It was only when she discovered the wild, enchanted forest of Broceliande and perched in the midst of its awesome storms that she recognized some similarity to her own magic. That day she realized even terrible power could be beautiful, even nurturing to the world. In time Hazel formed a bond with the forest, using her powers with confidence for the first time to aid her new home and partner, and swearing to help shake off the shadow her grandmother's legacy has cast over them both...together.

During her first year with Broceliande as mutual companions and caretakers, the reawakened, deeply enchanted forest manifested more slivers of self-aware magic as it had in ages long past, imprinted with its bond to Hazel -- both dragon, and spirit of nature.
But on her first hatch-day with the forest, the anniversary if Naomi's infamous ascent, something strange happened. Again, the forest coalesced new beings from its wellsprings of verdant energy...but never like this. It hit them both like a blow, Hazel stunned and the forest bowed and shuddering, something dark and chill from Beyond grasping in, twisting the forest's magic, threatening to drain them both dry towards the end of creating more...pliable vessels.
Ever since Naomi had tried to leverage the forest's might to fuel her meteoric ascent to breach the Veil, its connection to that day of magic had been tainted; the yearly struggle to fend it off had been what had sent the forest into dormancy before Hazel's arrival. It had hoped that their new bond might throw off that old entanglement... but the hungry, lingering energies of Naomi's spell only sought to use Hazel through her bond with the forest as well.
But the forest had chosen its protector well. Even as Hazel feared she might be overwhelmed by the maelstrom trying to fight its way into the world through her forest, she remembered watching the storms, the moment she had awoken Broceliande. She had not held back then and she did not now -- her forest had safeguarded and sheltered her this year entire, and now it was her turn. Finally she was faced with her greatest fears since childhood: corruption by her Grandmother's legacy. But she was not helpless...and she was not alone.
With her forest's help and a tremendous effort, Hazel held back the hold of her Grandmother's curse before its work could complete. Though the three tiny lives she found in a bed of moss in the forest's very heart had been deeply marked by the darkness of the Veil, they were not the puppets of another's ambition that could have been. Abnormally powerful, with a strong tie both to the day of power and the Veil...but in the end, blessedly, masters of their own destiny.
"It will come again, next year..." Hazel realized.

I'll flesh this thread out and make proper posts in the Naomi threads tomorrow or the next day, but giving early bird (non-fancy formatting haha) pings for those on Hazel's Hatchling list if you want to snap one up early! I'm new to the G4 market so I am leaning high to start, since they're her very first hatchlings. They also all landed fully in the green range and I've quite liked the scries I've tried out so far! (included in their bios) If you have a scry for one of them you like, I'd love to see it too!
Broceliande has been empowered by their bond to Hazel and her magic, and to both of their surprise, this has led to more dragons coming into being, not just the forest's original avatar! These three hatchlings are not just Naomi descendants, but powerful forest spirits in their own rights...

I wrote an unsuccessful lore entry for Pye's recent Lore Offer Contest, but reading your lore for Hazel, I think it would be much more appropriate for one of these little guys with a little tweaking, if you are interested in offers of a similar variety! The TLDR of it is Littol Forest Spirit wanders the world until he finds His Forest, and becomes Lord of the Golden Wood.
You did mention you were leaning high in terms of pricing (which is fair), and I don't want to offer anything beyond my means atm (I am near Baroque :'D) but also don't want to lowball. I am quite interested in seeing where you'll take Hazel's lore, however!
