His name was Lancullon, and he envied the power of the eleven dragon deities, and believed that he was destined to rule his own part of Sornieth--no not part of it...the whole thing! Using dark magic, he slowly began to turn other dragons into his own minions and worshipers. He was the God of Destiny in their eyes. For his followers, Lancullon was the dragon in control of all of their destines. He held in his hand the power to determine the fate of everyone in Sornieth. However much Lancullon enjoyed the worship, the praise, the power, he knew that it was all fake. He was compelling, controlling, and manipulating his followers to believe in his greatness. They had not come willingly, didn't bow before him out of genuine awe and respect--it stroked his ego, but it stopped satisfying him after a while. He wanted true believers. Ones that really thought (like he did) he deserved to be the ruler of all eleven flights. The only way to achieve this that seemed logical to him was to indoctrinate hatchlings into his cult. Start young, and they wouldn't know any differently. So he sent groups of his followers out into the world to steal hatchlings, and bring them to his lair which bordered the Tangled Wood and the Scarred Wasteland. The kidnappings only lasted a week. Then, one fateful day rescue parties from the Clan of Nimue Harbor, The Flickering Tempest Coterie, Insanity Gardens, and The Order of Hyperion ambushed the lair. They had not coordinated or planned to come on the same day, but the coincidence was truly providential. Their combined numbers and powers helped overthrow Lancullon and destroy all remnants of his cult. They could not have done it without the presence of the others. After the battle, representatives from each one of the clans gathered together and set up an alliance. A mutually beneficial agreement which allowed the exchange of knowledge, supplies, and power when it was necessary. The alliance, originally formed in terms of what each clan could gain grew into a deep friendship between the members of the three clans. Now, the clans jointly raise hatchlings. They hope that as their hatchlings enter the world, they will grow to live fulfilling lives and won’t fall into the hands of evil like Lancullon. If a dragon you purchased is found to be exalted nameless you will be blacklisted. Most dragons will come to you nameless, but if a dragon comes with a name you may request a scroll of renaming for an [u]extra 100 treasure[/u]. Most are listed with a "nickname" to help make it easier to request them. [*] If you would like a small bit of lore to accompany your dragon, you can ask. Longer Lore (2-3 paragraphs) will cost an extra 500 treasure. [*][i]Once the dragon is yours you can do with it what you like [/i]. [*]Dragons can be put on hold for up to [u]4 days [/u].
