After children are born into the clan they have to go through 2 tests, known as the Sparkling, in their lives, once at birth and once when they reach the age of adulthood. Those who are Glass Jewls remain in the cave system and only venture out at night and most stay away from bright lights and fires to avoid strong reflection of light onto others. Their cave systems and caves are illuminated by bioluminescent animals and insects that dwell in the cave as well as Glow Mushrooms and Star Moss that have all been relocated from other domains. They celebrate all flight holidays and work together to raise the children as one family. Many dragons have severe light blindness and light sensitivity due to living in dark caves. Dragons that are not Glass Jewls can live with them but are not Glass Jewls. [b]The Sparkling[/b] The sparkling is a test that children born into the Glass Jewls go through twice in their lives, once at birth and once when they reach adulthood. During the test a large, bright, high temperature bonfire is made and the dragon basks in the light of the fire. If they are highly reflective they are classified as a Glass Jewl and are to be raised in the the cave systems. Children who may be able to live normal lives and are not as reflective are raised outside of the cave system, in Otherside Homes, with a group of dragons who have befriended or are related to members of the Glass Jewls so they have a chance to lead normal lives and explore much of the outside world without issues or limitations. [b]Otherside Homes[/b] Otherside Homes are foster homes for children of Glass Jewls that have a chance of normal life are raised to learn how to interact with the outside world. These homes are often run by relatives and close friends of Glass Jewls. The homes also function as a place where Otherside Gatherings are held and as a communication and midpoint between regular society and the Glass Jewls. New joining members of the Glass Jewls come to these houses first before moving into the cave systems. Clan lore: Basic
