiful queen, in all her splendor
solemn and wise, yet kind and tender
in spite of all the blood that's been spilled
and friends she's seen killed
she remains steadfast and just
and one day far away when she's gone
and even her crown has begun to rust
they'll still remember her name
the queen that conquered with wits and not fang
and they'll quietly ponder
if there'll ever be a better Queen
than Adrika who ruled over Clan Yonder.

Adrika was born into chaos.

Eventually, the day came where she decided it was time to leave the clan in which she had been born. She wanted to see bigger and better things, and perform for a wider audience, so without a word, she packed her bags and hit the sky, not knowing where she would end up. She was not yet fully grown at this point, just a young dragon, off to seek her fortune. She did not find the big stage she had been hoping for, but what she did find was a small clan that seemed to need a lot more light in their lives. It was here that she decided to stay, as it was not for fame and fortune that she performed, as much as she desired that, it was for the love of the art, and Clan Yonder seemed like they would appreciate her skills. It was here that she decided to settle. She soon got herself established in her art, and began putting on weekly shows. She would perform on a small, makeshift stage. Eventually, the dragons who went to see her shows started paying a donation upon admission, and she got the funds to build a bigger stage. As time went on, and her audience grew, she became somewhat of a local celebrity. Sometimes dragons from nearby clans would even come to see her shows. He had been dreading this night. He always dreaded these nights, but they came anyway. So he stood alone, far from his friends, his home, his mate. He stood completely and 100% alone. And there the darkness overtook him.[/i][/center] Remus is a shade touched dragon. He was first when he was a very young hatchling and another shade touched dragon turned him in hopes of recruiting him for a shade army. At first, he was terrified and unable to control it. It would leak or explode out of him in burst, most frequently at night, especially on the nights of the full moon. As the Tangled Wood is dark most of the time, he fled his home to find a place with more light. He spent a while in the Sunbeam Ruins, and gradually, being exposed to weaker and weaker concentrations of the shade, he was able to keep it in check. In his time there, one night in a copse of trees, he came across a black wolf. He was shocked, because most creatures fled from him when his shade was at the strongest, and he had grown incredibly lonely. The presence of the wolf allowed him to practice keeping the shade away from other creatures. The wolf became his only friend. He named the wolf Marauder. Eventually it got to the point where he could keep it in check almost constantly, except for the nights of the full moon, where all the pent up shade energy exploded and he would completely lose control of himself. But as long as no dragons were close to him during that time, there were no huge consequences. Once he was certain he was in control and would not hurt anybody, he flew off in search of a clan to belong to. He didn't want to return to the Tangled Wood, as he now feared and hated the darkness, but as a dark dragon, he couldn't stand the brightness of the light in the Sunbeam Ruins, so he flew around aimlessly to other elemental regions, making sure to fly slow enough that Marauder could follow. Eventually, he reached the Windswept Plateau. There he encountered two young dragons, just out of their hatchling stage and just a little older than himself. They had sneaked out of their clan, and they were excited to find a new friend. Ignoring his protests, they brought him back to Clan Yonder, where he, after a slight argument with them (after all, he was used to being alone and though the clan was small, he wasn't used to being around so many dragons), he was resigned to stay. He soon came to enjoy his new home, for he had never felt so welcomed and loved anywhere. Ripley, Tonks and months after he had joined, a newcomer named Sybil, became his friends. However, he didn't tell them about his secret, scared they would abandon him if they did. Instead, he left without warning every full moon, and arrived, exhausted and beaten up, the morning after. If his friends ever realized he was gone, they didn't say anything. Eventually, Sybil worked it out. she confronted him, and he confessed to everything. To his surprise, she didn't hate him, and instead, encouraged him and told him he was strong and brave for not succumbing to it and learning to control it. He had never considered himself brave before. After this, he begged her not to tell anyone, and she agreed, but encouraged him to tell Tonks. Remus was surprised. When he asked her why she would say this, Sybil had just laughed. "I've seen the way you look at each other." She had explained. "If you're going to have a future with her, she deserved to know about this." Remus promised to tell her. He had never been so scared as when he told Tonk. He stammered through his while explaination and told her if she didn't want to be mates, if she didn't want to potentially pass down his condition to their future hatchlings, he wouldn't hold it against her. But to his surprise, she didn't care that he was shade touched, and that she wanted to be with him regardless. They became mates soon after that, and Remus had never felt so happy. They were mates for a long long time, and he stayed by her side through the entirety of Azra's harsh reign. He comforted her when four out of their five daughters failed to pass Azra's testing and disappeared without any signs of where they had been, and he felt with her the pain of losing them. They watched together as their youngest daughter, Adrika, rose to become a fierce warrior, and often wondered who she would have become had she not had to go through Azra's harsh training. Nevertheless, they were proud of their daughter. When the rebellion struck, He and Tonks fought side by side, protecting the clan they loved. Unfortunately, Tonks was slain in battle, and in all of his pain and anger, Remus lost control of the shade. He fought incredibly fiercely, driving out many of the mirrors that were attacking them. Unfortunately, due to not having enough control over the shade, one of his clanmates, Hufflepuff, also was a victim of his ravaging. After the rebellion, though they had one, Remus did not feel like he had won. He had lost Tonks. He had lost control. He was certain he was going to be thrown out. But he wasn't. When the mass exodus of dragons from Clan Yonder left, he stayed to help rebuild the clan he loved, the clan Tonks loved. He decided to stay there for their daughter, who had become leader, and slowly, he began to find happiness again, though he knows he will always carry the pain of all her had lost with him. When Adrika created the Council of Twelve and he was offered the position of Shadow Representative, Remus almost refused. Shade-Touched "Werewolf"
Subclan: Trap Street

Remus shuddered as the day faded further into night. He had been dreading this night. He always dreaded these nights, but they came anyway. So he stood alone, far from his friends, his home, his mate. He stood completely and 100% alone. And there the darkness overtook him.

Remus is a shade touched dragon.

He had spent too long living in the darkness, he didn't want anything to remind him of his beginnings, or the shade that lived inside of him. Eventually, however, he did accept, and is proud to support his daughter in her reign, and knows how happy this would have made Tonks.

Queen
Song: East - Sleeping at Last

I bear little resemblance to the king I once was,
And I bear little resemblance to the king I could become.
Maybe paper is paper, maybe kids will be kids,
But Lord I want to remember how to feel like I did.

Iago grew up on stories of the queens that once ruled Clan Yonder. She dreamed of one day being a queen like them, and was disappointed when her father told her the clan would never have another queen. It didn't need one anymore, it was an inn.
