Buttercup babies! [emoji=imperial laughing size=1] I don't really have the funds right now (but I do understand their price), but if you manage to hatch a baby with red/orange secondary, definitely let me know, I'd love to save up for one!

I thought the same about being picky, but then I gened one pair and another, and another and now here I am with 4 pairs and possibly more to come :D. So I'm happy to hear that you like the last two pairs I've made :).

Yeah, breaking even can be done but it depends on when the nest is hatched, what the genes and colours are, what the price is, etc. Since I didn't gene my Veilspuns to make big bucks, I don't expect to break even ror make a profit, but I will still try to. It certainly wouldn't hurt if I was able to make a bit more money to put towards other gene projects. Though really I should learn from you and be a bit pickier. There's only so many dragons my lair can take :D. Also, they are costly.

Diaphanous is gorgeous. Alas, the best thing about it can also be the worst thing about it. For me as someone who is into breeding and likes to make gen1 pairs, finding dragons with a tertiary range that doesn't have weird accent colours is a bit hard. I typically like having a bit wider colour ranges, but the you get all those clashing accents... Though on it's own if you don't have to worry about breeding, Diaphanous is gorgeous. Definitely a gene to consider when working on dragons.

What kind of Diaphanous combinations do you like?

@Killunia
Thank you for the input. I appreciate any feedback I get in regards to pricing.
Will do :). Might take a while though, so don't be surprised if I ping you in a month in a half :D.

@Dewberry It's rather situational: your comment about the tert range is very true. Currently I am planning to breed for a shadow/mulberry/overcast dragon to scroll and gene as Shell/Blend/Diaphanous. I'm also fond of orange- and red-range Diaphanous on black or dark brown primary and secondary, various genes. Beyond that, my interest gets a lot looser. I like Shadow Diaphanous against colors that accentuate its purples, but nothing too bright. I saw a beige Diaphanous on a XXY obsidian that looked fabulous because of the way it brought out the dark gray in the accent color. And no doubt I will find other examples down the road. I took a look at some of the combinations you mentioned and they looked nice. All except the brown-range primary and secondary with red range tertiary. I must have picked the wrong gene and colour combinations because those looked kind of meh :D. Though I bet doubles or close doubles with a nice matching red tertiary would look awesome. I just decided to pick a colour from each group randomly and that didn't go so well.

Could I please be on the pinglist for the next hatch?
Could I please be on the pinglist for the next hatch?
@Cometflower
Yes, of course.

I have another pair with the same genes, but green-range secondary. You can see them in this post. Let me know if you'd like to be pinged when they hatch a nest as well :).

@/Silverbolt1159 @/Goldenwolfmidna @/oroboros @/MiniPandaBuns @/Barrdwing @/TigerlilyParade @/TheBirdandtheBow @/ClickTwelve @/pokemoncha @/Tapestry @/Stormdragon @/Cometflower I'm pinging you all because you expressed interest in one of my Veilspun pairs - pair No.1 or, as I like to call them, the snowy evergreen trees. That pair still has 6 days to go till it can breed, however, in the meantime I have gened another near-identical Veilspun pair, that has had its first hatchlings today. Hopefully, I haven't committed a faux pas and none of you are too mad at me for pinging you here for this copy-cat pair. If you would like to be removed from the pinglist, please, let me know. Otherwise I will ping you here again when the original pair has its clutch. The hatchlings of this new pair have purposefully been priced extra high to test the limits, but should they not have been bought in 11 days, I will start reducing the price. And don't worry, the hatchlings of the original pair won't be listed for 2kg, unless they have special eyes. As stated in the first post of the thread, I take mixed payments (1g:1300t) and I'm also interested in Flecks gene scrolls as partial payment.
