bump for you! Thanks for listing positions I kept trying to figure out the difference between Boatswain and Quartermaster since Wikipedia isn't the best and on other sites some duties seemed blurred.

Hope this doesn't count as necroposting. Yer Cap'ns Name: Lovell Name o' Yer Ship: The Royal Oyster 'Ow Many Hands D'Ye 'Ave: Now? 0. Tell Us a Bit More 'Bout Yer Lore an' Yer Pirates: - First, I go off of Sornieth having more than one "layer," explained in this not-yet-complete thing. (It'll launch eventually, but until it's ready, it's just handy for explaining where I'm coming from.) - I am the writer, not a character. Some people incorporate themselves as characters into their lore, and there are some really cool ways that people do that. However, I don't. Okay, now onto the lore I'm using for my pirate characters. - The Royal Oyster sailed a long time ago, and was sunk in a large ship-to-ship battle. Any who once sailed aboard it is likely dead (due to the occupation's mortality rate along with how long ago this was), with the exception of one, older dragon who used to be a cabin boy aboard the vessel. The ship and its crew primarily kept to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, terrorizing the lands around it. It also used to be called the Demeter. - Dragons in-story will almost always not be the same age as the pixel version that represent them. - I used a lot of the guidelines posted here to help shape the premise of Sornieth's pirating scene, and left a good amount of maneuverability for it to be incorporated more. (Seriously, thanks for the info/guidelines.) I'm avoiding the consumption of poisons that would be used to kill your enemy as alcohol nigh entirely, and shying away from the SLW (I have other authorities in place for the layer of Sornieth I'll be writing these guys in, but I'm sure groups like then both can and do exist, both in the layer I'll be writing these guys in, and in other layers), lore-wise, though, and for me, exaltion can be either literally going to serve whichever deity (whether with menial stuff or with "going to war"), or dying (sometimes with the former leading to the latter.) 'Ave Anythin' Special Ye'd Fancy Sharin': As for now, I don't have any plans on gathering up pages and pages of pirates. I have enough projects, heh. 'Sides, the way this story's going, I don't think I'll fill out a whole crew, especially of specific dragons. Most of my pirates are generic (which is also why I don't have a set number of how many the Oyster used to have.) Showcase Yer Pirates: Here're all two of 'em! Full explanation in his bio, but the short of it is that the real Lovell died and this guy's a recreation of him. He's just getting restarted, so he doesn't have a ship yet, let alone a crew. Seven Including Stern. About two dozen total. Tell Us a Bit More 'Bout Yer Lore an' Yer Pirates: Stern found the Slattern as a young tad. Fresh and green to the wiles of the world, Stern, then Oslo, was working as a caravan hand for Ryzolli. He sought enough money to realize his dream of sailing the seas. Surprisingly, that wouldn't take long. As they were traveling along the northern coasts of the Starfall Isle, they came across a fishing village carved into the cliffs. Here, Oslo met a local mirror, Stern's soon to be salvation. On the Horizon lay something just beyond discerning to Oslo's eyes. Rorrim explained to the lad that what lay on a sandy island north of the coast. A ship of steel and heavy with guns. Ancient beyond measure. Amazed, Stern flew to see it, followed by Rorrim and a few other caravaneers. What they found was astonishing. A large ship, mostly in one piece. It was mostly untouched by both time and scavengers. With a little bit of fur grease, Stern decided that the ship could be returned to working order. With his own funds, and some fairly sizable loans from Ryzolli and his buddies, Stern got to work. There were weird things though. Strange lights at night. Eyes in the dark that may or may not have been there. The more disreputable workers fled but the gracious and awed ones found themselves unaffected or benefitted. In what stern thought could have been the captain's quarters, he found a large tricorn which he wears to this day. Rorrim explained that most dragons end up chased off of the island by spirits. He figured that because Stern only wanted to return the ship to its previous glory, the spirits approved and that others were run off for trying to steal or disrespect the ship. After Stern got the Slattern floating, named for how much of a b**** it was to get going again according to the local mirror, they still had to clean the gunk out of all the ships components. It needed fuel, petroleum, to heat the ship's boilers too which was not easy to get. Once it was in the water, Stern got several local Guardians to pull the ship into the nearest port capable of supporting the needs of the ship. It took months, maybe years, but Stern got the ship into full working order. Nowadays, the Slattern haunts the Starfall Isles and Southern Icefields mostly. It takes odd jobs of pulling barges, transporting cargo, pirate hunting, and yes, privateering. Stern is in it for the sailing. Most of his crew is in it for the money and fame, or maybe infamy. The Slattern does need a lot of work though. Since the ship has been in use, it has started to deteriorate, as if whatever was keeping it together for centuries has left. Stern, for now, is holding the ship in one piece. Several of the long guns on the deck had to be removed, leaving only two working batteries. A few rooms had to be resized by removing unnecessary walls. Even so, the lower portions of the ship is still only accessible to the flexible or small of stature. A creature about the shape of a Serthis is able to move effortlessly through the ship though. Most of the ship's crew is made up of small and medium-sized breeds with one Guardian. While Stern's crew is, for the most part merciless, Stern himself is quite a good person. 'Ave Anythin' Special Ye'd Fancy Sharin': Stern has a strange habit of chewing on short lengths of stick, like a cigar kind of. He gnaws them down until there is nothing left. His favorite is cinnamon wood, but that is hard to come by. He is also a little sensitive about his right eye which is covered by his eyepatch. Being a non-mage, Stern's internal magic can be altered relatively easily. Under his patch is an eye, but the wrong kind. It is infused with plague magic, making it a red colour with speckles of magenta and black. It is photosensitive so he covers it. It is also distracting to other dragons. It also appears to be more perceptive than his other eye and is able to track an alternate target to his other simultaneously. It bothers him considerably though. He was blasted in the face with plague magic attempting to protect a dragon that is now part of his crew. He also pays very well. Name o' Yer Ship: Slattern
'Ow Many Hands D'Ye 'Ave: Six of any merit. Seven Including Stern. About two dozen total.
Tell Us a Bit More 'Bout Yer Lore an' Yer Pirates:

Stern found the Slattern as a young tad.
