I like the new Steampunk Wings to some capacity, but these are some major flaws in design, and it spans for multiple breeds, not just Female Mirrors:
Breed: Multiple (Using Mirror as Example)
Sex: Both (Female as Example)
Apparel: All Steampunk Wing Apparel
It's layered OVER the 'thumb' of her front wing, and not only is the back set on top of the back of her wing, it's drawn right over her tail. Not to mention the lack of shading on the 'feathers', making it look a bit more unrealistic.
Here's what I mean versus the old Steampunk Wings:
It looks fine on some Breeds/Sexes, such as Female Bogsneaks; Here it's underneath the back left wing instead of just thrown on top and doesn't clip over anything:
But other afflicted clipped art includes: Female and Male Guardians, Male Imperials, Female and Male Nocturnes, Male Pearlcatchers, Female and Male Ridgebacks, Female Skydancers, Female and Male Snappers, Female and Male Spirals, Female Tundras, Male Wildclaws
(The background Wing is on the back of the Guardian's left wing, as the problem with Female Mirrors)
(Same problem as Female Mirrors and Male Guardians)
(For Male Imperials, it's the fact that the 'loop' holding the 'feathers' is drawn over the bend of their wing, ignoring it all together)
(For Male Nocturnes, the bend of the Steampunk Wing is drawn right over the Nocturne's tail.)
(The back left Steampunk wing doesn't have any 'depth' to it in comparison to the right Steampunk wing and the Nocturne's back left wing, making it look severely off)
(Again, the Steampunk Wings is drawn right over the line of the tail)
(As before, the back Steampunk wing is on the back of the Ridgeback's background wing instead of underneath)
(Same problem as Male Ridgebacks and previously stated Breeds/Sexes)
(Same problem as the Ridgebacks and other previously stated breeds/sexes)
(Same problem as Female Skydancers, and the inconsistent number of 'feathers' in the back wings; not to mention their size)
(On Female Snappers it's only the fact that the background Steampunk wing is, again, on the back of the left wing instead of underneath.)
(The metal 'forearm' of the right Steampunk Wing is covering the 'feathers', instead of being underneath; the left one is a bit off, but not nearly as bad as the right.)
(Same problem as the Male Spirals, but now both wings are distinctly off)
(Less art and more logical problem, the 'forearm' of the front Steampunk wing suddenly appears out of nowhere on top of the Tundra's wing, even though the rest of the 'arm' is underneath the Tundra's wing.)
(Again, the background Steapunk Wing is on the top of the Wildclaw's wing, instead of underneath; also, the feathers don't look as consistent as Female Wildclaw's do, with those top tiny ones sticking up, as shown below.)
(Same problem as Male Wildclaws with the background Steampunk wing, and every other breed/sex I mentioned.)
There might be more details I missed, but these are the main ones I saw; honestly the original art is better if only because at least they don't just randomly cover parts of the body they're not supposed to and stay either completely underneath or over the wings instead of inconsistently placing one under and the other over.
