I stumbled across this thread and since I'm newer here, don't really understand how hatcheries work. Could someone explain for me? Thanks!

They are like small shops which are offering Dragons. An advertising platform for dragon pairs. Each hatchery has diferent rules. There are hatcherys which are concentrating on special themes like seasons, owls, nature etc.... or also color themes like pastel. I would write much more, but I´m not a native english speaker >.< Do you have any special questions?

@Lesaya I was wondering what a pinglist is and how you ask to buy a hatchling?

A pinglist is like a "waiting list". When you know that you want a hatchling from a specific pair, you can ask the owner to be on the pinglist for that specific pair. Than he/she will ping you if they are having hatchlings again :)
I would try: "I like dragon yx (the female skydancer? or maybe red/blue dragon with poison/toxin? Be specific which dragon you want!) may I buy this dragon?
Or "Can I buy dragon xy?" "I would like to buy dragon yx"
"I want to buy dragon yx and I saw I that you are offering discounts, may I have the discount, because I am on yx (on their pinglist, or maybe from a flight which is supported by the hatchery?)
"I really want to buy dragon xy! But I don´t have place/money at the moment : / Would you please hold him for a day until I have the space/money?"
