A little about the above image: Shinigami or Death Spirit, is the unofficial 'mascot' of the Dark Dragon hub. Despite her scary look with her black birdskull dress, she is peaceful creature and considers herself the 'grim reaper' of dragons. She does all she can to assist exalted dragons on thier way to the various elemental deities. If you can see her faithful Ethereal Trickster coming, be assured she follows right behind.
What are Dark Dragons?
A dark dragon is a dragon which is bred to include at least one of the five main dark colours: Black, Obsidian, Eldritch, Midnight and/or Shadow.
This colour can appear as the dragons primary, secondary and/or tertiary colour and placement of the colours affects how a breeding pair would be categorised.
The category of a breeding pair is decided on the parent dragons attributes, not the hatchlings. Therefore a pair may breed hatchlings with attributes of a different category.

One dark colour is required in Primary, Secondary or Tertiary. The other colours can be any other combination excluding guaranteed black, obsidian, eldritch, midnight and shadow. Both breeding partners must have the dark colour in the same place, ie. both in the primary, both in the secondary or both in the tertiary.
