I’d like to be the first to welcome you to the fountain, a lore shop that is owned and run by shenzy. The name is Calipeso, and well, I happen to be very important to shenzy, but that's not really important, how about we get to know shenzy a little bit better before we explore the lore possibilities?
Hello there, I'm shenzy, a crazy teen who loves to write (to much for my own sake) and I will stay up late just o finish an idea, poem, etc. I am committed and dedicated to my work, but I also enjoy the easier things in life such as dressing my dragons (and spending way more than I should on their outfits) as well as just laying around and doing nothing or spending time with my family.
We're open!
note; please refrain from pinging, i'm subbed c:[nextcol]

The open skies beckon for dragons to fly, yet so many stay on the ground and live their lives tied down to the land they came from, what a waste of precious gifts. Sadly, the frozen wastelands forced the small band of coatls to stay in an ice cave; their wings frozen with icicles covering them like mother nature’s daggers, the cold seeping into their bones. Two of the band had already succumbed to the cold and laid quietly on the ground of the cave, agony written on their faces when they knew their last moments would be spent in the suffocating cold. Of this small band of coatls was Calipeso, a young bright little coatl who had the shiniest turquoise scales, but he did not understand the dire danger of the situation.
Of the two dragons in the icicle, one was his father, Rio, he bore the same colors as Calipeso did on his scales. His younger sister, Melody, hadn’t even made it on the journey, she had been swallowed by the icy depths of the sea when the ice broke as the group of coatls had crossed it. Mourning wasn’t proper at the time, everyone was falling, more and more of coatls fell to the glacial winds, and their corpses were buried under the snow. The coatls knew they were unfit for this journey, but they needed to find a new home after a large group of guardians had taken their past home nestled in the alps which had been bountiful all year round, for seafood was easily found in the icelands if you lived near the frozen sea.
Calipeso peered outside of the ice cave, the wind whipped around, and the poor dragonet could not see farther than a little rock poking out of the snow, about three feet away from the entrance of the ice cave where the coatls had taken shelter. There was a figure, the young coatl could sense it, and he felt beckoned by them. He stepped foot outside of the ice cave, his mother was busy discussing with the other adult coatls where to go next before, well, they all turned to glaciers.
The coatl struggled to stay upright and not be swept away by the winds or being buried in the rapidly accumulating snow. One talon in front of the other as Calipeso slowly made his way across the barren wasteland, the voice grew louder, imitating the sound of grinding gears, but higher pitched, more like a clarinet. A small figure appeared in front of him, and he turned his head curiously, he pawed at it, but his talon went right through the light blue figure.
“Calipessssso.”
The dragonet backed up fearfully, the little fae frightened him for it knew his name and seemed unfearful of the fact that the coatl dragonet was larger than it.
“I’m sssssorry, my name is Raz, I came here, from the realm of ghostsssssss.”
“Really?” Calipeso asked excitedly as a dragonet would if another dragon claimed they were from a mystical land.
“Yessss, come with me.”
The small fae slipped into the ice storm and disappeared, the coatl put his talon into the ice storm and slipped into it, expecting to be hit by the force of the whipping winds he braced himself, but rather the winds became eerily calm. He slowly opened his eyes, looking up at the open clear skies, filled with dragons of the many colors, and they peacefully flew, as if they didn’t know that right outside of their little world an ice storm was raging fiercely. He turned to see the fae, except the fae was no longer a light blue, rather a dark blue with speckles, and when he pawed at the fae again his talons didn’t go through it, rather they hit a solid surface.
“We’ve been waiting for you to come. Welcome, welcome to the realm of ghostssssss.”
Example 2: Exposition
- 365 words, short length
The small fae looked as though she belonged in a toy shop or in a rainforest of sorts, her colors resembling that of a tropical bird, but she had originated from a much different place with a much different story than most dragons and dragonets alike would expect. Her icy blue eyes, which resembled that of a frozen sea, were the only thing that indicated of her heritage in the frozen wasteland controlled by the Icewarden himself. Her past, while she may not speak of it much, is littered with dark paths that had been taken by kin, clanmates, and most noticeably herself. Her innocent appearance made her the perfect hirable assassin, at the time she had been proud of her decision in career and felt powerful, knowing in her talons she held the power to eliminate or to spare dragons.
While being small in size, she was fierce in spirit as well as her size aided her into sneaking in and out without being noticed and ceasing any suspicion the target or its audience had whatsoever. Drastic choices such as these do not come without problems or rather, without consequences. The fae had begun to gain more and more confidence, and let loss of the reins a little bit, not caring as much about her secrecy or avoiding grabbing the audiences attention. Her cocky and overly confident personality began to catch up to her, dragons were able to catch images of her and litter towns, streets, cities, and stores with posters of the small fae wanted for murder.
Overtime, she realized that this path would only end in consequence and imminent death, for she had not taken into account the serious outcomes of failing or making a mistake in this kind of job. Rather than come clean though, she decided to run off and abandon her job of an assassin, joining this clan of misfits alike, and had she confessed to her crimes there would have been no penalty other than torture and ultimately, well, death. While the guilt still weighs quite heavily on the little fae’s shoulders, in this world its kill or be killed, which was taken quite literally in this case.
