Just adding my thanks, as a 70yo person who has been through this much of my life with no idea who I am, because until a few years ago, there was no word for me. Now, I'm a Genderqueer person whose driver's license says "female" and at this point, with a wonderful husband, fabulous kids of various genders, orientations and identities, and grandkids who are young enough not to spend a lot of time thinking about it yet, I'm happy enough to be called a woman by the world. Those who have a deeper interest in who and what I am all know, and that's what matters to me, again, at this point in my life.
Oh, and I do know some people know *very* early in life where they fit, but my little birds aren't in that number, so I'm just watching and waiting and *really* watching, as is their mom, for indications that they either know or are troubled by the question, so I can step up beside them with my support.
Anyway, thank you deeply for doing this. Can't wait to send my chosen-family the link to this thread!
