This thread is to track any gene errors that occur with the Cirrus dragon breed release This thread is for the newly released Cirrus genes only, and does not encompass previously released genes.

In this thread, players may report any errors they encounter with the new genes. These can be technical errors, or consistency issues. This thread is intended to focus on these potential errors so that they can be addressed swiftly

We define technical errors as things such as: pattern bleed, pixellation, halo effects, inconsistencies within the same breed, color swatch errors, genes being uploaded in place of other genes, misaligned templates, missing artwork, gaps, missing pixels along a seam, missing line art, stray pixels, patterns that bleed outside the silouette, etc.

We define consistency/style differences as differences between an existing gene and its counterparts on other breeds that may differ. Sometimes this is intentional, sometimes it's an oversight. If a style difference is brought up, we will confirm it as working as intended, or report it as an error and complete the change within a 45-day time limit.

Please report any errors you encounter and we will do our best to correct them in a timely manner. This thread will close out 45 days after release, on July 5, 2025. After this time, players may report technical issues with these and other gene errors in the Ancient Gene Error Backlog Thread, but further consistency issues will not be accepted for review and will be considered working as intended.

Note that it may take a short while for the site's internal image cache to reflect the corrected image assets.

Corrected Issues
  • Mist (All Cirrus) - The highlight layer was not dynamically recoloring and should not always be green. Fixed.
  • Morph (Cirrus F) - The accent gradients are missing from the wisps. Fixed.
  • Spores (Cirrus F, H ) - The accent color on the tail might benefit from being made more prominent. Fixed.
  • Vipera (All Cirrus) - The horn/claw layer should be on top of the pattern. Fixed.

Known Issues
  • Criculaworm (Cirrus F, H ) - The leg fades are missing.
  • Flames (Cirrus F) - The mouth pattern present on the M and H pose is missing.
  • Flaunt (Cirrus F) - The pattern present on the hatchling and m pose tails is missing.
  • Kumo (All Cirrus) - The claws are not colored in.
  • Loop (All Cirrus) - The loop pattern utilized on Veilspun manes is not utilized on Cirrus manes.
  • Orb (All Cirrus) - The pattern should climb up the horn a little bit.
  • Scales (All Cirrus) - The scales that normally cover the top of the tail are missing.
  • Soil (Cirrus F, H ) - The striped foot markings are missing.
  • Thorns (All Cirrus) - The accent color shaping could benefit from being mor of an arc shape.

Investigating (Not sure if issue or not)
  • Blaze - Conferring with the gene designer, as pearlcatchers, skydancers, aether, and imperials don't have gradients, but gaolers, tundra, veilspun, obelisk, aberrations do. Cirrus don't have the manes of the latter, but have more hair coverage than most of the former.

Working as intended
  • Multi-Gaze & Line-Breaking Tertiaries: Sadly, the multi gaze and line breaking tertiary issue is a technical limitation. Eyes must always layer over the primary, secondary, and tertiary genes, and they are not contextually aware of what is below them and able to alter their shape to accommodate. This is a limitation with all of our dragons that have line breaking tertiaries.
  • Rabicano/Roan - These genes are dimorphic and are intended to have different pattern and accent colors per sex.
  • Paradise - The size of the feathers was an artistic choice and is not considered an error.
  • Deco - The color saturation on deco is considered working as intended.
  • Coral - The color saturation on coral is considered working as intended.
  • Topscale - The mist accent colors are considered working as intended.
  • Sailfin - The shading is considered working as intended.
  • Skink - The eye stripe fade is considered to be within the acceptable range of variation for this gene.

I will be deleting reports that are not relevant to the Cirrus release, reports that have been corrected, reports are not considered an issue, duplicate reports, and discussion or chatter as I encounter/investigate them to keep the thread current with gene reports only.

This thread is accepting reports on Cirrus genes that were part of the breed launch only.

Cirrus Flair:
1. The gradient on the tail tuft of Cirrus M does not match those of Cirrus F and H.
2. Cirrus F is missing the diamond markings on the tail tuft displayed on both Cirrus M and H.
(Edit because this is a valid point made by other users:)
3. Inconsistent treatment with other breeds. Only Cirrus M and H with Flair display diamond markings on the tail. Other maned/tail-tufted breeds such as Obelisk and Pearlcatcher with Flair do not have these markings on the tail.

Cirrus mane is unaffected by blaze secondary unlike all other maned breeds. The gradient that is supposed to be there is missing. I'd assume a breed with this much mane wouldn't have this be an intended feature? Affects all cirrus poses.

Cirrus Soil: Cirrus M has stripes on the feet, consistent with other breeds. Cirrus F and H do not.

it seems like gnarlhorns' claws aren't overlayed correctly, and the claws underneath them are showing (most visible on dark colors with bright claws, such as, pictured below, black)

on the male, it shows on the front right leg

on the female, hind left leg

on the hatchling, front right leg

Cirrus Scales, all 3 poses, is missing the tail scales displayed on other breeds.
(I'm assuming the uncovered nose is deliberate for this breed.)

Cirrus Thorns: All 3 poses only have accent color present in a gradient at the tip of the thorns. This is inconsistent with other breeds, which have accent color in an arc along the inside edge of the thorns.
(This same issue was present in Dusthide Thorns at initial release and was later fixed.)
