His expression tells me he is excited to be going somewhere, but not thrilled that we weren't coming back here. He picks up a piece of bark and nibbles at it for something to do. "Is she coming?" I ask. He shrugs his shoulders and glances at the tree. "Pandora! The sooner we get going, the sooner we can find a place to spend the night!" I call to her. "No! We can spend the night here!" she yells back, her voice a bit muffled by the tree. Theo gets up and walks back under the tree. "Theo! Theo no! Let go of me! I don't want to go! Traitor!" The young tundra walks back to me walking on three legs, firmly holding Pandora in one of his paws. She bites one of his fingers and he flinches, but doesn't let her go. "Pandora! Why did you bite him? Apologize! This kind of behavior is not how I raised you!" She murmurs something under her breath. "I don't believe he heard you." "...sorry." "This is the best thing to do for the both of you. We need a clan. Let's go," I tell her firmly. I turn and walk off. Theo releases Pandora and follows. Pandora hasn't moved from where Theo set her down, but once we were out of her line of sight I hear her take to the air to catch up to us. She lands on my shoulder and crawls into my satchel. At least now she's with us. I take them out to train first. They both learn quickly and decide what they want to be in our little team. Pandora has a natural talent with magic, and soon learns how to heal. Theo diligently protects her, often taking many blows and scratches meant for his little sister. I remain the assasin I was trained as, and try my best to take down the enemies as quickly as possible. We take many breaks during the day, as to not tire my children out too much. "Alright," I say, looking up into the sky. The sun is beginning to set. "We should find a shelter...where's Pandora?" I ask, concerned that I no longer saw her with Theo. He jumps up and looks around, looking as panicked as I felt. "Pandora! Where are you?" I yell. "Over here!" I hear her call back. Her voice came from a denser patch of undergrowth. I leap through the bushes, staying streamlined to avoid being slowed down by the thick brush. I hear Theo crash after me. Pandora is sitting in front of a bush, talking in gentle tones to it. "Look what I've found mom! Can I keep him?" She moves the bush a little more to reveal a [item=Bamboo Phytocat][i] kitten. It hissed and its eyes widened with fear when it saw me. "Oh shush," Pandora cooed to it. It glanced back at her, calming down a bit. "See? He likes me!" "So long as he keeps up," I nod. "Now, let's find some shelter before the sunlight leaves us." We walk until the sunlight is nearly gone. Little rays of light sharply pierced through the trees. Ahead of me was a steep cliff twice as tall as myself, and carved out of it was a hole. It seems to be an old lair of some creature. I don't see any signs of animals or dragons here. This will do for tonight. Lance! You two ready to go?" I yell towards their rooms. "Coming!" yells Lance back. Taz flies out of his room as his answer. I decided today I would take them to the market. While I sold some of the junk we've found over the past week they could explore or possibly buy something with the money we'd earn. "Let's go then, don't forget the bag Lance!" I tell the guardian. His bag was packed with the most stuff since he was the largest and strongest. I jump into the sky and circle above my lair until my brothers become airborne. Taz barely made any noise as usual. Lance on the other hand made great booming noises with his wings as he became airborne. Sal stood as sure footedly on Lance's back as if he were standing on flat ground. I wonder where he had gone the other day. He had returned the next evening as if that was perfectly normal to dissapear for two days for no reason. Whatever the reason, he still seemed trustworthy, so I decided not to think on it too much. I led my brothers above the treetops toward the market. I smelled the food long before I heard the conversation buzz of the active space. The market is a square space, surrounded by ancient grey evergreens. Colorful stands and tents lined the space and formed three rows in the middle. I land on the road to the market just outside of the square. I watch as Lance circles around, trying to find a good spot to land. I nod to the open space in front of me, just inside of the square. It's a cleared spot meant as a landing area for the larger dragons. He glides down, and I cringe as his tail nearly takes out the flags on several tents. He lands on the ground with a hard BOOM, causing a sizeable amount of dust to fly up. At least he didn't hit anything. "Oops," I hear him comment. I see as the dust clears that he has knocked over a tent in one of the middle rows. I don't see any merchants emerging from the rubble, or anyone yelling at Lance. It was just an empty tent. "It's fine, now go have fun. I'll deal with the items." Lance walks off down one of the busier isles, with Taz perched on his head. Sal walked off to talk to some other longneck familiars that had accompanied their dragons here. I sell the items fairly quickly, but as I count my money I feel like the sneaky salesman had cheaped me out of some coins. I walk down one of the rows, looking for something that would catch my eye. I take a look at a few stands, but don't find anything. "Excuse me!" I hear. I turn around and see a female imperial with brown tiger stripes, bright pink wings, and white gems. Somehow little pink petals fluttered around her, seemingly blown by a gentle wind. "Excuse me sir," she asks a young mirror, carrying a purple box. "Can you help me out quick? She's holding a little map and a piece of paper in her hand. A little snake with butterfly wings that matches her colors is wrapped around her wrist like a bracelet. [item=mottled buttersnake] [i]"Yeah sure, but I'll need you to help me out first quick. Can you open this box for me? I can't get through this thick tape with my little claws!" He scootches the box toward her. "Oh sure! I'd be glad to-" she says as she uses her claw to slice the tape on the box. Before she can finish her sentence the box explodes, sending pine needles, cones, glowing blue mushrooms, and purple streamers flying everywhere. The mirror runs off, laughing hysterically. "You jerk!" She yells after him as she untangles streamers and pine needles from her fur. I walk up to her, "Do you need any help?" She gives me a poisonous look. "You aren't going to trick me, are you?" "No," I laugh, "Not all of us shadow children are such tricksters. What can I help you with?" "Well see, I'm looking for the old clan of a friend of my parent's," She unrolled the map. It was a battered map of the shadow lands, with parts smudged out from water damage. A small red x was marked on the map. "See, I'm looking for the clan led by um, who is it?" She checked the little scrap of paper she held. "Shadow! Shadow is her name!" I felt a sharp pain in my chest, remembering my deceased leader. I choked on my words, "She's an imperial? With dark purple scales and bright pink wings..." I ask. "Yeah! That's what my parents described her as! They also said she wears the same apparel that you're wearing!" She exclaimed excitedly. I'm a bit shocked. This imperial was sent from my parents' lightning clan to find my clan. They don't know about the terrible disease that wiped everyone out. I shake my head and realize the imperial was still chattering on. "Hey you look really similar to my parents' friend, like almost identical! Freaky!" "I um, yes, I know who you're talking about. Shadow...She was my leader...I'm all that's left of that clan. It's likely your parents' friends are my parents, I look just like my dad." The imperial's eyes grew wide in surprise. "I..I...oh I'm so sorry! I know I shouldn't just keep blabbering on like that! That's so sad! I'm sorry that happened to you! Are you alright?" "I um, yes. I'm fine now...The name's Draco by the way." "My name's Candy!" She replied, shaking her mane, "Nice to meet you!" "So...why were you sent out here to Shadow to find my clan?" I ask. "My mom and dad thought it would be a good idea if I explored other Flights," she leaned in close and said softer, "I think they were just trying to get me out of their hair. So your parents suggested I join their old clan and drew me this map. Sadly it got ruined in that rainstorm a week ago and I lost all the directions, so I've been going around Shadow trying to find others that knew where I could find you! Lucky we found each other here!" "Would you still like to join? I wouldn't mind, but it's kinda tough out there, since me and my brothers don't have much hunting experience." "You have brothers? I thought you said your clan got wiped out? Oh I'm sorry! I'm being rude! My dad says I talk too much without thinking! But yes, I'd still like to join! It'll be fun!" "I um, yes. I found them as abandoned eggs, and have been taking care of them. I don't want them to see me as their father...I'm not ready for that kind of responsibility yet. It's getting late, we should find my brothers and head home then. One of my brothers is Lance, a big blue and brown guardian. Rather clumsy. My other brother is Taz, he's a little purple fae...where could they be?" I ask as I scan the market. "A fae? I heard coatls can't talk to faes! Is it true?" "Partly. I can talk to him just fine, he understands me. It's just that I can't understand him. All he says is the same note and it makes no sense of words to me." "Interesting!" She exclaims, "Hey is that them there? I see your brother...Lance, but the fae that's with him has green wings!" "I look at where she's pointing, and sure enough Lance is wading through the crowd, his head hung in disappointment. Taz is flying next to him, his wings appearing green because of some feather wing apparel he must have bought. "How'd it go today?" I ask Lance. "Badly," he has a disappointed look in his eye. I notice a rusty treasure chest balanced on his back. "Taz says Lance blew all his money on gambling and didn't win anything, while Taz here won a treasure chest and these green feathers!" Candy relayed to me as Taz chatted with her. Called Pandora from the back of the cave. "What is it? An animal? Or just another silly rock?" All morning she had been pestering me about the colorful stones set in the walls. The cave went back farther than I had first thought and Theo and Pandora were eager to explore it for me. "It's something bright green! I don't know what it is! It's kinda buried on the other side of this wall! I can't move the rubble!" "Get Theo to move it then! I' m still sleeping!" I huff as I set my head down on my paws. Pandora really needs to learn to do things on her own. "But mooom! I think this is something special! Will you please come look?" I growl as I get up on my feet. If she's just showing me another rock or some other piece of junk... I walk farther into the cave until I see Pandora. She is sitting in a hollowed out hole, with large rocks blocking the entrance to a smaller niche. "Now where is this thing you need me to get out?" "There! You can see it through this little hole!" She points to a small gap in the rocks only as big as her head. I lean down and peer through the space. "Oh my," I breathe. It's an abandoned [item=unhatched wind egg][i]. Who would go to such lengths to hide it in this abandoned cave? I tear away the rocks, slicing my palm on one of them. The cut doesn't bother me, I'm more concerned with getting that poor egg out of its prison. Once I cleared away enough rubble, Pandora entered the little space. She gently traced the darker green swirls on the light green egg, seemingly swirling with wind currents. As she touched it, the egg began to disintegrate with a light whoosh into a green fog. The fog swirled away with an unseen breeze to reveal the tiniest fae hatchling I'd ever seen. She gazed up at Pandora with her soft green eyes and made a quiet chirping noise, fanning her frills. "She's so cute mom! Can I name her?" I smile, "Yes, you may name her." She had found the egg after all. "I'll call her Mist! Like the way her egg disappeared!" Pandora jumped out of the niche, and Mist awkwardly tried to jump and fly out too. Her little wings weren't ready yet for flight. I pick her up in my paw, and gently set her on my back. "Theo!" I yell down into the cave, "Time to go!" His bird comes flying at us first, and caws as it passes over my head. Theo emerges shortly after. Pandora flies up to his face and lands on his head. "Theo look! We have a little sister! I just found her egg! Isn't she cute?" He walks over to investigate, tilting his head like he had when he was a hatchling. He leaned in close to sniff her, and to his surprise Mist grabbed hold of his cheek fur and held on tight. He jumped back in surprise, but the little fae maintained her grip on his fur. "Aw look at that," I smile, "She likes you!" Pandora helped the little hatchling onto Theo's head, and there she nestled into his fur to take a nap. Pandora wrapped her tail around the little fae, just to make sure she wouldn't roll off Theo's head while she slept. "Alright then, let's go. It's already mid-morning, and I want to find another place to stay before the sun sets." Hidden Discovery

"Hey mom, I think we should check this out!" Called Pandora from the back of the cave.

"What is it? An animal? Or just another silly rock?" All morning she had been pestering me about the colorful stones set in the walls. The cave went back farther than I had first thought and Theo and Pandora were eager to explore it for me.

"There! You can see it through this little hole!" She points to a small gap in the rocks only as big as her head. I lean down and peer through the space.

"Oh my," I breathe. It's an abandoned Unhatched Wind Egg

Her colors matched wonderfully, her wings a delicate shade of light blue, and her body a darker blue. She gazed up at Pandora with her soft green eyes and made a quiet chirping noise, fanning her frills. "She's so cute mom! Can I name her?"

I smile, "Yes, you may name her." She had found the egg after all.

It's already mid-morning, and I want to find another place to stay before the sun sets."

Help! There's weird white stuff on the ground outside! It's everywhere!" Lance panicked as he shook my shoulder. "What?" I ask groggily, hesitantly getting up from my warm bed. The air seemed cooler this morning than it had yesterday. "Come on! Come see! What is it?" Lance nearly yelled. "Calm down! It's probably just snow." "Snow? What's that?" "The white stuff. Frozen water. Haven't you ever-" I trail off, realizing he had not seen snow before. Lance continued to barrage me with questions, "Where does it come from? What does it do?" "It does nothing, it just melts when it gets warmer out. This must mean the Ice Festival has begun. Go on- touch it!" I smile, "It won't bite!" Lance carefully steps into the snow, making a large impression in the already deep powder. He picks up his paw quickly and wiggles his fingers. Suddenly the large guardian surged forward, diving headfirst into the snow. He plowed through it with his snout, and lashed his limbs about making it appear as though there was a snowstorm outside. Lance boomed with laughter the entire time. His laughter must have woken Taz up, as I feel a small weight alight on my shoulder. "You can go see what it is too, you don't always need my permission. Why am I even saying that...you already know." Taz shrugs and flies off to a tree to see what the snow was. When he landed on the branch, it made the thin twig bend under his combined weight with the snow. He took off again, but faster than he could clear the branch it swung up into another branch, knocking off all the snow in the process. I laugh, Taz was nowhere to be seen, but after a few seconds I see his head pop out of the pile of snow on the ground. "Draco! This snow stuff is great!" yells Lance. "It certainly is," I mostly say to myself. The Ice Gala is one of my favorite festivals of the year because of the snow. Candy approaches from behind me, "They seem to be enjoying themselves." Her pink petals floated gently around her, accenting her mottled wings. "Yeah, they are. Say Candy...would you maybe like to go for a walk with me in the snow?" I blush. "Sure Draco! Sounds fun! Race you to the trees!" She says, running off toward the thick forest. I smile shyly and chase after her. In other news I have shiny new bios posted on Draco, Kul, and Candy!

Also if you're reading this I could use some gene suggestions for some of my ungened babs :3 They're getting close to lvl 10 for a primary! (especially Pandora ^^' I don't know what to do with that emerald primary)

@darknessdragon
haha I'm not getting any snow where I live. Oregonian weather is as unpredictable as slots. lol Lance seeing snow for the first time makes me nostalgic.
Your new bios are pretty! :)

For Pandora, I honestly don't know. Tough nut to crack. Maybe tiger for primary?
