It is home to Rekhanci’s favoured bird, the crow, and even a few of the larger corvid cousins. Further up the spire, closest to the top, is where the unsettling Mire-born Whispers take nest. Although not native to the Icefields, they were brought in with a strange affection, and have found great comfort in the magically warm climate within Rekhanci. Well kept, all these birds provide some form of service to the kingdom, even if just for pets. The eccentric keeper of the tower is Koronis, a skydancer that most joke is half crow themselves. No one knows much about the elusive keeper, and a few don't even believe such a dragon exists, but such is the way of one who really doesn't care for social interaction.[nextcol] [item=Crow][/columns] [columns][item=Ceremonial Sash] [item=Azure Yuccarope][nextcol]Choice Textiles Choice Textiles is a lovely little two-floor shop on one of the main roads that make up the edge of the Artisanal Quarter. The Aviary

The aviary is an old part of the city, and one of the tallest builds besides the palace. It spirals up into the sky, the same sandy-coloured stone as makes up the majority of the royal-owned buildings. It is home to Rekhanci’s favoured bird, the crow, and even a few of the larger corvid cousins. Further up the spire, closest to the top, is where the unsettling Mire-born Whispers take nest. Choice Textiles

Choice Textiles is a lovely little two-floor shop on one of the main roads that make up the edge of the Artisanal Quarter. The first floor is a well-stocked shop of a variety of garments, hand-stitched by the skydancer Zahrah. The seamstress crafts clothing befitting warm and colder weather, as the citizens of Rekhanci often deal with both rather interchangeably.

The second floor is not often accessed by guests, and is the workshop of Capricorn. The crimson wildclaw is the dyer of the pair, and often helps Zahrah as well by trimming cloths and readying them for work. Capricorn’s fingers are often stained a motley of colours, so frequently does she handle freshly stained cloth.

Deora's Truth

Looking more like a quaint little home than a place for visitors to stop at, the only indication of Deora’s practice is a little sign hanging just beside the door that reads “TRUTH” and nothing else. A small sign is pressed into the window, which will often read “OPEN” in the day and “CLOSED” closer to the witching hour. Within, one is swathed in darkness and flickering candles, the latter of which is multiple in number. Deora is often floating around her domain working on small projects as she waits for guests.

Although outsiders might assume there is only a con to be found within Deora’s shop, residents of the city do marvel out how accurate Deora’s predictions can sometimes be…

The Forge

The forge is simple in design, but grand in size. It is an old part of the city, a remnant of the days when Rekhanci was known for war and combat rather than art and magic. Although that part of their culture is largely behind them, the forgemasters Maurus and Foss still make a living crafting sturdy armor and weapons.

They sell legacy weapons and gear to collectors within the city, those who only wish to adorn their walls, as well as ensuring the Blades are properly equipped and ready. Export of weapons is, at this point, not their greatest asset, but it isn’t unusual for them to package up a crate of fine weaponry and ship it off elsewhere in Sornieth.

The Garden of Summers is considered, to most, the shining jewel of the city. It is a feat of magical prowess, and a beauty to behold. Although its creation is largely credited to Archmage Mira and her closest Kazirin, it is to this day upkept by a small crew of gardeners and Kazirin alike. Melia is by no means the most powerful magic wielder, but her love for the Garden runs deep and the tender hand with which she deals with the blossoms is touching to all who visit. Leafstorm, an herbalist, relishes in the herbs the Garden bears, and is always keen to see its next batch grow perfectly.

Euria’s shop is easy to miss, but hard to forget. Located on the edge of the city almost, with the second floor overhanging and causing the shop sign to be overshadowed, it’s certainly only visitable by the most stubborn of shoppers. In fact, Euria’s business is largely generated via word-of-mouth.

The shop sells large pieces of uncut wood, useful to anyone who knows what to do with it from there. Separately, Euria carves her own trinkets and the like, lovingly and painstakingly made for her own pleasure primarily. Ruark, her mate, is often in the shop as well. Smelling strongly of the sea, it is rare to find him watching the shop, as Euria isn’t often away.
